A cubical job. Where you go and sit in a cubical and have your own desktop and a BlackBerry for your job and you wear a suit everyday with a nice view over DownTown Chicago and you travel a lot to foreign places with good food.
What kinda positions have this?
Hmmm. Managing director doesn't have to work in a cubicle, they get an office with a view
To get a job like that, how about IT Manager, or Director of Technology? Trouble with other jobs would be lack of foreign travel (you need to be at management level or above to get some of the best hotels)

Insurance Agent...I did it for a while..Still have the license
I had a cubicle job once. I worked for a telemarketing firm selling credit cards (cold calls, called 3 dead people my first day). I have since worked for a company doing electronic assembly and testing, as well as several auto shops. Currently I drive for a tire wholesaler and I love it.
I get to see the most beautiful state upclose:

Tarheels all the way. We have been up and down this season but things are looking up under Davis. I hate Florida, so I was upset Tech lost...plus being from Texas I would prefer a Texas team be in the BCS championship.
Ya, i feel you. it sucked when we lost that game earllier this season and dropped from number one. We have a great team this year i would have loved to see them go undefeated.

College and NFL fan here. I'm a native Coloradoan so I'm a Broncos, Avs, Nuggets and Rockies fan.
Graduated from CSU (Colorado State Univ) and still go to Rammies home games in Fort Collins.....definitely not a powerhouse like OU, Texas and company but we've got some tough conference teams with Utah and BYU now. Hopefully the program will keep progressing and moving forward.
Anyhow, I always watch the Big 12, 10, SEC and ACC games and have followed the BCS mess with OU, Texas and TTU this year. Don't know who should go to the championship game but I think OU and Texas are better teams than TTU as of today. Too bad OU and Texas couldn't play for the Big 12...whoever plays Mizzou will likely win by a good margin.
Good luck to your Sooners in the BCS!
Big win for my Broncos on the road against the NY Jets...plus San Diego lost so we're looking good in the weak AFC West.

I can't agree with soccer being better, they are both physically exhausting. I played both throughout school, soccer more. But, i can totally agree that soccer can wear you down. Running up and down that damn field game after game always hurt, especially in the cold. But it was worth it all for the MVP trophy!
Well well looks like OK is number 2. Hopefully your boys can beat Mizz and go against Alabama for the championship.

i've played both and i wouldn't say either is better..... they both have there "advantages" and "disadvantages" (soccer and football)
i will have to say though that i think the hardest sport out there is wrestling by far....
Try cutting 30 to 40 pounds in two or three weeks to get down to 7 percent body fat (the lowest allowed) and then be able to even stand up..... much less wrestle someone the same strength as you, i breaks down to technique and who wants to get there hand raised in the end more..... its a really mental sport, its all about who will break first
Wrestling is not the hardest sport out there, at least for me. I've been learning wushu in Beijing for 5 years and I must say that wushu kung fu is one of the hardest sport. Yeah i know wushu involves wrestling but the forms comprise basic movements are stances, kicks, punches, balances, jumps, sweeps and throws. You could be a bodybuilder, weight over 700 pounds and you will see yourself on the ground trying to beat someone who knows kung fu..
Dude that play Bradford did was one of those hold your breath and hope he isn't dead...LOL. At least when they chocked against Boise St. it was one of the best games in college football.

colligiant wrestling is the same way, that why i like it. I like sports that require more than just steroids to be a champ at. Obviously i'm not say lifting or getting big are a bad thing, i still like football obviously, but its refreshing to have sports where its not JUST about how hard you can hit someone but about what you know and how good your technique is.
you can put someone twice as strong as someone with good technique, and in wrestling the person with better technique will win everytime.

So true... truly an epic game with a fantastic finish. It really doesn't get much better than games like that. Even when not a fan of either team, you can appreciate how awesome the level of play from both teams was. Great to go back and watch it
People all over the world, let's have a chat about the wonderful game of football? Or soccer as the Americans call it?
I love it personally (obviously otherwise there would be no point to this thread!)
My home team is Stoke City FC, and yes, I know, we've been getting some real bad press lately ever since the unfortunate leg-break incident (which, I accept it was reckless and a really bad tackle, but absolutely not intentional!!)
Also, who do you think will win the World Cup this summer? I personally cannot wait for it!! Sitting in my garden in the sun, with a nice cold glass of Apple Cider, watching the World Cup on TV!
I'm excited by the world cup as well.....its so open this year as a number of great teams that could win it. Looking forward to sitting in the sun and watching it (on holiday during part of world cup)
Rick
p.s. I support Liverpool....been a bad season, hopefully with a better finish
well i am a barca fan, and play for my college football team.
dont really enjoy watching matches on tv....
i rather prefer to play.......
I'm a Norwich city fan and looking forward to the world cup almost as much as being promoted at the end of the season!

A proud Galatasaray fan here. Must say that i started to lose faith in it cause of the riggings lately...
I'm not really into football, but still watch the world cup...
...an what's for sure: Germany will win!
I'm an Arsenal fan. Going on current form i'd say this years WC will go to either Brasil or Spain.
im a long standing arsenal fan...GO GUNNERSSSS
world cup is gonna be amazing but i think spain and england will once again underacheive and lose in either the quarters or semis. not sure who i want to win since france (i support them) doesnt look likely to win. I just want a great competition with lots of flair and goals
I am a Liverpool fan, good to see no one is slagging others here.

As for who will win the world cup....personally I think its open this year. A lot of strong teams and some of the bigger names under achieving (Italy, Argentina) in qualifiers.
Best bet would be one of the following........Brazil, Spain, England, Germany
One team which should be there is Ireland........what happened to Ireland was a disgrace IMHO......FIFA should be ashamed as well as France & Thiery Henry
I played football since I was 6 yeras old. Two days ago I returned from hospital after my first knee surgery and now I am waiting for second surgery. :/
Sometimes football can be really painfull.
BTW, lets see how will my home country(Slovakia) struggle on their first world cup.

How come?
Just seen this and thought id share..
At just over seven feet wide and 47 feet long, this tiny building is one of the smallest functioning homes in the world.
The 312-square foot 'Little House' of Toronto, Canada, has developed a cult following and even has its own website.
Back on the property market for £110,000, the comfortable home surprisingly comes with three rooms, including a normal sized bathtub.

It's so itty bitty! The infamous 'Little House', squashed between two other grown up house on a Toronto street
Living large: The living area and TV room of the Little House - just seven feet wide
With a front drive that parks two family sized cars - even though the house itself is barely big enough to swing a cat round - it still comes with all amenities.
Sitting on Day Ave in Toronto's Little Italy, the home has been viewed almost 40 times since it went on the market.
It is described in the estate agents guide as a 'unique home in good condition overall and has been well maintained'.
Compact kitchen: The cooking/laundry area of the Little House
Good storage: The 47-foot long house has a wee back garden also
Just enough room for two (and a bottle of wine): The garden area of the Little House
As well as its ample 2.36m-high ceilings, the Little House also has a decent sized basement for storage space.
'The interior of the house seems much more expansive than the small exterior,' said real estate agent Antonio Nardi.
'It has a full bathroom, a kitchen and a decent sized bedroom with a fold up bed that gives more room when up.
'This is a great and historic purchase.'
Built in 1912, the Little Home has become a celebrity in its own right over the past 98 years.
Talk show host Ellen Degeneres has even expressed an interest in one day owning the Little House.
Blink and you'll miss it: Little House as it appears on Google Street View
Its so cute!!!!!
It is so cute!! I wish I have a cute house like that...
I'd like to go in there and test that statement of not being able to swing a cat around...by the paw...tail...whiskers...
Expensive!!
Wow!
For that money you can buy this one in México

I've lived in a mobile home.
so, since there's 0 people here that would actually know who i am, or recognize my screen name, i figured i'd share this anyways since it's a huge thing for me and my family.
in 1980 i started bmx racing. now, my oldest son has been racing for 3 years and now my 5 and 2 year olds have started racing this year. at the beginning of this year, i was asked to be a part of a committee in building a large indoor racing facility about an hour away from our house.
we planned, we built and we opened october 15th.
what we built was a national pro-am track, a super cross track and bike shop under 1 roof. we will have week long training programs for kids 8-17. we will have weekend clinics for training, hold regular race weekends and will be open during the week days for practice.
it's been a long year and a lot of work, but it all paid off opening day when we had nothing but great reviews of the track from riders.
we still have a lot of work, and we are currently closed again to repair some roof sections. right now, i am designing the network for the building and we will have login so when riders arrive, they can login to the network, which will sign them in for racing and charge them the race fees. making registration simple. we will also have large monitors to display race info as well as live cams setup at various sections of the track to broadcast on the monitors and eventually live stream on the internet as well. i'm hoping to have all of this done by the time we reopen in a couple of weeks.
anyhow, here are some pics of the building and from opening day

Cool! Nice video and great music! Big thumbs up!
I have been working on a project to launch an Andrew Bell Collectible Android Figurine aboard a model rocket and "return him safely to earth" (in the spirit of the NASA Apollo missions). The rocket is named "Android1" and the Android Figurine is referred to as an "As-droid-naut". Anyway - I've had three successful launches of the rocket and the "as-droid-naut". The latest launch was this past weekend and I crushed my previous telemetry! 1438' @ 226 mph experiencing 13.3g's! Though I'd share the pix and vids with yinz.
I put together a website (personal - no ads - no money making stuff) to document it all: http://www.ANDRAC.co
Last weekend's flight: YouTube
Pix & Telemetry of the three flights are at: ANDRAC-mission-gallery - ANDRAC
Got some amazing (lucky) shots of the Android (As-droid-naut) ejecting @ 1438' in the Encore Flight. Here is my favorite (the nose cone is trailing the rocket now, because of the ejection event IE: nose cone pops off to allow chutes and As-droid-naut ejection):

That's something I've wanted to get into but never had the money. RC trucks. Uncle raced em for a bit, got to drive his, but that's as far as I've gotten.
Hobby lobbies around here don't have much selection. They don't even have multi stage rockets anymore. They don't even have the booster engines if you wanted to buy for the rockets you had from old. Haven't really checked into the hobby shops for em though. But man building your own and making multi stage rockets that separate in pieces is the awesome. It's just a progression. You'll get there if you stick with it. Wanting bigger and higher. Then you build something like this guy did. Addicting man.

rc is very addicting also and it does cost a lot thats one of the reasons i stopped doing it. i had sh!t tones of money in the jato, my revo was only half done. but now if my lil boy wants to do it when he gets older im a master builder now so we can fly right into it lol!
Careful - rocket launching seriously addictive!!! It jacks with your mind too - Every field I drive by now becomes a possible launch site candidate and I immediately start looking for power lines, high buildings, launch obstacles, etc.
Thanks for the kind words!
What is the legality of launching model rockets? Do you have to let the FAA and/or local authorities know about this? Also I'm pretty sure I'd get busted here in NYC for launching something like that, but I remember launching bottle rockets back in Junior High, and mine flew the highest.

If it goes a certain height, then you need FAA approval. But 99% of what you and me will ever deal with is totally legal.
Actually, here is how the "rocket science" of flying rockets works - it is not just altitude, but also power: http://www.doug79.com/stuff/HPR_metric9c.pdf
