Probably your hspl version is wrong related to your flashed ROM version ...
thanks for your reply. could you point me as to how to fix this?

Hello to everyone,
I am new to XDA, I just bought my second HTC phone about 5 days ago. I had a V1605 with Vodafone and loved WM and now the HD.
The HD is Orange customised and I would like to ask you guys If I could flash the ROM with a HTC original ROM(SIM free version) and get rid of all the orange bits on it.
IE: start up Splash Screen
And is there any way I could remove the Orange logo off the back of the phone??
That's all, many thanks !!
Adi
First use the forum search
As i hate people that just post that, i will give you a clue
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=431217
Then pick a rom for the HD from the forum list, Duttys is always a good one.
Please not that you will void your warrany if you send it back to orange modded, you can restore it if you need to send it back.
I am sorry, as I said "new to xda", I did look around but did not know what ROM to pick so I asked for a bit of help, is it that much of a crime? I never flashed a ROM before... A bit more understanding takes you a long way.
Many thanks for your quick reply.
Adi
PM me if you need help..
I assume you're romanian...
Being new to xda can be a really pain in the ass.. If you aren't known around these forums it can be really hard to find anything here..
But when i read your post i see that you are asking for a "SIM free" rom .. You can't remove the sim lock by installing another rom.. But you can, as you are also asking, remove the orange branding ..
My suggestion is that, if you can't find the rom you are using as a install file, so that you can return to that if you flash another rom, you should dump the one on your phone first. But if you want another rom you need to flash hard spl first .. Take a look here and read it .. it should give you a better understanding ..

Once you have flashed the hard slp the world is yours, if you want the htc rom you cant get it from here
http://www.duttythroy.net/download-area.html?func=fileinfo&id=293
I wouldnt flash it becuse you will need to install the fixes and its rather slow
I would go for duttys HD 1.7 rom, its got all the fixes installed and tweaked.
But if you need a hand just pm me or grab me on the old msn [email protected]
YAY!!
Many thanks all!!
I've made it! Oh God I am hard work.
Cheers!!
I managed to get the new Splash Screen on, but after that the Orange original Flash Splash Screen follows. Any way I can remove that??

Believe me, once you get the hang of flashing and understand the improvements a custom ROM can make, you will want a lot more as just getting rid of the Splash Screen....
So guys, is there a way to delete the fancy Orange splash screen or do I need to do a complete ROM flash instead of just a splash screen flash?
Like I said above I did flash a new screen splash but after that I also get the original Orange one. I'm guessing that not the splash screen itself but just a flash file on the ROM. True?
Many thanks for your patient.
Adi
You're not providing much info:
i presume you flashed dutty?
and from your comments dutty didn't package a new splash screen. So you'll have to use custom RUU to flash a new splash screen
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=435110
p.s. I know it might seem cruel telling you to use search etc... but with such amazing resources:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Blackstone
created by people of this forum which answers most of your questions... it gets immensely frustrating
Thank you!!
OK all, I managed to finally install a new HTC ROM(Linked from XDA ofc) and it's all working perfect, with all the futures that I wanted.
I would like to thank you all once again for helping and make me understand how WM 6.1 and ROM Flashing are working.
Adi
Am si eu nevoie de ajutor in a gasi un rom pe care sa mi mearga aplicatia igo 8
L am incercat pe cel al lui Dutty V 1.7 dar nu am reusit nik
I am trying to find information regarding the Rom that is on my HTC 8925.
When the phone boots up I do have a splash screen that says Dutty's Series.
I go into Settings>System>Device Information to find:
ROM version: Touch v6.1 WWE
ROM date: 02/19/08
Radio Version: 1.70.OliNex
Protocol version: 25.65.30.04h
What ROM do I have and where can I have find some information regarding this ROM? I have done some searches for Touch v6.1 WWE and Dutty v6.1 WWE, but to no avail.
Thank you in advance.
from the ROM date and the fact that u have a dutty's splash screen (which doesnt really accurately show what rom you are using) this would most likely be your rom.

any btw your radio is a patched radio that's used for unlocking. u might wanna update that

Thank you for responding.
How do I update my radio?
I am pretty green, when it comes to modifying anything like this. Plus, I do not want to do anything that I could possibly render my phone useless for awhile, since I do not know what I am doing.
Thank you for your assistance.
Radio Upgrade
Do I really need to upgrade my radio?
I am frankly scared to death to do anything like this with my phone in the fear of bricking it.
Thank you.

Ill help you out. What you do is go into the radio thread and down load a different radio. I use 1.65.21.18 with Josh's new 6.5 super ram. When you download the file it will show up like a new rom. Flash it like you would a rom. and you are done. It really is trial and error to find the one that works best in your area. If you need any more help just let me know. I was the new guy not to long ago so I feel your pain. While in the radio thread read all the posts when you can and it will help.

If everything is working ok for you then not really but the right radio will help with batt life and signal. Are you having any issues at all?

I have only had the phone about a month, so I am just trying to get use to it. So, If I am having trouble with signal and/or battery, I may not know it as of yet.
Once again, I am very leary about flashing.
I was to My first time, but once you learn how and get used to it you will love trying out different roms

I know exactly how you feel Grey, but I thought sod it, best bet (someone correct me if i am wrong) hold down the camera key and hold in the soft reset button. If it comes up with the tricolour screen and it says something like SPL-1.0.OliPof. If that comes up the scary bit has been done and someones already put HardSPL on the phone. Chances are they have if you already have a custom ROM on it.
Now the hard bit will be is what ROM to put on it. Just read how to flash it but the easiest way is to do it from the SD card, and always flash the HTC stock ROM between custom ROMS, it helps u avoid any problems.
I have tired 3 different WM6.5 + HTC Sence rom, but after flash I have the following problem:
1. Screen color looks strange. Unreadable.
2. extremely slow, unusable. bascially can't do anything.
3. Phone seems doesn't work, no signal.
What's wrong with my Touch HD? not compatible with WM6.5 ROM?
this has been told ardy

you clearly have not looked at the dummies guide to flashing. it is a STICKY POST on this forum. give that guide a check and it should solve all of your questions
good luck!

Did you use HSPL or USPL before flashing rom? Did you follow this guide? Sounds like your SPL is wrong.
Post future flashing queries in Dummies guide thread

Hi Guys
As a avid folower of all the cooking and chefs i need some help
My X1 is still under factory warranty and seeing as the stock X1 was slugish , slow and plain useless i updated my ROM to the KOV110
Is there some way i can revert this back to the original factory rom so i could take it in for repairs still under the factory warranty
Currently the Sony updater just tells me to that the software is not recognized and i cant do a update of any kind
Reason i want to take it in is that the battery life is half a day from full charge and the signal drops permanently. The phone also restarts at will and hangs on ocasion regardless of where i am or what im doing.
Any help or sugestions will be apreciated
Thanks

I don't know which Rom is best for my t-mobile device which is rooted stock Rom 2.2.2 and want to upgrade rom. I know their are bugs in some so whichever has the least bugs and crashes would be great help and cut back the extensive reading thru tons of posts. Links to download Rom would be sweet too. I am a noob, but I got it figured out.
