Tytn II T-mobile internet settings (UK please) - Tilt, TyTN II, MDA Vario III General

Sorry if this has been asked a million times, I tried searching the forum but I'm rubbish at captcha!!
Please can someone point me in the direction for t-mobile internet settings for the tytn II. It's actually the o2 XDA Stellar... does this make any difference? Would it be easier if I just flashed it?
Thanks in advance.

Looking for the User-Agent info from the Tilt 8925

I'm trying some stuff out with the TyTN II and I was wondering if someone could post the User-Agent CustomBase info from the Tilt.
This is what it looks like on the TyTN II
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Internet Explorer]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Internet Explorer\User Agent]
"CustomBase"="HTC_TyTN_II Mozilla/4.0"
Thanks
I found the info. By changing that info on my TyTN II, I am now able to access Cingular Video and MediaNet home pages. I had to change my connection from My ISP to MediaNet so it would go through the Proxy.
I can now access my account information and a bunch of other areas I wasn't before on my TyTN II.

Yes, I would also like to have that info.
Sorry about that. The excitement got too me. Here you go.
TyTN II Users
Here are the instructions for access MediaNet and Cingular Video, or just about any at&t/Cingular link just like on the Tilt.
It’s really simple to access MediaNet. Even on at&t branded phones you have to switch from My ISP to MediaNet so you can access the MN home page or Cingular video. Here is how you do it.
Go to START, SETTINGS and select CONNECTIONS.
In the connections, select CONNECTIONS Icon.
At the bottom, select ADVANCED tab.
You will see a SELECT NETWORKS option.
Under Network Management, change the first option for MY ISP to MEDIANET.
Now click ok and reselect TASK (bottom left tab). Now your Connections now say MediaNet with a proxy option below it. We need to verify the proxy info is correct.
Select edit my proxy server, then select Advanced. You will see a window with server/proxy info. The first one is HTTP. It should have the following (wireless.cingular.com:80). If it doesn’t, touch HTTP and enter the info. Now check SOCKS. It should have (LOCALHOST:1080). Again, enter it if needed.
Now you’re done. You only had to do this one time. When you done with MediaNet, all you do is switch back to MY ISP for normal surfing.
Before you continue, you have to make a change in your registry so that the proxy knows your phone as a branded phone. I choose the Tilt for this.
If you know how to use a registry editor, then look for this entry on you phone.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Security\Internet Explorer\User Agent]
"CustomBase"="HTC_TyTN_II Mozilla/4.0"
You need to change the CustomBase to HTC-8900/1.2 Mozilla/4.0
This is what is listed for the Tilt
Save your settings and that’s it. By changing that info on my TyTN II, I am now able to access Cingular Video and MediaNet home page. I had to change my connection from My ISP to MediaNet so it would go through the Proxy.
I can now access my account information and a bunch of other areas I wasn't before on my TyTN II.
Cv http://cingularvideo.cingular.com
MN http://device.home
Note: In order to play the videos, you can download a PocketPC version of Real Player since the files are in RM format.
I'm sure someone can clean up my instructions. What it came down too was telling Cingular Proxy that I was using a Tilt and not a TyTN II. I pieced the information together from other users trying the same thing with other brand phones. Now I have full access with an unlocked phone.
Would someone by any chance know how to change the user agent file to make AT&T/Cingular think we are using, say, a RAZR V3XX or maybe a Samsung Sync (or any other HSDPA enabled non ppc phone)? (I'm currently signed up with the Media Max plan, so im sure you know what I'm getting at )
guess ill have to bump...?

Ya data thief. LOL
I don't think the user agent is what you need to be concerned about. It's IMEI number is what the network sees. But I could be wrong.

how to make a "settings" cab

hi there really silly question, ive noticed when i flash a rom it installs and then afterwords sets up the device and picks up what network I'm on and adds the settings for wap/gprs mms etc, i was wandering if there's a way of getting this in one cab or how i would go about making it, reason i ask is i have several pda devices that don't work for mms even tho they should thanks
thanks for any help
Not really sure what your question is.
How to make a cab?
How to automatically connect many devices to your network?
How to configure settings?
There are several Wikis and FAQs to get you started. Read grasshopper, and see my sig. Good luck!
I think he wants to be able to export his settings (wap / mms / proxy etc...) into a CAB in order to import it after flashing his phone or to import it into another phone.
If you have a common provider (ATT / Vodaphone / SFR etc..), the easiest way is probably just to use the Automatic Connection Setup / Network Wizard that will set up all those settings automatically for MMS, WAP etc..
Help
Pls can anybody help with network wizard for HTC kaiser,my network service provider is MTN NIGERIA,pls i would be happy if anyone does this for me.My mail addy is [email protected].

O2 don't support Diamond

Hi,
I have just purchased a web browsing bolt on for my O2 pay and go account. When I tried to get settings from O2 I was told by them that they have no settings for HTC mobiles - in fact that they didn't support any HTC models. Is this true or are any of you using 02 P&G to access web and email on the Diamond?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Richard
Its true! I cannot receive and send MMS and there is no GPRS conection.
O2 suxx! I'm going to change the operator.
Tesco Mobile do not have any problems with HTC
I am running my Diamond fine with GPRS etc on O2.
Also there are several O2 bundle deals for Diamonds at Expansys (http://www.expansys.com/nc.aspx?i=163250#o2).
When I set up my Diamond it offered an auto-configure settings after first booting which included O2 even though I bought this as standalone sim and contract free from play.com.
ACtually - not sure it will work with Pay & Go - didn't see that bit.
O2 connection settings are here BTW:
http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html
I am with o2 on simplicity, I also have the internet bolt on, didnt have to confirgure anything, it downloaded my settings (auto config) and havent had to do a thing. Upgraded firmware to Elite 3 and exactly the same. GPRS EDGE HSDPA all work fine and dandy. I'm in the uk and loving the combination.
Is there any way to run the auto-configure again without a hard reset?
Thanks,
Richard

They "don't support" HTC because they sell them under XDA name And o2 in Germany already got XDA Diamond.
Sorry to bump this, just got a Diamond, Im on o2 PAYG (UK)
Tried loads of the settings being banded about online.....
I can access o2's website on the Diamond but nothing else.
Im seriously considering changing provider, but.... I have £75 credit and its been my number for years, I like the extras I get with o2 (texts, rewards etc.)
Has anyone on UK o2 PAYG got it working?
Regards
After weeks of messing I managed to get a friends PDA working on O2 UK PAYG GPRS full internet not just O2 crap its all in the proxy setting i will get them off him and post later.
Tim
There is a way to fool the server into connecting to the web via the WAP APN. Possibly O2 have 'fixed' the workaround, possibly not. It may be worth a try! Be aware that this was published for a previous version of WM, but the settings ought to be similar still:
To setup the XDA on PAYG for internet:
Go to Settings, click on the Connections tab & click on "Connections"
In the first dropdown, "When needed, automatically connect to The Internet using these settings:" select "New..." and give the connection a name (Mine's O2 Wap)
On the "Modem" tab, click on "New..." to create a new modem specification. Give the specification a name (Mine's O2 PAYG GPRS). For the Modem selection, use Cellular Line (GPRS) and set the Baud Rate to 57600 and click on Next.
For the Access point name, use payandgo.o2.co.uk and click Finish
Next, click on the Proxy Settings, and put a check in both the boxes & click Advanced.
Use the following server addresses & ports:
HTTP: 193.113.200.195 port 8080
WAP: 193.113.200.195 port 8080
SOCKS: 193.113.200.195 port 1080 (not sure if this works as I've never had to use it)
OK your way back out to the today screen and launch Internet Explorer
When launching any website for the first time, you'll be asked for a username, password and domain.
Username: payandgo
Password: password
Domain: <empty>
Cheers Tim, that'd be fantastic.
Johnston4111 - Ill give that a shot shortly - menues are pretty similar.

Looks like it worked, you can set the username and password in Proxy settings on the Diamond Menaing no need to enter it at first connection.
This will use my bolt on. correct?
BTW, THANKS!!!!
As far as i know it does.
If not you'll soon notice your credit evaporating.

yep it just uses your bolt-on my mates been using these settings for 3 months now with no problems.

Yeah, bolt on.
Are you lot able to use Remote Desktop? I cant use Live services, Youtube or RD.
This close to taking a contract out with another provider that suport this phone
XDA Ignito is listed as a future handset on O2 UK intranet - all I can say.
So yes, we do support it.
I've got a Diamond and can use picture messages and the internet as well as Live Messenger and Youtube. I don't use RD but I presume it'll work.
I'm on a staff simplicity tariff with the unlimited web bolt on and it all works fine.
Care to share details? do you have different logins?
Youtube loads but videos dont play, I get a synchronisation failed error on Windows Live.
Connection name: mobile web
Modem: Celluar Line (GPRS, 3G)
Access point name: mobile.o2.co.uk
Username: O2web
Password: password
Those work for me, create a new connection in Connection settings. The auto setup tool did it all for me though.
That works for you as you are on a contract.
You won't get wlm etc... on the wap work around on pay as you go. Not sure about remote desktop but i guess it's all related to the proxy.
Remote desktop and messenger both use secure connections so how about trying entering 193.113.200.195 in the WAP Secure section in proxy and try it the following ports numbers 8080,9201,443.
Its only a guess but worth a try I think

How to change the default connection Windows Live uses?

I have a Xperia X1 which was bought from Vodafone so comes with all their rubbish. I've put my T-Mobile sim in (voda's x1 isn't simlocked) and setup all of the connections. The internet through the opera browser works, as does everything else whoch uses the internet. However Windows Live still continues to try and use the default Vodafone settings.
How can I change Windows Live to use the T-Mobile settings I have setup? I can't modify the "My ISP" or "WEB" connection's as they are "pre-configured and cannot be modified" and it it those which windows live tries to use.
Thanks.
You need to edit the registry HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Destinations\WEB and My ISP \Read Only set to 0. Then go into settings\connections\connections\my ISP and add your settings. You will also need to go into advanced\select networks and change it to WEB and edit and do the same.
Don't forget to remove the vodafone proxy information from the proxy tab.
My O2 sim card is working fine now with hotmail, aol and exchange
Vodaphone branded wifi connection
Hi, im on o2 aswell and got the voda branded handset everytime i try and connect to windows live or msn etc it tries to connect to gprs wap or something and i want it to use my wireless from home ive read up about it and its something to do with registery or something right?
Hi All,
Just a quick noob question if someone would be so kind!
I have amended the registry setting on my X1 in order to get skyfire working. I was wondering if someone could explain to me what the 'This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet' setting does and what the entry 212.183.137.12 refers to??
Many Thanks
Reb

kaiser mms and gprs settings for o2 prepay

hi all am new to the android scene, i have just purchased the HTC Legend, and cannot access the internet, i can only access the internet through wifi, so any help would be very gratefull i am on o2 many thanks in advance
Moved as not ROM Development.
Attached o2 pre-pay settings .cab install to device and run will set up GRPS & MMS, has restrictions as o2 doesn't allow email retrieval.
If you don't use MMS you can use these GPRS Settings.
o2
Access Point: payandgo.o2.co.uk
Use Name: vertigo
Password: password
Then you get email.
Hope that helps.
mms settings
thanks for your help they have worked a treat you really do know your stuff thanks once again
That's cool just happy to help
Mem when moved to o2 the amount of trouble it was to set up till found .cab then, the email problem to which sometimes would sporadically work, to then finding the vertigo settings and being happy, trade MMS for Email any day
