Maybe using Kies + reghack and ProductCode from Orange? Check http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=Samsung_Galaxy_S_Series#Samsung_Kies
I used Kies + reghack and ProductCode from Orange, Kies downloading and flash firmware update, but after reboot there is some kind of problem and the phone freezes ...

Hi,
Last week, I bought an unbranded Galaxy S on a well known French Site. The phone was unbranded.
I installed the Kies software, and when I plugged my phone Kies told me I could update the firmware. I updated the firmware, and when I restarted the phone, it was not in french anymore, but the language was set to portugese, and my phone was branded for the TMN operator in Portugal.
I'm still able to use my phone with my sim card from belgium, but my phone is full with undesired logos and apps.
I've seen that it's possible to reflash an offficial ROM in the phone, but my version of Kies won't let me do this anymore.
I'd like to update to the latest unbranded French/belgian/The nertherlands version.
Is this still possible? I've found some ProductCode, but I was unable to find a corresponding HIDSWVER.
Thanks!

Hmmm... Sonuds to me like whoever you bought it from had flashed it so that it wiuld seem like it was unbranded but in reality it was a TMN device all along.
I believe that if you have upgraded your kies version to the _100 version then the registry trick will no longer work so you would have to flash it with odin.
If anyone else can chime in or if im wrong then please correct me.

I doubt someone flashed it as i had an original brand new unopened box. It was certainly not second hand.

Well its awfully odd that after flashing to the official froyo firmware on kies that it would just all of a sudden become branded.
Think about this... People use odin and even rhe reghack on kies to upgrade to "unbranded" firmware so it would only make sense that if you flashed using kies official firmware that it would revert the device to its original and branded status.

Unfortunately, that is possible We got many such a reports about phones bought in Polish markets, see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=8927826&postcount=92
Is Poland some phones were debranded and re-selled by mobile operators to markets. Unfortunately phones didn't get clean ProductCode and that way Kies updated firmware using version for original mobile network operator.
What about downgrading Kies and then doing the reg hack to reflect an unbranded earlier version of the firmware for your region and flashing through Kies again??
Same happened to me, bought the international version at handtec.co.uk, got the phone shipped to Mexico, and first upgrade I did on KIES installed a TMN branded firmware.
I didn't like the branded firmware, specially with all that SAPO apps, I rooted phone, installed titanium backup and deleted all apps, now only problem I have is a dancing "t" character showing on startup and shutdown.
Haven't found the reason for this, or the way to change to a unbranded UK firmware.

This should work. Check the codes for your country either that or reflash it with odin

The solution is written almost in every thread on this forum in last 4-5 days:
You have to downgrade to the older version of Kies, then make changes in the registry:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\DeviceDB\4]
"SoftwareRevision"="I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3"
"ProductCode"="GT-I9000HKDXEU"
"HIDSWVER"=""
"DEVCONINFO"=""
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies\]
"LocalVer"="1.5.3.10103.100"
Then you should be offered to upgrade to unbranded JPO for UK
You would need to flash back to your original vodafone software, as that is what kies is looking for.
I got the text from Vodafone this morning but Kies says
"Current Version: PDA: JM1/PHONE:JG6/CSC:JG7
This device's version cannot be updated"
Could this have something to do with the fact that I originally updated to the Nordic Froyo in September via a registry hack and then went back to JM1 via Odin flashing?
I was hoping I could return to branded official Vodafone Firmware incase I need to return under warranty.
i have same problem, was instal froyo from here now have I9000XXJP2 and can update to official froyo pleas help
On the suggestion of somebody in a different thread I reflashed to JM1 firmware and now the error message is
"Current Version: PDA: JM1/PHONE:JM1/CSC:JM1
This device's version cannot be updated"
Anyone got any ideas?

How would I do that?
forget kies. install the rom separately from samfirmware.com. get yourself odin to do it.

I have actually done this now, but I was hoping to return to Vodafone branded firmware in case I need to return under warranty.

i'm sure someone on here will get there hands on it eventually and publish a link.
You need to an older version of kies and search on here for the kies registry patcher. Check out the vodafone eforum for a how to.

I wonder what determines the upgrade information through Kies?
for example, my phone is from UK orange and locked orignially. The production code is i9000HKDORA. Original firmware: BVJM5/BVJM1/ORAJM3
Does Kies only search the firmware based on the production code only? or need other information together, such as current firmware information?
My current firmware is: XXJF1/XXJF1/XAJF1. I cannot upgrade through Kies although Orange announced the new firmware is available through Kies.
Thanks,
product code = goes to the correct server for Orange
Current firmware code decides upgrade or not .
Both need to orange codes to upgrade .
jje
Well, the upgrade exists for austria/3 now, but I cannot upgrade...
My product code was HKDDBT originally, and even if I change it (nv_data.bin) to the "correct" one - HKDDRE, and have the same firmware version as my dad (who was able to update), it won't let me upgrade...
So, we've called the service center and they said they have no idea, but I can bring in my phone and they'll update it...
So... I guess they do it randomly...

I am not an Orange user and have no Orange firmware .
If you have flashed to unofficial non Orange firmware you need to downgrade the phone via ODIN to Eclair then try to update to latest Orange firmware via KIES firmware update .

As long as you flashed it with an offical version you should be fine.
I now have a I-9305 with T-Mobile Software on it, but I like to flash the original S3 I9305 Firmware (I9305XXBME1_I9305PHNBME2_PHN) on it to get rid of the bloatware. Is this possible? I've downloaded the firmware but I am, probably due to KNOX, unable to flash this firmware and it gives me a NAND Write error. Flashing the original firmware goes fine.
I'm not new to Android, but I'm unfamiliar with Samsung S3 devices. I know tools like Odin, Recovery and Download-mode.
Thanks!
Bump... Any clue how I can get generic software on this baby ?!
Simply flash via Odin, should work. But why BME2, when you have much newer 4.3 firmwares?

I have tried flashing through ODIN, but Knox Bootloader prevents me to do so. I have downloaded this firmware from Sammobile. The 4.1.2 version from TNL flashes normally, so I think that the bootloader prevents me to flash a generic Firmware.
Where can I download the newest Firmware for i-9305 for the Netherlands (I don't want a foreign Firmware, just the NL Firmware)?

You sure? Sounds weird cause as far as I know, KNOX was only introduced for our phone since android 4.3
And even if you have the new bootloader with KNOX, it shouldn't be a problem in my opinion. I have the new bootloader as well and flashing, via Odin and recovery, isn't a problem at all.
You can download any 4.3 version you want, this won't afact your phone at all and your language will remain Dutch

Hee man,
Op Sammobile zou ik als ik jou was de nieuwste duitse 4.3 firmware downloaden (je kan alsnog alles in het nederlands doen) als je stock rom wil tenminste. Hoezo wil je geen custom rom eigenlijk?
Thanks guys!
I've now flashed the original NL Firmware. Mobile ODIN has done the trick! With Odin under Windows, I get a failure at once, but with Mobile Odin, everything is fine. Now I have the original 4.3 PHN Firmware flashed on this device, exactly as I want. This Phone is only a spare one and should be as original as possible.
Thanks for your support!
