Hi,
Does anyone know what this icon on the left side of the image that looks like a pause icon is for?

I cannot clearly make it out (a larger thumbnail screenshot would help), but as long as you can read and write to the SD card, I wouldn't bother about. Sometimes windows might decide to assign a custom icon to a removable drive.
I can't get it any bigger than this... Some time I couldn't do anything, every command I wanted to run on my phone it would say "permission denied" and this icon appeared the same time when I had this problem.
A little more info would help. What size is the SD card? I am assuming it is a 16 Gb. What is the drive formatted as, FAT32? I'm not sure, but 32-bit oses have issues addressing large fat32 devices. Have you tried taking the SD card out and mounting it in a reader? Did you format the SD card before installing it in the phone (I only ask because it looks like there is nothing on it).
A long shot, but is your Windows 7 installation fully updated? I know there was a hotfix for SDHC support in Windows 7. It appears your computer recognizes the size of the card but perhaps you need the hotfix to read/write? Should be in the "optional updates" section of Windows Update if you don't have it.
i would be interested in what the icon means as well.
is there possibly an autorun.inf in the root of the sdcard? any other partitions on the sdcard? bitlocker turned on? any autorun settings in use?

I had feeling that my X1 is responding slow, so i run benchmark with SKTools. I found results much lower than it should be:

Also when i click on windows folder it takes about minute to open it (while taking few seconds on friend X1). I applied all tweaks from Turbo Speed X1 thread, but i dont exclude option i messed up something when applying tweaks. Rom is stock.
Any ideas?
going into windows always takes a long time but only the first time one do it
so be sure that your friend didn't just cheat you
make him softreset it and then go into \windows
I tried myself on his X1 and it was taking long, no matter if i do soft reset or not.
Hi,
the benchmark with my X1 is similar to yours (a little bit faster)
main write 1950,48 kB/sec
main read 6137,86 kB/sec
card write 786,68 kB/sec
card read 6578,16 kB/sec
Here is only ONE solution:
FLASH with 6.1 [official] ROM and use tweaks for it.
After advanced conf tool

What a relief . But then why is SKTools reference information so high?
Which ROM is that?

Itje's Touch-It v13.2
I've tried it multiple times and it'll say it's stitching the pictures but then no image will actually show up in the gallery.
Do panorama shots work for anybody else?
I've had good luck with it. Just click and pan. I really like it.

The white spot in the center is smoke, but this was taken back in the SmurfCam days.
Sometimes it seems to fail, others it works. If it takes more than like 30 secs or so it'll probably fail. I've taken a number of sweet panoramas
Sent from my rooted xt860
Hmmm... It also seems to say "stitching captures" for about 45 seconds and then just returns to the camera app with no hint of a panorama having been saved anywhere.
I got it to work by switching the storage location of photos from SD card to Internal.
It seems to work every time on internal storage and not at all on the SD card.

I take that back.
I decided to move all my pictures and moved everything in the DCIM folder on my sd card to internal storage on the phone and then changed the settings in the camera to use internal storage. Panorama stopped working (it would say "stitching pictures" for 30+ seconds and then nothing would happen).... so I then switched the save location to sd card and it worked!
It seems my phone only likes to take panoramas when I set the camera to save them to a location other than where I take my usual regular single-shot pictures. Weird.
I use this feature extensively & both my still images & panorama are stored on sandisk class 4 sd card never ever it failed but I use samsung i9003
Dear friends,
I am hoping for some advice. I was looking to clear some space on my internal SD (the only storage I have) and was wondering if anyone can advise me on how to do so. Below you can see what my phones memory consists of at the moment.

As you can see there is a rather large 'other' section. Is this normal? I'm not really sure what might be in there other than the OS (RocketRom v3) and the zip files plus other odds and ends and it feels too big to be just that?
If it isnt normal then please let me know how I might be able to clean my internal SD up. I don't mind if it means reflashing the ROM.
Obviously I should just buy an external SD if I want space
Sorry for my jumbled post. I have been drinking a lovely bottle of red wine.

I think 2nd paragraph's 2nd sentence is your answer Apart from image, video, music files whatever else is there will be considered as Other. One Rom itself will be around 800MB (Rocket rom) which is almost 7% of 11GB. So, this rom+zip files+other files will be considered as Others, which will make "Others" look bigger
Have a look at this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.levelokment.storageanalyser
Very useful for detecting what's eating up your space. Maybe there are some left overs in android/data or obb. You'll recognise them by the grey icons.
Cheers, Markus
Couple of more apps.. SD Maid & Thumbnails File Deleter...for deleting thumbnails cache etc (/DCIM/.thumbnails/..)..
Rooted device, r/w to sd card enabled (can move apps).
Trying to use airdroid to copy media onto an external sd card, but it seems to not be able to "see" the external card. There's some menu where you're supposed to be able to see the sd card (middle image, http s://lh5.googleusercontent.com/kt4HmMCgmPVR9pOIdJv9YIuuS1j1EMDxt5Sdi-lgkQJnZAe_3YzTWqfl4fDpmqOYVk49SJibsNHjHsD_o8_fJiX0V83uB44EGv4n-ttqrmI6_f-lulxw4SVT-Iu29N_yCseoVbM), but this doesn't appear. The menu reads "Open from, and lists Recent, internal storage, or sd card as options, t=with the last one not present on my device. I was wondering if this is a restriction of the amazon OS, or a restriction of my intelligence. Thanks for any help.
If anyone can recommend another way to move media onto the external card wirelessly that'd work too.
You seem to trying to include an image but it's not a publicly viewable image.
You can use a file manager app to move files around.

1) Too few posts to share links, so I broke it on purpose.
2) Yes, I can use a file manager, but I want the ease of drag and drop, wirelessly.

I believe that's marketed for devices that don't have native wifi, e.g., a camera.
Recently, I have been trying to download some games and after 3 years of having this phone, I got a warning that my storage was full. I never bothered to check the storage of the device since I got it since I thought I wouldn't need to check it.
It said my storage was almost full, meanwhile I tried to analyze the storage files and apps and all that with 3 different apps (File Manager of Asus, Google FIles and SDmaid), and all my files occupy less than 40gb while my device says the total amount of storage my phone has is 128gb. I barely have any apps that occupy too much space on it. Also to note, this isnt the Tencent version, it's the WW, never flashed ROM on it, it runs the latest OS from Asus. How is that possible? Here is an example:

Hi, it's strange that 0b is showing for applications... The only thing I can recommend is to delete everything you don't need on your phone. "Other" takes up almost 19GB. Try to remove it somehow. I know you probably expected a different answer, but this is my solution :/ or you can reset the phone to factory settings and everything will be deleted on your phone and you will have a completely clean phone again like when you turned it on for the first time. Don't forget to back up your photos, contacts and everything you need.
