going through hell trying to unlock my vibrant, i have included the bin file if anyone can help me out
thank you
you should post on the Vibrant forums - there are many unlock methods posted there in addition to what is posted here.
What methods have you tried?
EDIT - Try this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831569
This method works if some of your NV_Data.bin is encrypted and unlock code can't be found. A similar method worked for me. This is posted on the vibrant forums too.

Here is my first post I obtained the code from AT&T, this does not require any loading of software.
Needed:
1.) SIM card other than AT&T, with no puk code or pin #
2.) code 55397951 (may be IMEI specific)
*warning, if the code does not work, do not try again, the phone will be permanantly locked after 5 trys.
If successful it will say Unlock code passed.
Enjoy,
Usually..... it's IMEI specific.....
Welcome to XDA!
This code is IMEI specific . That being said, there are free tools for unlocking the Tilt available on this site .
When you have a moment, read up on the Kaiser Wiki (linked in my sig). It will teach you all that is necessary for customizing and modding your new toy.

Don't get discouraged. If after reading and searching you can't find, feel free to PM me or other users. Most accept PMs and don't mind it. Or if you can't find your answer and there is no existing thread, go ahead and create your own
lighten up guys
anyone interested in verifying this? It's a thread in Defy forum. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=992901

Useful info is in page 5 here (skips past the pm junk):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=992901&page=5
En ways the more detail to your post would be nice, such as if your wishing to verify it for Defy then I hope you already know your in the wrong section and were asking weather this was plausible for the Atrix to be honest there isn't enough info in this post or the original link you provided in-fact their waiting on more info from the OP...and there is a thread for Boot loader cracking development for devs working on it already within this section for the Atrix

Someone needs to get in touch with Da_G and see if he knows about it.
Sent from my Atrix (in Australia)
Ill talk to him in a few.

If what is described in that other thread is true, and the signature verification compares a private key against the public version stored on the partition, then this just may work. The author claims to have tested this on his Defy and successfully unlocked the bootloader... I'm not holding my breath, but it doesn't mean I'm not hopeful
EDIT: And sadly, the poster said he made a mistake when testing and that it's not successful like once thought.
edit: found my answer.
Anyone familiar with using SBF-recalc tool in regards to our phones or in general. Please get in contact with me. Trying to retain root after SBF by getting rid of a CG and repackaging the sbf. Or if you know any other tool (maybe written in English) that can accomplish the same thing.
Yes I've PM'd Himself. Still waiting on response but I figure I'd ask here too.
links to newer version of the sbf-recalc also welcome, have only found 1.2.9 and it keeps asking for 1.3.1
edit: found sbf depacker 1.3 works better but still get error trying to repack sbf even with no edits.
Found one here

Glad it worked for you. The index is in the development forum, might be handy though if there was another copy in this forum as it seems to be the place to go for help
Hi
I am trying to learn how to root and it seems to be harder than i thought.
I am really new in this, but i found this video: (i cant post outside links but this is the code for Youtupe) watch?v=2eNTWzz4RMU
Before i try, i thought id ask if this videos info is valid and it is a good way to do it.
Thanks.

Follow the philz method instead.
I haven't seen the video.
Exynos abuse apk or installing philz kernel for rooting
