What's the best alarm app? I prefer that it works well and doesn't keep me in bed when I need to wake up
Thanks!

I've tried a lot, but I came back to the stock alarm clock.
What might help is finding a sample/sound bite/mp3 of an alarm that you like. You can google for those too. Just download it and put it into your sd card, and the option to select that "ringtone" will be available in the alarm clock app.

Hey guys,
I recently flashed my Captivate to Auxuras 2.1.. lovin it, except for the fact that the clock app from the stock rom was wayy better (stopwatch, timer, worldclock etc.)
Are there any recommendations or apps that you guys could suggest that has similar functions?
All i really need is an app that I can set time, run in the background, play alarm sounds OR vibrate when in silent.
Thanks !

Here. This is the clockpackage I used on Assonance, pulled from Perception 4.
Hey
I tried installing the clock onto my phone but it keeps saying "Application not installed".
My phone is rooted, do I have to uninstall the Clock app that is currently on this phone first?
Thanks for the upload btw
Use a file manager like astro or root explorer to move the file to your system/app on your internal sd card. That is what I had to do because sometimes system apk's won't install that way. Feel free to thank me haha, jk. Make sure you use Titanium Backup to uninstall the old clock app that is on the phone.
Holy crap thank you.
LOL is it possible to keep that other app funcitoning at the same time?
I don't see why not as long as you don't remove it. It opened for me when it was still attached to my Beautiful widget so it should work just fine. I meant through the thank button haha. I am glad it worked for you, and I really don't need to boost my thank meter. I just need one to get on the board lol.
Hey, is there already any way to fix this?
On XXJVP ROM, when you set up an alarm and then clear the RAM from Task Manager, the alarm wont ring, its kinda annoying if i forget that =/ Any way to fix this?
Thanks

How bout you use your brain.I am NOT using a task killer.I am talking about clearing the ram in the samsung program monitor widget(stock one).If there is a way to exclude it from being cleared then please do tell.It never happened with previous versions of gingerbread or froyo. And wtf i expect a intelligent composed reply not a post that is rude and bloody ignorant.
I got the Bionic last Thursday and just realized that the ability to set the alarm by voice is not installed. It was on my OG running GPA17 . Where can I find the apk to add this functionality to my Bionic? Thanks.
I love that feature as well.
I installed Alarm Clock Plus from the market and it seems to have done the trick.

So to say my wife is upset that Verizon/Motorola deleted apps that she uses with the update is an understatement.
The most maddening is the alarm issue. Jelly Bean deleted the Alarm app that was on her phone, and I remedied that by getting her one off of Google Play. The only issue is that the alarms set on the original Alarm app are still in place, and cannot be deleted from what we can see.
This is a problem because she has the alarm set for 5am M-F, but we don't want this thing going off this weekend at that time.
My first thought was maybe to find an .apk of the old alarm program, but I haven't been able to do so. Has anyone else had this issue? How did you fix it?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Use the stock jb clock.. tap clock ...set alarm.. repeat mon-fri....

It is unlikely that the update deleted user installed apps unless you did a factory reset after the update.
The update is written to the system partition, your data, including the alarms and all apps you installed would be in the data partition.
It is also unlikely that a non-existing app executes alarms.... With what if the app is uninstalled?
It is however possible that the update messed up something ...
My guess is, the alarm app is still there, you just don't see it.
Go to "Manage Apps"
There are three "views": Downloaded, Running, All
Carefully go through the "All" list and see if you can find it.

Actually, this isn't completely true. Although I agree that third party apps should not be touched, I can attest, that several built in Android apps are replaced. So far, I have found that the Gallery, Camera, Clock, and Alarm apps were replaced with new versions. For me, (I am using App Organizer) this meant that these shortcuts no longer worked.
Often the solution is to delete the unworking shorcut/widget/placeholder/whatever and re-add it, to get the new version.
Oh, I also had this problem with Car Dock Home V3 (icons that no longer worked).
-Glenn.
The alarms are under the clock app.

I find it odd that you don't have an alarm function on the watch unless tethered to the phone. So I was trying out various alarm clocks for the gear, most did not fit well on the screen and some had time entry not compatible with the gear.
I found the following on Google Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.macropinch.axe&hl=en
Loaded it via Wondershare and it works a treat. Has 4 great looking clocks including a digital one with seconds and date, easy time entry, multi alarms and snooze function etc and works really well on the gear (with or without connection to phone.
Looks Very Good!
I had not so much time recently but the time to root and configure NOVA is coming...
Great find, thanks a lot. I've left a message on their facebook page and hopefully they should publish it officially on Samsung App store
They just added an app in the Gear store called ZDclock
Lets you set alarms/reminders for all different things.
Looks quite nice on the Gear screen.

Thanks. Yes that's a neat app too. I am keeping them both
I love the idea of an alarm app right on the gear but the permissions that app asks for seem way over the top for what it does. Does it need access to everything on the phone?

click in upper left corner of the app on the watch and you can choose the digital clock face there.

Does this app have to be installed on phone and watch, i like the zd clock app but its only available in 24 hour format. If this app is installed on the gear, it automatically installs and syncs with the phone.
Great little app ! Thanks for sharing.. Almost looks like it was designed for the gear.

App is installed on phone and/or watch, and it will synchronise but the beauty of it is it will run as a standalone app on the watch.
i have this app only installed on my Gear.
Digital clock looks good, but analog clock is very bad.
background is gray (not black) and clock isn't centered.:crying:

Is this a widget or I can use/install this on stock rom gear?
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can install this in stock rom too. It is a standalone app, not widget.
