Nexus One Suddenly Stopped Voice Out in Phone Calls - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So my Nexus One just suddenly stopped voice out in phone calls (i.e no one can hear me on the other side.) I know that the mic isn't busted because I can skype out, and tried recording my voice with recording apps, it works just fine.
I tried everything. I wiped. I tried different roms. I rolled back to stock rom. I even updated the radio. Nothing seems to fix it.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

using google voice?
ive had that happen once or twice, I thought it was just some bad phone routing from google voice

No Voice After Picking Up Incoming Call

I've had my HTC M8 H/K edition on Sprint 1 week now. I dont get a lot of calls, but I just realized my phone has a problem answering calls. The phone rings. When I answer the call, it picks up, and then there's just silence. No audio in or out. The caller hears nothing; I hear nothing. There is no problem when i make outgoing calls, just answering incoming calls. Anyone else heard of this issue?
I should add. Stock Rom, Unlocked Bootloader, Root, S-On
Here's an update -- It seems to be a problem with Google Voice. I read in another post that google talk installed on a PC might contribute to the problem as it is delivering the call to the app first. I removed google voice from my phone, and then reboot. Issue is gone, we'll see what happens when i reinstall google voice.

Same here with me...
what should be done..
?
I uninstalled google voice for now.
So I narrowed down the issue a bit further. It has to do with whether or not I'm on LTE. I still think Google voice might be interfering. But something is different with how the call is delivered when i'm on LTE. When I set my phone to CDMA only, the call rings, i answer it and everything is fine. When i turn back on LTE. The call rings, i answer it and it's dead air. No voice in or out. Really weird.
Other things I've tried. Wifi Off/On, no difference. Signed out of my google/gvoice accounts. I also disabled the feature to deliver calls to Google talk/hangouts. Maybe it takes a while for the settings to take effect.
I have the same issue completely stock HTC one with latest OTA updates and Google Voice I can only receive phone calls when I am on CDMA doesnt work on WIFI or 4G.

Microphone problem while calling

Hey guys, i have problem with my Z1. While i am calling via gsm calling the other side can hear me like very bad. Almost imposible to understand what i am saying. I would say that is problem with microphone, but on skype or sound recorder my voice was clear like a mountain stream.
I was running on stock deodexed 4.4.4, than i made factory restart and now i am running on Criskelo rom, 4.4.4 aswell. Still the same.
I even turn the noise suppresion in call menu aswell, didnt make a difference.
Anyone got the same problem?

Did you have this problem on stock rom as well and on an older build than 4.4.4?
On Stock Rom yes, but i have this issue just with 4.4.4. i guess.
I tried it on official 4.3.and the same.
Try a different sim card and make a call and report back

You may also try if you can make any different result with your device microphone when calling if you change any of voice settings in "settings/calling settings". There are atleast microphone noice canceling, equalizer, speaker volume increasing and slow speaking. Maybe hardware issue thou.
I tried to change everything. But i can hear it great on Skype And microphone test software, so not sure if it is hardware issue :-/
I just tried to call with my loud settings (like from main speaker) my voice was clear again. But when switching back it did the same.
I have this problem since i tried for the 5th time to call with it through the rain.
Now, every program the mic is dissorted. Even the sony service menu. Brought it my service provider for a repair/replace, but after a few weeks they told me the phone has water damage??? HOW the hell, i am not stupid, knowing to close the lids.
Now waiting for the parts of microphone hardware. Hopefully this will fix the problem.
So are you going to replace it by yourself? My voice is service menu is pure, even on skype calls and stuff like that, so i hope its not hardware related :-/
Problem fixed. I had removed the antidust cover of microphone and my voice is clear again.

[Q] CM11 calling problems?

Hi, I'm currently running CM11, after flashing from stock. Whenever I attempt to make a call, through Hike, Razer, even WhatsApp(ticking sound comes for the receiver) the receiver cannot hear me, but I can hear them clearly. Is anyone facing this same problem? If anyone could, please try it out. It also happened to me on ProuDroid(4.4.4) but for a brief period on which I was on CM12(QuantumLP) the calling on razer worked fine. So I'm thinking it's maybe CM11 roms ?
Might be CM 11/12 issue try searching the relevant threads in the development section and do some research before posting
Same here. Just reboot the phone the problem will be solved.

I have the same problem with a skyrocket running cm11. It happened after I enabled whatsapp calling. Whenever I made or received a whatsapp call the mic would be disabled even for phone calls after that. I would have to reset the phone to restore functionality. I had to go back to an old 2.11.515 version of whtsapp to disable calling. Now everything is fine except for whatsapp calling.

No speaker/mic call audio?

I have to preface this by saying I've read through dozens of threads, but still am stuck. I have an HTC One M7 that was previously used on Sprint's network. I followed the instructions about getting the phone to work with GSM carriers, using the stock HTC ROM (Android 5.0.2). Everything worked fine for getting the SIM registered with the APN. GSM data works fine, as well as GSM calls. The calls work as long as the phone has earbuds plugged in. When earbuds are plugged in then the GSM call audio is functional. If I unplug the earbuds then there is no GSM call audio. Not even ringback tones when calling out.
Tried clearing the various Google Play caches. Checked that no HTC or Google Play updates were automatically installing. Factory reset things, lather, rinse repeat.
So I tried flashing the device with Cyanogenmod 12, based on a current nightly build. This wasn't successful, since the OS didn't even see my SIM card.
Finally, I installed ViperOne 8.0.0 and chose the Sprint option when installing. This resulted in the same scenario as the stock HTC ROM. Everything works except for GSM call audio requiring the headphone jack. I looked at suggestions about disabling Google voice response services and tried that. Still no luck. I did see a ZIP install for a Viper "no sound" fix. After installing that was stuck in a boot loop.
Any other suggestions that folks know work for 100% sure? The ViperOne 8.0.0 clean install was somewhat of a last gasp attempt....

I did try things such as listed in http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/help/how-to-fix-current-audio-calls-issue-t2972498 as well. Still no luck. Figuring I think I'm running the latest ViperOne ROM I'm assuming that the patches around Dec-2014 were included rolled up into 8.0.0? This is really easy to reproduce. Any GSM call I initiate with headphones plugged in works fine for audio. I can hear on speakerphone then too. When I unplug the headphones the remainder of the active GSM call continues to work via speakerphone or the "earpiece." But the next GSM call I attempt to join has no call audio.
Clearing the Google Play service cache, disabling the CheckInService, rebooting, rebooting via Power+VolUp, etc. all haven't fixed the issue yet. This is the only thing holding me back from having this HTC One M7 available under T-Mobile. But it is a toughest hurdle!

Here are screenshots of what my phone is running. Perhaps there's something that needs to be patched? Although running the latest ViperOne ROM 8.0.0 I assume that this should include any previous hotfixes? Checking the ViperOne patches available on the phone all I saw was the one for the screen orientation sensor.
its funny i too have this issue only i discovered that if you plug headphones to make or receive a call once the call is active you can unplug headphones and still have audio , audio works normal for voip

[Q] voice call help

Hi,
I rooted my phone a while back, but after installing a custom kernel and ROM I began having problems with regular voice calls. I started hearing these noises and cracking while on call. I tried installing the ROM again, because i thought that something went wrong with the installation, but now i can`t hear anything while on regular call. What puzzles me is that sometimes after reboot my phone can`t even play music or any audio files and sometimes its working just fine. Also my viber voice calls are working fine i just have problem with the classic voice call. I have noticed that when i put my phone just on GSM mode it gets a little better / i can hear the beeps before the person i`m calling picks up/ but its still not a solution. I have tried to restore stock ROM and it didn`t work. Also I didn`t have s-off when the problem began if it`s of any significance. If someone has any idea how to help me I will be most grateful.
