I see ports of a lot of great phones, but none for the Galaxy S? Why?
Galaxy S features some good stuff,
1. The notification bar is quite amazing, as it displays the toggle widgets, and music player in there.
2. The lock screen is quite awesome also, it has a widget for calls/messages and music player.
Those are the two things I like about the Galaxy S which I'd like to see on the Nexus One.
The notification bar toggle widgets are available with CM 6.1 but the lockscreen isn't ported, can someone port that??
I don't think I'd want to infect my phone with any of Samsung's rubbish.

I really like some of the Samsung widgets, but to not like the Touchwiz launcher. So, I installed Launcher Pro, which I vastly prefer. Unfortunately, now the Samsung widgets are not in the add widget menu.
Is there any trick I can do to get them back?
I'd also like to know this, the Facebook Stream widget was really useful, the stock one is awful!

Yeah that is the widget I want most as well.
It is the best I have seen for android so far that integrates both twitter and facebook. I tried out this one on the market called "Socialite", it is *OK*, but not as good as the Samsung one.
So i have to decide, do I want a decent integrated Facebook / Twitter widget, or do I want a decent launcher?
???
Does anybody have an answer to this? I myself like pretty much all the futures in TW - would mainly like to change the 4 icons on the bottom and maybe even have the ability to hide the notification bar.
Is there a way to incorporate TW samsung widgets into launcher pro for example?
Thanks
I suppose Samsung's widgets are tied to the Touchwiz Launcher and incompatible with other launchers
It's a pity because I really like the Accuweather Clock over the other available widgets. But LauncherPro is so much better than the Samsung Launcher, I can't go without a launcher that lets me hide apps from the app drawer due to the massive amount of crap it gets flooded with.
You can change the left 3 icons on the bottom (but not the Applications one).
Just go to the Applications screen and press Menu and choose Edit. Then, move the icons off and put another in place.
I'm pretty sure it's impossible. I wanted to do that but was told by different ppl it was impossible. Same goes for Launcher Pro widgets in Touchwizz (i prefere the LP ones vs the Samsung). They are tied to the launcher u use.
You could put Home Switcher on each of the home screens of TW and LP then just switch between them just like moving to a different page. Just an idea.
Thanks fro the ideas, sounds like it's a no-go for right now at least.....
One more thing, does launcher pro juice the battery as same as TW? And when I used launcher pro in the past, I really liked to use the option "hide notification bar", i think it gives it a cleaner look, but at the same time it won't notify me when i receive an email ( other than the sound), I did search this in the past with no luck, so is there a widget, icon, something that I can install that will show on the screen when I received email, when using LP?
Thanks
I use executive assistant but it is a paid app. Worth it I believe though.
Hi, is there any way we can get transition effect while switching from landscape/portrait mode just like the Samsung Wave, Galaxy S II or Iphone do ?
So bad we could get transition effects everywhere except there !
Someone to work it out ?
You better write to those ui developer's email you find on market.
I use GO launcher and I found it better than LauncherPro, not to mention that the last update was an animated effect on swiping through pages.
Does anyone know if you can enable quick setting in the notification bar? To enable/disable things like wifi, bluetooth, etc.
I found this quick settings app apparently imported from Sense 5, but I have Sense 5 and don't see these quick setting anywhere...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183614
At least two ROMs have this so far (Trickdroid and Renovate). They're not 4.2 quick settings, more like the toggles you get in CyanogenMod and Touchwiz (which is a superior implementation anyway, imo).
I don't know if anyone has it as a mod for the stock ROM.
I see. Hopefully we either get 4.2 soon or someone will release an add-on for the stock Rom... It's really annoying...
If you want to add a CM style quick settings to your notification bar without committing to a ROM with it added, I can highly recommend Power Toggles from the Play Store. Highly configurable and works a treat.

+1 to this. Coming from an S2 I really missed this feature. Power toggles does the job almost perfectly, with the only downside being that you have to have an icon in the notification bar. You can make it transparent but it's still there. I prefer to have the battery monitor icon so I can see battery percentage. Something else I missed

Hello All.
For outdoors sportsmans negative colors option is very valuable because when activated and with brightness at max the phone is totally readable under full sunlight.
Unfortunately negative colors widget is missing on the S4 whereas it came stock on S3.
It would be great to have it on S4 as well.
I am a stock ROM user so I wonder if the apk can be extracted from S4 and can be installed on S4?
Negativecolours widget
Check out the Samsung App store, search for Negativecolours widget, and download it. Also check out the HQ voice and other widgets. Samsung left them out to free over a GB of space, and made them available on the its own app store incase someone needed them, enjoy man!
Josh.
Is the Note 5's inability to scroll wallpaper as you cycle through the home screens a bug or working as intended? If it's not a bug, is this function removed because of Samsung/TouchWiz or Android 5.1.1? (I'm coming from an LG G3 that had 5.0.X on it and it scrolled the wallpaper.)
To be clear, this was the feature that would move your background wallpaper slightly left or right as you scrolled in that direction through your various home screens- I believe it was called parallax effect?
I don't yet have the Note 5 - hopefully wont be too long. But this is a Touchwiz thing and is working as intended. It has always had a static background for as long as i can remember (at least back to the s3). There are some live wallpapers which allow scrolling other than that you can use a different launcher.
This feature was never there in touchwiz... We always used Root, xposed and wanam mod for it to work on TW ( wanam xposed does have tons of useful features for touchwiz)..
Or you could use another launcher like nova

Thanks for the quick responses! I will look into Nova.
Nova is not scrolling wallpaper in my s6 unfortunately

You need to apply the wallpaper using the change wallpaper function in Nova! Works fine using Apex. Make sure multiple scrolling homescreen is on!
Feature not part of TouchWiz
Scrolling wallpapers have never been part of Touchwiz and probably won't be either, they would face so many performance issues with it if they did implement. The problem being they've added the new wallpaper effects that are similar to the motion features on iOS.

I guess you only had touchwiz phone last couple of years or less.
Live wallpaper is way more demanding than scrollable wallpaper and it's still around . In fact I'm running live wallpaper with scrolling effect on both lockscreen and desktop in nova without performance issues. Old galaxies and notes never had issue with that particular feature either. Sammy just likes to force differentiate themselves, even if its extremely dumb. Like having app selection option be set as default ,the first time you pick something.
The last sentence ...no contest....but not much of a compliment.
I'm sure though i saw scrollable option somewhere on touchwiz launcher just recently (checkmark in lower right corner in wallpaper selection). Probably when setting screen from desktop (long press). then again too lazy to confirm now, as i only see tw launcher twice a year. When i buy a phone and when i sell it. Provided i don't have to warranty the thing
