[Q] Answers to Basic Questions - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

Where do you go on this forum to find answers to very basic questions about the Android SDK interface? I am new to all of this so how about a little help?
WoW... I'm really impressed with the non-replies to my question. You all had to start somewhere to get where you are. I am just starting and could use some help.

nand flash, help!!!

I downloaded the nomorootfs zip file containing everything to flash android to my phone from the flashable linux and android thread but there is no nbh file or initrd. Do I just put those in there? And I want to use myn's build so can I just reaplace the androidinstall.tar with his? I have no clue what to do and I realy don't want to mess my phone up. I have a sprint touch. Please explain how to do this like your explaining it to an idiot lol thank you
why start a new thread just to ask how to flash android? there are numerous tutorials on how to do this in this very forum. You will probably not get much of an answer to your question because the answers already exist with a little reading. I have found hiccups during this process but nothing a little reading didnt help. sorry to be blunt but this forum is getting out of hand with starting new threads for simple questions. next time ask in myns thread.
I have asked several times but noone ever replies so I figured making a new thread would help. And I've read other forums but I just don't understand them. Sorry

[Q] Voodoo - Install and Uninstall

Hi all,
Sorry if this has been asked before, but there are so many posts its hard to sift through them all.
I've been to project voodoo's web site and found that I can download the update.zip file put it in the main directory, then install it via recovery mode.
Is there anything extra to it? Root phone?
If i want to uninstall it, how do I do it?
Is there a tutorial based on this? Or another thread?
Thanks guys!

I know what you mean... you just want the instructions plain and simple with no cmd language to it... kinda need a a-z guide. All the info is on the Voodoo home page, but imo it needs to be broken down a little more for the novice user, and become more open source as it should be and not like a ubuntu forum with geek language lol - geek language just frightens people away..

I don't see any mention of having to root the phone... Is that true?

You may have more replies asking on that thread as it is specific to it or in the Q&A section rather than here in the General section.
i dont think u deserve an answer, perhaps you should learn how to use your search function!
Found most answers what about odin? where do i download that?

First read the sticky threads (you would have seen this should be posted in the Q&A thread) and then spend a week reading all other threads (it would have answered your question). In the end, whether you need to update something is all up to yourself and your preferences...if you're wondering whether to update: don't do it. Updating is only done when you have specific reasons to update (speed, other features, skinning, newer stuff).
Furthermore... search the forum - you will find a howto too
Good luck!
Regards,
Nika.

[Q] Root using Ubuntu

Helo all.
This is one of my first posts here so i apologise in advance if this isn't the correct place to make this question.
I've been researching about performing rooting on my LG Black and I found out that there are some software that it is required, windows software. Is there a way to do it on Ubuntu?
Ty!
If you have GB then no. Install win on vm. Problem solved.
I have Froyo.
So its simple:
1. Learn to read
2. Start using google
hi
please try this
I've adapted blackjack's process for linux systems and included a readme text file, please let me know if it works so I'll share
dflt there is no need for that attitude. I have read quite a lot and I've searched google, or else i wouldn't be here asking this. Didn't find any place with precise information about this subject.
Ilko ty, I'll check it and get to you about it later!
