Ok... I was feeling creative and was playing with the fonts on my HTC One. Using iFont i was able to change the majority, but I went a step further and used font installer, and selected a number of system fonts in the preferences. Long story short, I wrote over one that caused it to reboot and freeze on the HTC One screen. I know I can reflash the rom, but instead of redoing the whole phone would like to push the fonts back into the system folder. Is there a default font pack for this phone, or can someone give me a list of fonts in the font folder I can search and download? Thanks!

What ROM are you using? Depending on the case, reflashing it will be just fine. I was stuck in the same boat using fonts in ROMToolbox, but a simple reflash of my current ROM fixed it. Just dont wipe any data and youll reboot with everything just the way you left it (files, data, everything) except your fonts will be restored to the stock ones in the ROM zip. I was on ARHD when i did this, so it *should* work for you too. Make a nandroid just in case!

I installed the ICE theme using metamorph and after going back to default theme using droid root helper a lot of things are still blue. Can anyone point me in the direction of a metamorph zip that can get things back to normal? I just want the default icons and dialer back...
Btw I'm running 2.0.1 on a motorola droid
I don't know how the droid works, but just flash the original rom file and it will get everything back to default. Or just open up the rom and replace the apk's with the originals.

I flashed the original ROM before it didn't work, thanks for the idea tho.
I'm really just lookin for someone that has made a metamorph file of the defaults from what I've read that's the only way to get back to it.
it happened to me too.. i've tried to reflash the rom (cyanogenmod) and icons werent changed.. so i reflashed android 1.6 and cyanogenmod and icons came back to normal XD

so am i just SOL?
Without more information yes. What rom, if they are google apps see above, if they are menu parts, most of them are in the framework files, so they just need to be pushed and reboot to see changes.
See the value of a nandroid backup... Worst case, backup your apps and settings then start over.

I did a nandroid backup, but when i made a new one to save my new data and apps it saved the new theme as well. Its things like the color of the text box in messaging and things of that nature that I would like to change back as I found a theme that works for me and I like these icons. I'm new to the android world as I used a blackberry for a long time. So what do you mean by push and reboot?
also how would I go about backing up just my apps and settings?
So I've installed Android Revolution HD 3.2 GE and I see where the messaging app doesn't have popups and such like the CM Mms.apk does. I deleted the Mms.apk from system and replaced with the CM one and after reboot it replaces it back with the factory apk. Last night I was able to get it to stick (had to factory reset for another reason) and I'm doing the same thing now so I'm not sure what the issue is.
While getting ready to post this, I was attempting again and this time after reboot the Mms.apk is in the system folder (not sure which one) but the app is missing from the app drawer. So I just factory reset.
I'm pretty bent on getting this popup version to work. I downloaded an app called Popup which was nice, but it was consuming way too much battery.
Thank you for any help.

I'm assuming the ROM has r/w protection disabled (Where anything done is reverted)? If so, have you deleted the MMS.apk from system/app, put the CM mms.apk in system/app, set the correct permissions at rw-r--r-- and rebooted?

I remember once before it prompted me to change to rw-r-r-- and it hasn't been doing that now. I set it myself just now after copying the apk and it still replaced it after reboot.
Edit: to clarify, yes I did as you specify. Not sure if it matters, but in the rom tweaks during install there is an option for "Improe EXT4 Performance: Enable data_writeback for all paritions". Would this being checked/unchecked make a difference?
Edit 2: I installed with and without it checked and it didn't make a difference.
Followed instructions in this thread, just to try some things and it still resets back to the factory mms.apk. Just updating on what I've tried.

lulz I'm about to flash a different rom. The app you showed me doesn't keep the changes. It reboots and everything is switched back to off and no changes are kept. I blame the rom/system, not the app itself because others in the thread all seem to be fine.
Edit: I think i'm editing every post.... I tried doing the AOSP Browser install with the app, and even that didn't stick. Said "android is upgrading" upon restart but nope...
Installed Insert Coin and it works now. Thanks for the assistance!
I am running 11-20140803-Nightly-hummingbird & wallpaper disappears after going from Portrait to landscape mode & the only way to setup the wallpaper I have to reboot.
Every once in awhile I will get a System UI stopped message too.
After the wallpaper disappears system seems to really lag.
I figured maybe my system was getting all junked up due to so many updates I have done since 10.1 days, so I did a system reset with CWM & figured I would start over.
After installing the nightly mentioned above & gapps rebooted & noticed all the folders were still there from before, do these not get wiped when doing a system reset?
Any suggestions on what to do with the issue I am having & how do you completely wipe the system to start over?
This is getting a bit frustrating.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Thank you
You don't really want to completely wipe everything - do not wipe emmc internal storage. Only data, dalvic, cache is necessary.
Don't know what folders your referring to. Folders on internal storage will stay. Any other folders in the rom sections that were wiped will be repopulated upon flashing a rom.
The wallpaper issue sounds like a bug in cm. Try the m9 build. I use m9 and have not seen that problem, not with m9 and not with m8.
I have no idea what you install on it, but it could also be an app your installing that is breaking things.
Anytime you want to start fresh do a full recovery backup in the recovery so you can go right back to exactly how you had it if a new rom install doesn't fix your problem instead of wasting time.
Problem solved
It appears it was due to newest beta of Apex Pro that I was using. I installed one of my backups of Apex through Titanium Pro just to see if that was the issue & by golly I think it was.
Seemed like every time I would rotate my screen the wallpaper went Poof!
Solution for wallpaper issue
Especially this problem is found in cm11 snapshot M9 M10etc. But M11 has no issues. I am using m11 since its realse and absulotely no wallpaper issue has been encountered. If you are using 3 party launcher to set wallpaper the it is my request to use default system wallpaper tool to change wallpaper. And thats it.
I'm looking for a way to replace the system apps with their AOSP counter part.
E.g. dialer, email, contacts etc.
Does someone know if it's possible for all apps or are their any problems to be expected?
And second question, is there probably a flash able zip for this?
I'd be curious to know as well. Coming from a Nexus device I hate Sony's attempts to "improve" the basic apps like dialer and messaging. They all look like they were designed in 1998.
That should be possible....

I think at the moment there is no available zip. You need CWM for your idea - do you have your phone rooted ?
If so there should be a possiblity to create such a flashable zip , that erase the not needed apps and install the new apps...
If your phone is not rooted maybe a batch file could do the trick via ADB for you - in a first step it should block the not wanted apps and in a second step it should install the new apps.
So you need the Names of the packages / apps that should be erased and before that, you should find the AOSP-Apps that run on the Z3C.

Yes it's rooted.
I would be happy too, to replace the dialer & contact apps with AOSP ones.
Regarding messaging, i'm using this one : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.slvn.mms
Collecting of required information
Hi folx,
in this post i try to get all required information to replace the not wanted SONY stuff by the desired stuff mostly AOSP.
Your phone should be rooted and CWM should be installed.
Then we have to build a fitting flashable zip file.
But to succeed we fist need to test if the wanted apps will work on our phone. (i will test for example: Dialer from CM11)
If these Apps work, then we should have a deeper look on the creating of such a flashable.zip file. I have found a lot of howtos in the web. But to be sure we should backup those SONY-Apps
Here are 2 links i would use:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-hacking-modding-fuer-lenovo-ideapad-a1/268272-how-cwm-update-zips-erstellen.html german
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1721680 english here at XDA
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2764533 this can also be useful
The updater - script within this zip-file could be adjusted to our needs. Deleting the not wanted Sony.apps from /system /app and replace them with the wanted Apps. If i find the time i could provide such a file - but i can't test it.
The simple Trick:
But you could do it more simple - you just need a root explorer (i prefer ES File Explorer). Go to the above mentioned folder /system/app or system/private. There you should find the not wanted apps. Just copy them in a backup folder on your sdcard, delete the sony apk in the system - partition, copy your desired apk in the folder, where you have deleted the Sony-apk, give the right permissions and then reboot.
If the new app fails - just delete it in the same manner as described above and copy the backupped app in the corresponding folder and check the permissions again. - reboot.
I would really appreciate posting your results and if there are any further questions.... do not hesitate - we are all here to learn and get our phone better
Cheers
Rhonin
I probably have time to test this on the weekend.
I'll let you know how it goes.
I copied over Contacts, Contacts Prvovider and the Dialer apks.
However I couldn't get them to work.
Neither the Contacts nor the Dialer app showed up in the app drawer.
Email didn't work either.
Deskclock works fine. I'd love dialler to work...
Update: I was able to change the font with the flash zip option using the app previously mentioned. When using iFont (Expert of Fonts) or any other app for that matter to switch font, after rebooting the device it bootloops? I've tried clearing the Dalvik & Cache & even tried fixing permissions. Any thoughts on how to successfully change the font or a working app?

Is there a square where the " : " should be in the Minimus ROM?

Sent from my Nexus 6
Open app, MY, Settings, Change font mode, Recovery mode. Now when you SET font it will create a flash zip. Make sure you backup your Rom!
Yes.
