Sense clock "without" weather - HTC Aria Themes and Apps

Hey Guys, here's the HTC sense flip clock but without the weather and the glass background is gone so you won't see a gap. Just flash it in recovery like a rom.
MAKE SURE THAT THE CLOCK IS ON YOUR HOME SCREEN BEFORE YOU INSTALL THIS.
The HTC Clock Widget MUST be actively open on your home screen.
You can NOT remove it from your home screen and add it again later.
You can NOT use the different clocks the widget has to offer.
Long story short, make sure the clock is on your home screen before installing.
WARNING: Do not wipe, as this is using your cached prior HtcClockWidget.apk signature verification. Which means you should have the stock widget active on your homescreen before you flash this. This is tricking the clock into thinking the .apk is signed correctly.. It is highly advised you nandroid backup!! If you wipe your cache for any reason you will lose the clock and possibly cause other errors. If you need to wipe for some reason, delete HtcClockWidget.apk in system/app via Root Explorer or ADB.

Damagecontrol Clear Weather & Genie Widget

I installed the "Clear Weather & Genie Widget" package using DCupdater on Damagecontrol 2.08.1 to try it out. I made the assumption that I would enjoy the clear weather widget (i.e. I was lazy) so I didn't make a nandroid backup. Turns out I'd rather have the regular ol' stock HTC flipclock/weather widget, but the APK I found for it on some forum results in "application not installed." Does anyone know how I can undo the effects of the package I installed without wiping and making a new Damagecontrol install?

Can't you just push the apk you found for it to the phone and then it is listed as one of your widgets? I don't think you would install it.
adb push xxxx(clearweatherwidget).apk /system/app

Where To Find Pre-Installed App's and Widgets?

I just flashed my phone with the damage control ROM. At first all was well, I power cycled my phone and all my widgets and apps were gone, still installed but not on my home screen. I tried to reload all my widgets and I noticed they weren't there. Is their anyway to get the Sprint Hero Widgets that were factory installed?
-Dave
This involves a few steps but it will definitely work:
1. Unzip/Extract the DamageControl ROM you were using onto your PC using some type of unzipping tool.
2. Double-click through folders and find the /system/app folder.
3. All the widget and app .apk's will be in there.
4. Copy/paste any of the ones you want to put back onto your phone from that folder into your c:\android-sdk-windows\tools folder.
5. Open your Command Prompt and navigate to this android-sdk-windows\tools folder from cmd line
6. Then push these files via adb to /system/app
Code:
adb remount
adb push HtcBlahBlahWidget.apk /system/app
or
Code:
adb install HtcBlahBlahWidget.apk
Do either one of those commands for any of the apps and widgets you want to install.
I'm sure there is a flashable .zip out there that will install lots of those apps for you, so feel free to search around and find a simpler method than this. But this one will definitely work and you will only install exactly the stuff you want.

There was a bug at one point in time that stopped the widgets from showing up in the widget list.
Go into Applications find HTC Sense select it and clear data/cache
Try to add the widget again - if it was installed it should show up now.
I really figured that would have been fixed by now - but damage moved on months ago the the evo - maybe he is not updating any more.

Widgets not loading after reboot

ive uninstalled and reinstalled, ive closed down adw launcher and relauncned but nothing.
im also noticing that after installing widgetlocker from the market it disapears on reboot as well.
this all started happening after i pushed some smoked widget replacements and edited the drawable file on widgetlocker to include my own slider
i think there might be a problem with the apks...maybe i need to sign them myself or something? im not sure if that would be the problem....any suggestions?
im rooted on CM 6.1

All widgets, or just the ones you messed with?
As for WidgetLauncher, about every 6-8 weeks (ie: when I reboot) it seems like I recall it doesn't come up quite right from reboot, but if I launch it manually it's fine after. Not sure if it's a timing thing or what.
And of course I'm sure you've made sure these widgets aren't using Froyo Apps2SD (not Apps2Ext, that's fine) because widgets don't play from SD.
all widgets whether i touched them or not.
they are all installed on internal memory (including widget locker)
ive been messing with it and i uninstalled widgetlocker..all my widgets loaded fine after i deleted and re did them. I reinstalled widgetlocker and everything works like normal...untill i pull the widgetlauncher apk...edit the drawable files...recompile as an apk and push to the phone. the new files i push dont show up, and then on reboot widgetlauncher is no where to be found on my phone. no icon in the app tray or anything.
so ive been messing around, and i think i fixed the problem. I used these instructions courtsey of Andrewst in his thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=785081&highlight=widgetlocker
Method B - Manual copying via Root Explorer - for root user only
* Uninstall your current copy.
* Manual remove from /data/app if you can't uninstall manually.
* Copy my MOD copy to /system/app via root explorer.
* Before copying, make sure click the Mount R/W button for write access in root explorer.
* Set permission to rw--r--r
* Restart the phone.
* Open up your WidgetLocker, goto Settings -> Look & Feel -> Slider & Layout and choose iPhone.
so far so good....
i might have spoke too soon....looks like the widget are failing to load again...hmmmm

[Q] Font restore

Ok... I was feeling creative and was playing with the fonts on my HTC One. Using iFont i was able to change the majority, but I went a step further and used font installer, and selected a number of system fonts in the preferences. Long story short, I wrote over one that caused it to reboot and freeze on the HTC One screen. I know I can reflash the rom, but instead of redoing the whole phone would like to push the fonts back into the system folder. Is there a default font pack for this phone, or can someone give me a list of fonts in the font folder I can search and download? Thanks!

What ROM are you using? Depending on the case, reflashing it will be just fine. I was stuck in the same boat using fonts in ROMToolbox, but a simple reflash of my current ROM fixed it. Just dont wipe any data and youll reboot with everything just the way you left it (files, data, everything) except your fonts will be restored to the stock ones in the ROM zip. I was on ARHD when i did this, so it *should* work for you too. Make a nandroid just in case!

[Q] About Customizing Stock ROM

Hello. I am using Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000, N7000ZSLR1, Android 4.1.2 Hong Kong version. There are something I am not quite satisfied with the ROM, I have rooted my device with Chinese one key root app so I wonder if there are some ways to customize the ROM.
1. The first thing is Notification screen. In this Android 4.1.2, when you pull it down, the shortcuts at the top will first display the tiles in picture 1, then it will automatically swipe to picture 2:
Picture 1:
Picture 2:
Is there any method that can modify / remove tiles at the top? Or at least make it like picture 2 in default when I pull down, no swiping.
2. In this ROM, the Task Manager no longer display in app drawer like Android 2.3.6, instead I need to long press Home button to go to "Recent App" screen and tap the pie chart icon at the lower left corner to open Task Manager. I'm curious, the system app is in \system\app, and it IS an .apk. So I wonder if I can at least make a shortcut from it and add to "Home Screen", I always need to use it and I don't want to download third party app for this shortcut.
Recent Apps screen:
View in ES File Explorer:
3. The default Launcher in the stock ROM is TouchWizHome, and by default there are no indication when you tap an icon to open the app. So I wonder if I can add some "effect" to notify me when I open an app, like dim the icon or glow at the edge of icon.
4. If you are a Titanium Backup user, please tell me that should I wipe system apps' data first before uninstall it. Because it always gives me a feeling of "unclean" if I don't wipe the data before uninstall it. I always uninstall system app to keep my phone slimmer and faster.
Thank you in advance.
first, to change anything with the user interface aka UI your rom must be deodexed, so you need to create a deodexed rom from this rom or look for it in a chinease android forum (defnitely you will find it).
once your rom is deodexed, you can flash one of AryaMod or Sweet rom mods to change the interface, i think most of them will work because of the same framework but make a full backup because they might not work.
if you only need to change the order of quick toggles in the notification panel i think you can do it from settings >> display
or you can make your own mods following one of the awesome guides in this forum but that will take you time and you may face bootloops

How about question 2 and 4?
2/ i think there is a resizable widget of the task manager, all you have to do is place it in your home screen and when you click on it it will open the task manager. i have no idea about how to make the task manager appear in the app drawer but sure there is a way to do it.
4/ yes i always use titanium backup to backup and restore my non-cloud-based apps but not from and to different android version. never restore for example apps that were backed up on jellybean to kitkat or any other android version cuz this will cause force-close and other problems. whenever you are going to install new rom just wipe /preload and /system (/data partition will be wiped automatically when you make wipe data - factory reset) this way you will leave no trace of old system apps data, config, cache or anything.
don't uninstall system apps just freeze them using titanium backup or directly from app settings if you are on ics or above. if you removed an important system app like google contact sync that you may think not important you may get force-close, unmounted storage, ui crash all the time and similar problems.
Hope i helped you

2/ ...Yes you think, but there is not, if it has then I'll place it at home screen from the start... I just want to know how to make that system app have a shortcut icon...
4/ But won't uninstall create more space for my system? I mean frezzing them will still occupy some space right?

It is just a safety procedure. Freeze the app and use your phone for a few days. If nothing funny happens go ahead and uninstall it to reclaim the space.
If you are absolutely sure the particular app you want to uninstall will not be needed anymore just uninstall it without going thru the freeze time.
