ok so basically I couldn't decide which one I wanted, so ended up ordering all three of them. Now I've got all of them, I figured I'll give us a quick review and some photos so other people can easily pick between the three of them.

This is a photo of all three cases, Impact, Communter and Defender
So here we go:
Impact
Pros:Cheap, offers decent protection, easy to take on and take off
ConsA lint magnet (REALLY!), doesn't look very classy, doesn't have cover for the ports, not easy to take out of pockets, lack of belt clip
This is the first of the three cases I got. It's the one I've used for about a month already. My biggest issue with it is that it's a big lint magnet. The case picks up all the dust and lint in your pocket and I find myself constantly cleaning it. Also the lack of covers for the ports can be annoying especially if your pocket is quite dirty
front and back of the Impact.
Communter
Pros:Classy look, hard shell, doesn't seem like as much a lint magnet as Impact, ports cover, buttons are a bit recessed on the top much nicer than the Impact buttons
Conslack of belt clip, bottom HDMI port cover doesn't seem to snap in place and is lose, took me a few tries to put it on right as it's rather a tight fit, not as easy as the Impact to take off and put on
This is the case that I think looks the nicest out of the three. The hard shell and finish on the back make it look really classy. My two issues with it are the HDMI port cover doesn't seem to really hold in place (see the photo below) and I'm worried that over time it may rip off and it doesn't have a belt clip. The perfect combo would be Communter with Defender's clip.
front and back of the Communter, as you can see my Streak is in there currently.
showing what I mean by the HDMI port cover being lose.
Defender
Pros:Belt clip! best protection out of the three, port covers
Cons:Too expensive, too big, when out of the belt clip doesn't feel all that good in hand
This is the most expensive of the three cases and to be honest, I was rather disappointed. When out of the belt clip, the defender just feels like the Impact and I felt the outter part doesn't fit all that nice around the hard inner shell. I was worried it may peel off over time. Also the Defender does add quite a lot of size to the Streak so it may carrying around it much more difficult. Even with the belt clip, it is a rather big thing to carry around on the belt. Also, with the snap in belt clip, I find it a bit difficult to take it off for calls, maybe if I kept on using it i'd get better.
thickness comparsion of the three. The last photo has the Defender with its belt clip removed.
front and back of the Defender.
some shots of the Defender's belt clip.
Ok, so that's it. I think the perfect combo for me would have being the Communter with Defender's belt clip but as life is, I'd settle for the Communter. Hope this is useful for people who are thinking of buying an Otterbox case.
Thanks for the review. I agree, the commuter seems to be a nice "just right" between the two. An option for a screw-in belt clip would be nice, but I prefer to carry in my pocket.
Please fix links to your pics. Maybe a more permanent hosting.
I didn't realize they capped the bandwidth, i'll have to fix it later tonight when I get home as I don't have the pics with me at work.
ok, images fixed
I have the first one, and I must say that I agree with everything you say except for the lint issue. I don't have that problem at all. If lint is your issue, perhaps it's your laundry. As for the bulkiness of the case, hate it. The buttons are too pronounced, and the port is not protected at all. This case is fail. Anyone want to buy this off me?
Thank you very much for these reviews! I am waiting for my Defender case too arrive. I ordered one from Dell and waited and waited, then got an email saying there had been a delay. I found one on eBay for $20 less plus free shipping so I ordered it with intentions on returning the original back to Dell if it ever got here. The day after I ordered the eBay, the Dell one had been shipped- go figure!
Anyway, I am anxious for it to come. I dropped my IP3g two weeks ago and the glass broke (no otterbox) so I quickly ordered one for it and it arrived last night- LOVE it! I'm hoping the one for my Streak is a good as the one for my IP.
Great review and thank you for saving me from doing it
I too have all three cases, and have settled with the Commuter as my daily driver, for exactly the same reasons that you are describing.
The Commuter feels indeed as the most polished of the bunch; really adding to the Streak's classy look, plus the added protection. It does feel a bit more slippery at times though, due to the hard shell plastic.
All in all all three cases are great protection options for the Streak.
It feels like a device has it made in the market, when OtterBox decides to support it.
Peronsally, I really like the belt clip of the defender, just feel like they should have made the belt clip an option for the Communter as well. Or if the Defender had a hard outter shell instead the Impact like rubber outter shell then it would have being perfect for me.

Yeah, most likely it is my laundry. However, do you not find it collects dust really easily? Also can't wipe it with a tissue as the white stuff from the tissue gets stuck on it too...

maybe a bit of silicon polish sprayed onto the impact case would help with the lint issue?
Damn, just bought the defender not many pics online, thanks for this, though a bit late for me. None the less I'd still need a belt clip or something to put on my hip, hating current pocket carry.
Have you got your Defender already? I found the Streak is still too big to carry on the hip...
I have the communter, at first i thought it was kinda big, bit over time im liking it alot!
Just got the commuter. Loving it so far

Personally prefer the case in the pic i have provided, simple and suits me definitely.
I debated with myself for a while before going with the tab closure. I like the simplicity of having no closure at all, and that it would fold flat when the unit is out of the case. My prior cell phone case didn't have a flap and I never had a problem with it (didn't fall out). In the end I thought about the times when I'll use the main unit and leave the keyboard in the case, like when I'm using the camera. Figured to be safe I better get the tab.
Delivery is scheduled for next week, so I'll get some pics up when I get it.
Received today. 300% better than the piece of crap cases from that guy on ebay (like many others on here, mine broke in 2 days of light use and I dont have a refund yet). This case came to me in the US from New Zealand in 11 days, they claim 10 days minimum.
This case is built like a tank. I would trust it to hold my weight, if it had to. The clip is stainless steel, with a thin strip of leather glued to the outside for decoration. That may need better glue, but its a minor problem. The clip itself is securely embedded into the case and has a lip just below the clip (under the leather) to prevent the clip from slipping off a belt. The rest of the case is thick leather with a felt(?) lining.
Even without the closure it should hold the unit tight to the 90-degree position. I got the tab closure and it lets me hit the volume slider to mute the phone when its ringing plus would let me keep wired headphones plugged in while the tab is closed, although I only use BT headphones. I think the full closure option would be too much unless you walk in the rain or run with it. When empty it folds almost flat against my body even with the tab closure closed. That closes with velcro.
I get my first full day with it on my belt tomorrow, but so far it gets an A. Once I get the pics up on a server Ill post them.
how bout some pics with ur phone nicely secure in ur spanking brand new case
Like I said in my last post, once I got the pics up somewhere I would post them. Here you go:
Sorry, no pics with the whole phone in there - its the chicken-and-the-egg dilema. My wife had our real camera last night, so I was using the one on the phone.
Oh, and before someone asks, yes that's a D-ring at the top of the clip. You can use it with a clip-on shoulder strap (the one they offer is too expensive) or slip the strap of a larger bag through it.
This case would seem to be 'THE SOLUTION' for all of us. I have the tried the cheap case with the post and belt clip. The clip that came with it was broken from the get-go and I found a good substitute. BUT, I have seen a number of posts saying the post has broken so I will junk this case. I had another case that had belt loops which would hold the x7501 but the leather just tore and it is in the waste basket also.
Piel Frama has made a case but it is even more expensive than this one, has no belt attachment and is very similar to the one that comes with the Advantage.
So, I have a question! I assume that the X7501 and the HTC case would not fit in the pouch of the Tough-as-nuts case? If not, do you think it would be adventageous if the case were made bigger to accomodate it? I am not comfortable holding this device without a case around it (old hands).
Brad Miter
The cheap ebay case I bought had both problems you mention - first the clip broke after 2 days, then the post came unglued inside the round piece of leather. I'm glad I noticed the glue problem - five minutes of walking around and the whole thing would have dropped to the floor. I pulled the post out of the round piece without much effort once the glue came undone.
Personally I do not like the method the original case, the cheap ebay case, and so many others use to hold the 2 parts of the Athena/Advantage in place. Those chunky plastic clips are just wear points as the 2 parts of the Athena get mashed together while you walk around. They should have built mounting slots/holes into the Athena's metal case to make car mounts and protective cases easier and safer. I also don't like the metal slab used to mount the keyboard because of its weight. Between the large plastic slab in the top of the case, the plastic clips, and the large metal slab in the bottom of the case, the original case (and many of the after-market solutions) is very heavy. The Tough-as-Nuts case is noticeably lighter in the hand even with its solid metal clip and D-ring. There's just so much metal and plastic in the original case.
I do like how much more protected the device is inside the original case while in use, and it keeps it from tipping over when you press on the screen. So I tried putting the whole thing into my new case, but there's not quite enough room. I think the thickness was OK, and the length would be fine (my closure strap is very long) but the width didn't have enough give to allow the Athena+case. I probably wouldn't have done that all the time but the option would have been nice if I knew I would be using it where it might get dropped or bumped.
My reaction now after several days on my hip: The new case feels much more secure than the cheapo ebay one. I always knew the Athena was there, usually pulling heavily on my belt in that other case. It also stuck out a good half-inch from my body so it had some leverage with that weight, too. The new case is snug against me, with just enough room on the clip that when I sit down it will tilt slightly and not get in the way. I truly forget its there now, sitting or walking around. I found it was not comfortable clipped all the way over the edge of my jeans, since the bottom edge of the clip sticks out a bit. My guess is that's to force the clip to stay closed as it lays against you. Unfortunately it digs into you when the clip is inside the pants, but very comfortable when kept on the belt. This case does not give you a window for the "subdisplay". However, the subdisplay is implemented very poorly on the Athena. The slightest bit out-of-alignment and the subdisplay turns off, as reported by several people on this forum and now me. So even with a window on the case its still mostly useless (which I found the few days I used that ebay case which does have a window). If you are looking for a case with a window, forget it. Since I use the Jabra BT8010 which has a display that deficiency is mostly a non-issue for me.
edit: And that red tag is probably going to get cut off some time soon, to me its annoying having this little red flag down there sticking out and saying "look at me".
Thanks for the additional feedback. I think I'll write Nutshell and see if they would consider making just a bit larger by say, 1/4" all dimensions. Do you think that would too much slop when not using the HTC case?
Brad
Probably. It goes in pretty easy right now, and slips right out if you tip it past horizontal. But if you get one of the closures it wont be an issue.

I now have a Nutshell on order. For an upcharge they will make it 1/4" wider and 1/4" deep so I should be able to leave the Advantage in the HTC case for safety when removed from the pouch. I'm also getting the Tab, Belt Clip and the Shoulder Strap. Hope it gets here before Christmas. I'll report back when I have it!

So far I love mine, I hope you do, too. I still forget its on me at times, although I doubt youll have those moments with the weight of both cases on your belt.

I ordered the shoulder strap too as I find it really too heavy when carried in a pants pocket.
Brad
I agree it feels unwieldy/heavy when its in a pocket, but on my belt on my hip its very comfortable.
How much extra was it for the extra .25 in on all sides?
$20. If it works it will be worth it.
Brad
I tested this case for Gear Diary. You can read the review and see pics here.
My only complaint relates the the Invisible Shield I also installed on the Advantage. Pulling it in and out of the case has lifted the film on the housing at some edges.
An update on this case. After several months of daily use, its holding up well. It has a few minor scuff marks on the front from brushing against hard chair arms, but nothing obvious unless you view it with light reflecting off the surface. I would expect the same or much worse from cheaper cases. Its still solid as a rock - the velcro is still normal and the belt clip won't move at all. It supports the unit so well that I frequently forget I'm carrying it. A purchase I'm happy with. Too bad they didn't supply a case like this in the original box.
HTC Incredible Otterbox Defender series
So after my first evening with the case I thought I'd post my initial impressions. The case is a dust/lent magnet but this is no different than other silicone cases I've seen. I've had some issues with the screen protector sticking to my phantom skinz protector but it's quickly fixed by pressing on both sides of the case. It's nothing like I used to see on my 3gs Defender.
The screen protector does affect viewing quality of the screen, but it's not bad and you get used to it. The screen still looks better compared to the EVO's washed out screen.
The belt clip works well. My 3gs only fell because of the poor belt clip design, but this one seems more secure. Speaking of which, no drop test yet
Here are some additional up close images. I'm showing the cover for the lens / flash as well as the inside of the front cover. You can see the hole for the optical trackball and the dark cloth that covers the speaker.
I also have a couple more things to note.
1. Without my Phantom Skinz applied (I had front only) the phone feels loose inside the case. Not sure if this is by design.
2. Again, without the Phantom Skinz, I eliminated the sticky screen issue but now it feels like a resistive touch screen of sorts. You can feel the protector depress onto the glass.
3. Lint/Dust magnet!
4. It feels great in the hand and the belt clip is much better than the 3gs and older style defender clips. I haven't had one accidental drop. When I used my 3gs it would always fall out.
5. I compared it to a friends 3gs defender and a Seidio Rugged case and it's actually bulkier than both! It was surprising, but not much bulkier.

Will it fit with the HTC 2150 extended battery?
I received my case yesterday but it seems just a tad too big since the phone slided back and forth when you shake it.
michaelkahl, how does your case fit?

I also just got the Defender for my Incredible and my case does the same thing. When I shake it side to side you can hear the phone move. This is my first Otterbox so I just assumed it was normal.
Its not normal, I called Otterbox and they are sending me a new case but they are on backorder so it will probably be a while. Told me to throw the other one away...
I have since fixed the sliding issue but cutting a few slivers out of a business card and putting on both sides and at the bottom. Shouldn't have to do this with a $50 case but whatever works I guess.

I have the Seidio Rugged and I couldn't be happier, and since it's designed as two seperate cases you have the option of just using the inner Innocase. Also the Seidio belt clip locks and it's near impossible the get the phone out without unlocking it, just my two cents
rant...
I ordered my case moments after getting the notification email last Thursday. I rang them today to ask if my order was okay and was told that they are backordered nearly two weeks.....I live only three hours from them and they shipped out-of-state orders first?!?.....
I'm on the edge here.....
Thanks for listening.
Shakes in the case? That's very disappointing... I'm waiting till I hear better reviews. Thanks for the post.

My defender also fits a little odd. The Incredible moves around within the inner shell as if it were loose. I called Otterbox and they agreed to send me a replacement under the condition I would have to send the original back so they could inspect it.
That thing is way to big.
Today I called otterbox because my case also has a loose fit. I realized this after removing the Phantom Skinz screen protector. Otterbox says that this is not intended and are sending me a replacement. The item is on back-order, hopefully the next batch don't have this issue.
In the mean time I've stuffed my case with two pieces of paper and it's fits much better. I didn't fold them, just placed them on the back side.

I received my replacement case today and the fit is just as bad as the original. I called in to let them know and she said that was the first she had heard of it. We shall see what happens next.
....And I can't even get one having ordered over a week ago....sigh....
You guys drop your phones a lot?
A lot? No. But it only takes one.
I agree, dropping one can cause some good damage if naked, but my Seidio case has served me well. But I dunno if I want to double or near triple the thickness of my phone for a drop that may or may not happen.
It's just really hard to justify a case that looks like it's made for off road racing.

Sorry to say that I got mine today and I'm not sure I want it any more. After reading that others have received phones with the same issue, replacements have had the same issue, my belt clip broke exactly 1 week after I got the phone, and I feel that I waited this long for a product still in development
Dang....if mine is all rattly I may just have to drive my lazy arse down there and shake it under their nose.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dusf-gsSvB0
So yeah, long story short...the replacement rattles as well. Hit the video above for more info.
Well I only had to swallow my pride for about a day because my new ebay case arrived today after only having ordering it about a day and a half ago so off goes pink and grey and on come white on white. I really wanted a white case since i opted gor the white Note 2 it just didnt seem right to put any other case on it. So here are a few pics. To me I would compair it to a siedio since it is a two piece case consisting of a silica rubber case and a plastic outer shell. The case also has a built in stand for watching movies as well as a holster whose belt clip doubles as a stand as well.
I tried to put the Note 2 with the pink and grey body glove case on it in the holster but it was too loose and would not stay so that lead me to believe that this combo in thick but not by much which equals more protection to me.
The case and holster were only about $12 bucks shipped and it is an unbranded unit but better built then some of the units I have seen that people have purchased off ebay.
I am happy with the case, I may or may not purchase a "Big Name Brand" case in holster in the future but only if it comes in white.

I just got this case in black, it's really very nice. I like that it covers all the buttons and the ports, it really provides some great protection. Having two options for stands is nice too.
Thanks for posting this, I just ordered one myself. I had a few questions if you don't mind. How does the overall fit of the case, is it easy to put on and take back off? How much thicker does it actually make the phone? Does it attract lint/dust when it's in your pocket, or is it too big to carry around in your pocket.

please comment on whether or not the belt clip seems secure (if it will snap off easily or not)...both times i broke it i barely even touched it
with a phone this large i can see it getting caught somewhere or banging into something
also...does the phone fit properly in the holster (when the screen is facing out) so that you can actually use the kickstand feature? not the kickstand that is connected to the case...im asking about the kickstand that is connected to the belt holster... the one i bought for my GS2 didnt...it only fit when the screen was faced inwards
Thanks for showing this. I bought the white and black one today. I did consider getting the white only. It looks pretty nice. Thanks for sharing.

A lot of questions?..........
To all that wanted a few better pictures then what is posted on ebay your welcome.
Unfortunately my work computer will not allow me to look at online auctions so ebay links are out........maybe....wait one
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110973691923
I find the case to be very easy to put on and take of if necessary, fit and finish a very good, as far as lint from pocket, I cannot comment on that one because that why I got a case with a holster.....lol. I dont think it makes the phone that much thicking and its weight is still very minimal.
I have not attempted to put the phone in the holster with the screen out. I had an experience once walking by the ironing board in my bedroom and bumped a metal piece sticking out and a had a wonderful 1 1/2 inch scratch on my beautiful phone but I or someone else will check that out and post it up later.
I do think that the holster clip is the weak link of this whole package. Its is no Otterbox or Ballistic but I have broken my Otterbox holster clip getting into my truck in the past.
I can say that for the cost it is one of the nicest, cheap cases floating around on ebay. I am happy to display my incredibly expensive phablet in it.

the holster clip is my concern...as you said that you believe it is the weakest link as well...like i mentioned i went through 2 of these on my GN2 (not the same exact one, but the holster clip part looks to be exactly the same) which ended up costing me like $30..that is why im strongly considered getting the Seidio Surface combo..but that is gonna cost me $57..i think i might have to pay a higher premium to get better quality this time around
follow up
does the phone fit properly in the holster (when the screen is facing out) so that you can actually use the kickstand feature? not the kickstand that is connected to the case...im asking about the kickstand that is connected to the belt holster...
The answer is...... It does not go into the holster with the screen facing out. I know that seems kind of weird since it has a kickstand feature but it does not slide into the holster that way.

The rubber around the top and bottom is the same as it is on all sides, no extra padding in possible problem areas. The rubber is soft which should give some shock absorbtion as well as bounce if dropped on a hard surface (may I never need to know)
I will try to post a pick of it later.
I'm not that great at prose. Bullet points for all of you!
Bought from here. Also comes in white and red.
Notes:
The great big DANGER sticker and Big Scary Laser sticker is something I bought separately.
Pros:
It's 6 freaking dollars!
Does not feel cheap
Volume/power buttons retain their 'click'
Reasonable protection
High lip for drop protection
Lip does not impede touching the edge of the screen
Stand actually useful (comfortable angle)
Slippery enough to slide into my pocket, grippy enough to comfortably stay on a table
Does not attract fingerprints at all
Fit is very tight, phone absolutely won't come out on its own
Feels comfortably rugged but not ridiculously so
Would not be afraid to drop the phone whilst in the case
Cons:
Volume/power buttons have very little definition on the case, very easy to accidentally press volume down whilst holding the phone
Stylus cutout could be a tad bigger
Larger headphone connectors may not fit
Larger microUSB connectors may not fit
Can be a little fiddly to get the phone out of the case due to tight fit
Neutral:
Stand only has one angle (I like it for the simplicity, but each to their own)
Stand feels a little flimsy (I don't think it will break unless someone smacks the phone down whilst standing)
No dust covers on the jacks (I personally like this as I hate having to remove dust covers when I want to plug anything in)
Wrapup:
For $6 shipped I couldn't be happier.
Unless I find something hugely better or the otterbox commuter drops in price by $20, I'm sticking with this.

I've got the same case, modded it to use with my flip cover and it works great. With the flip cover on I can fold it back and prop the stand on it or it lays flat in front like a keyboard on a laptop. The only problem I have with it is the kickstand is a bit flimsy.

I put the flip cover on, then put the case on and marked it just 1mm-2mm from the top and bottom of the flip cover then removed the case and cut it down to the little groove along the back edge, then cut along the groove. Afterwards I sanded the back edge with 200-1800 grit sand paper and it looks factory finished now.

Monty, i found one exact replica of the Otterbox Commuter for $5 and mod it to have a thin kickstand.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153383
I spliced in the kickstand from a $9 TPU casing. The point is it's more protected from drops & has a functional stand without the $70 cost from where I come from.

I just received my uag scout case and then I see this thread. Blast. The uag case is nice. Fit is not a hundred percent but protection feels good. What it is, is not worth 39 that I paid for it. This case looks like it would offer similar level of protection to the uag case. Anybody compared the two? Might get it to cutout the back to allow for better charging wen I finally get around to performing the induction charging mod.

I'll post pictures on the phone soon, either tonight if I can get decent pics with my wifes photon on weds when I get home and have my 2nd note I can put the case on and take pics

The only thing to be careful with on this case is the inside edges are pretty sharp, at least on mine, and scuff up the edges of the phone. The reason I don't use it on my new note.

Sorry, but in terms of quality these are in a different category. Two months ago I said to myself after getting a handful of ebay cases - hey they all cost as much as one of the premium one. Then, I compared it to those from UAG, Case-Mate, and Otterbox - and the quality and fitment of ebay cases was pale in comparison. They will offer a similar level of protection, I will not deny that. But you will see how brittle plastic material is, how hard to push volume/power buttons, how flimsy and stretchy silicone inserts, how poorly inner/outer shells interconnect, how flimsy kickstand is, the silicone/plastic gets a blue shade from your jeans pocket, and how poor some of the port openings are. Regarding price of UAG - that's expected when a brand new product is released and there is such a high demand for it, thanks to a great reputation of their S3 cases.
Here's pics of it on the phone itself

They're great! I have one for the Galaxy S4, and it feels like a tank. I can't imagine how big it would be for the Note 2 though.
The two aluminium halves of the case support the phone where the screw holes are, so I wouldn't be surprised if it could withstand being run over by a car. It's a good idea to install a wireless charging pad as well. It works through the silicone cutout in the back, and makes charging much more convenient! The built-in glass screen protector is also nice. None of this!:

I wouldn't trust it to be fully waterproof though. It's weather resistant at most, protecting it from rain and stuff. Just look at that camera cutout!
to bulky
looks to bulky for my taste. if it adds that much to a s4. can imagine what it's gonna add to a note 2. i'll stick with my otterbox defender

Went ahead and ordered one the other day. I'll post pics when it comes in. I'll get some side by sides of it vs the OtterBox Defender I have.
on the coffin like)))
i agree. coffin like. lol
Wow! Thats huge!
If you look on that site there's another heavy duty case. It's not as coffin like and has rounded edges.
I am super tempted also.... but ill let you take the plunge and tell us about it...to the dude that will stick with his otterbox... Ive never seen anything bigger than a defender

lol, if you saw the size of my hands you'd understand why the otterbox feels so comfortable to me. i like the feel and overall protection provided by the defender case. anything else feels almost dainty to me so.

No idea about it but thanks to inform
Got the case today. Ordered it on April 29th and got it in today, May 12th.
The case comes nicely packaged. The outside of the box says it's waterproof, but I wouldn't trust it at all. The camera area has a small piece of tempered glass over it and the seal around it looks like black glue. I't might be waterproof, but risk it. Also, the earplug port doesn't seem like the best seal either. It close really tight, but still seems like a risk. The phone speaker and seems like it has a small black screen over it, doesn't look water proof at all there. That's pretty much the only negative things about the case. The rest is pretty damn good.
The case comes packaged like this:
Opening the box you get the extra screws and the tool to remove the crews.
Now for size comparison. The case next to an Otterbox Defender case. This case is 1/8" longer and 1/8" wider then the Otterbox. To me, that doesn't feel any bigger in my hand at all.
The big difference is the height. The Otterbox is 1/4" thicker then the metal case. Here they are laying flat next to each other.
I weighed the phone in the Otterbox and it was 9.6 oz. In the metal case it weighed 11.4 oz., so a slight increase in weight. And to me the 2 oz. is that big of a deal. What's really nice is the tempered glass screen protector. It feels about 3x's thicker then the plastic one on the Otterbox. There isn't any problem with sensitivity screen interaction. Also, the black square on the back is some of the rubber from the inside of the case and it sits right in the palm and keeps the phone from slipping. The black all along the edges is rubber too and helps with grip. I can see the rubber possibly attracting some dust. Have to wait a few days and see how dirty it gets. All of the buttons work easily too. Power, volume and home button all work perfectly.
I showed this case to 3 other friends and family that have Note 2's and all want to order one now. The only thing that would make this case better would be a big name brand behind it that would back up the waterproof claim. If this case had been around when the Note 2 launched, I would have definitely picked it over the Otterbox.
nice side by side comparison. ty.
Before I got the case I did the live chat on the site and asked a few questions and they said NFC would not work once the case was on. I can use S Beam and all of that just fine since there isn't metal behind the black square on the back.
Also worth mentioning is the impact truss inside of the case's silicone bumper. They are triangular holes that help absorb shock when dropped.
Thanks for the awesome review. I couldn't wait and ordered mine before this review came out. I hope mine arrives as swiftly ad yours did. I am concerned that it won't fit in my iottie dash mount

D'oh, thanks.
How do you like it so far? I've got an Otterbox Defender now and I do like it, but it's a little too bulky and makes the screen corners hard to touch.
