Have been running CyanogenMod 6.1 for a few days and every couple of hours in will just reboot itself. It seems to happens when the phone is not in use. Any ideas?
Do you have it overclocked? If so how high? If mine is clocked above 740 it'll start acting funny. I set it to 691 and have no reboots anymore
No I have not over-clocked it. I just installed 6.1 right over 6 stable and have not done anything else.

Try wiping dalvik from recovery and reflashing the rom. If that doesn't solve the problem, it may be necessary to wipe data and dalvik, and reflash the rom and gapps.
Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Froyo-on-Hero action here!

Hello
I just flashed my g1 phone with CM 5.0.7 and it seems that the battery runs out pretty fast. So I wanna downgrade to 4.2.15.1. How is that ROM anyway?
Do I just flash it with the new rom? should I do anything like wipe? and what should I wipe cuz I have more than one option when i click on wipe?
fyi: I have RA Dream 1.6.2
Thanks in advance
you should be able to wipe the first 2 then flash your rom.
some people don't bother and just wipe all 5 though.
doing all 5 will not hurt.
4.2.15.1 is very stable and a good daily rom
wipe and follow this
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php/Main_Page#Upgrading_from_Vanilla:_Installing_your_first_mod
Can anyone please post a screenshot of the 4.2.15.1. or at least describe it
thanks

Its a very basic Donut Rom just like all the others out there. if you want something flashy thats nice and fast I would go with SuperD 1.11 or SuperFast 1.3.3. Both of which are awesome. HTClay did an awesome job with SuperFast he just added JIT and it has a lot of eye candy.

Dunno if this got answered... WIPE EVERYTHING using armon's recovery. If you need to go to cyanogens wiki and there is step by step instructions on how to install 4.2 you can pretty much start from the begining with that one if you have an extra thirty minutes. With 4.2 you dont need the danger spl or the ext partitions eitehr but its like trying to ride a dog compared to a pony... if you know what i mean...

Sorry, I hate to hijack the dude's thread, but he seems to have gotten the help he needs, and this is on subject. Anti-subject, anyway, but I am having a lot of trouble with 4.2.15.1 and Gapp force closes. No matter how many time I reflash, flash back to ADP 1.6 then to the ROM, and wipes. Nothing seems to change it, would 4.2.13 be more stable?
no but super d 1.11 would be

I am getting the same Force Closes on Super D 1.11, too! However, if I go to the Rooted HTC 1.6 ROM, I can run it with no problems. How the hell am I getting so many FC's with a wipe and fresh ROM install?
For what it's worth I'm running the CM 5.0.7- T4 and my G1's battery lasts over a day now. It's overclocked and has ADW, so I feel like it's pretty impressive.
I also put the 2.22.23.02 radio on, I don't think that had anything to do with the battery issue, but just in case it did I'm posting that bit if info. haha
When I look through my software information after I have tried to install a new Kernal, nothing ever changes I believe. I dont think I am installing it right. I just do the same as I do with a ROM. Also, the PRI version is still from the first ROM I ever flashed which is Flip's Fresh Hero. Any way to change it or its fine as is?
Right now I am running NFX-Hero 2.2.1 and I am trying to flash Nfinitefx45_v4_691 Kernal. Do I need to first somehow remove the previous one or is it because I need a specific program for it to work?
Any other good Kernals that you would recommend?
Yeah try Decad3nce's Decafuct CFS #589 691 MHZ Flash that kernel, report back

flipz_01. I guess it came with the fresh hero Rom. or maybe I installed it from his page. don't remember.
Well you could do a nandroid of what you are running now ,then flash nfinite's .2 stk rom see if that changes it . Or un root update to .2 update then reroot(not my first choice) up to you.

im on di11igafs 5.2 newest rom with Firebirds newest kernel flashed. I want to switch to SetrioNs kernel here for some good overclocking. I am unsure which to use and what the difference between his normal and XT versions are. i tried flashing the newest 1.6ghz XT SetrioNs but it freaked out my phone even in recovery menu after 20 seconds it would freeze up after about 20 seconds. Do i need to disable the lagfix in the recovery menu and or something else first? any help would be greatly appreciated . Thanks

Thats not what I asked about nor did I try to set it at 1.6 ghz. The phone wouldnt even boot long enough for me to change the voltage control settings. So I suppose i should rephrase my question so I dont get another answer like this one. I would like to use SetrioNs kernel, im using Firebirds kernel right now. Are there any steps i need to take in order to properly flash setrions kernel so that i dont have the problems I had previously?

Party pooper.
I know right? Woot woot.
Ok, sorry man. Honestly I would suggest downloading the Paragon rom and yanking the kernel out of that. It is much more up to date and allows oc.as high as 1.6. I have used that one without issue. Haven't tried setirons in quite a while so I don't know what may be going on.
Easiest way is to just put the rom zip in your sd card then use sgs kernel flashed app and select the rom zip. It will extract the kernel and flash it for you. Might want to disable lagfix first as sometimes problems occur when jumping back and forth between firebird and others.
Use voltage control 3.0 to control that kernel as well.

Ah! Thank You Thats exactly what i was looking for. I only have one question left. If i pull the kernel out of the rom will it be in .tar form? Thanks again
The kernel will be zimage. You can just copy that file straight to your sd card and the kernel flasher app will work with that as well.
Also it would seem that paragon is now using speedmods kernel. would you happen to be able upload the kernel you are using for me?
Give me a few.. have to get off the couch

Hey, i just updated to CM7.0.3 from Nookie Froyo. With froyo it was clocked at 1100Mhz and it was very snappy. However, CM7 is limited to a max speed of 925Mhz which is ok, but it doesnt seem right since i just flashed the latest kernal. So far i have tried reinstalling the rom+kernal, clearing the dalvik, and so on but it still has not changed. I had even installed the latest uboot 1.2(says Reading Forever on boot). What am i doing wrong?
Every time you flash a CM7 Nightly or CM7 Stable which both have their own kernels maxed at 925, you then have to re-flash the separate Overclock kernel to 1.1 (stable) or to 1.3 (test builds). From your post not sure if that was done. Once you do that, then you can change the speed in CM7.

I think all builds released after Nightly 61 on May 5th (including Stable 7.0.3) will need the modified kernel.
Worse case scenario: if it doesn't boot, hold the Nook button + power while turning on, then let go, get into recovery, re-flash 7.0.3 and you'll be back to where you were.
Thanks man, but doesn't seem to really work. It just shows the word "Android" horizontally on the left side of the screen, and then it shows a tiny white dash in the top right corner(held vertically). Then it just stays that way. Hate to take up your time, but any ideas about that?

Restore your last nandroid and flash the latest version of Clockwork 3.0.2.8, I suspect that you still are using 3.0.1. I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago, then use the kernel attached in the post above and it absolutely should work.

Hmm, maybe the stable is still on the original 04/24 ?
Here's the original one:

update-CM7-dalingrin-OC-emmc-042411.zip
Otherwise, try the latest nightly perhaps? (With the modified ext4 0424 kernel)
I'm running Nightly 74 with the modified ext 4 kernel without issues.

I am getting the same exact results on 7.03 stable. My nook is 4 days old, went straight to this build. Booting from SD card
The nightly build 74 did the trick! It finally shows the other frequencies. I cant thank you enough!

My i9001 while I am using it normally..it freezes and then restart on its own!! I am on broodrom RC4 and I can't manage to know what exactly the problem is!! Any help?
Have you tried a wipe?
Have you tried it with another Rom?
Is it only Broodrom?
Go into recovery (cwm or feamod which ever u use) wipe the data and the dalvik then reboot into the andriod os and see if that removes the random reboot issue but if this doesnt help then u need to flash with an another custom ROM. and see if the problem remains
