New thread? why if there is same thing on official forum
With what kernel you have done that test?
v2c kernel -keys wont work after some time
Thanks! I just installed it. Working fine.
A little issue with the Wifi.. cuts off from time to time.
Battery life and all, drains pretty quickly, but definitely usable.
On other note, it doesnt seem to charge when I plug the charger. a little sluggish in performance too.
i have these two question, please if anyone can help:
1- i can only find and connect to the wireless access points, but i cant find or connect to the ad-hock (peer-to-peer) wireless networks. so is there anyway that i can find and connect to the ad-hock wireless networks or it is just a bug ??!!
2- Is there a way to connect to the internet in the android sys using my laptop internet connection, like in Windows Mobile using active synchronization and connection sharing via Bluetooth or USB connection ??
waiting for your answers and suggestions
disadvantage:
1the mutilanguages input can not work.
it has error when I use google pinyin or sogou pinyin input.
2. 3d does not work well
3. system boot is too slow
4.camera still can not work
advantage:
1.This version faster than before any other version
2.battery life is nearly District version

I have recently started using my diamond a a modem to connect to my netbook to the net via usb. When using the standard ICS utility on the phone and having a HSDPA connection, internet pages would load really slowly and would timeout but when I installed the WMwifirouter and started using it I had no problems with the connection speed.
Anyone know why the WMwifirouter has a better connection???
Anyone know how to improve the ICS so its the same as WMwifirouter??
Thanks in advance

This is just my take.
ICS scenario:
3G network> phone > USB > PC
WMwifirouter scenario:
3G network> phone > Wifi > PC
For both protocols the three of the four are the same. The only difference is that Wifi connection to PC is a lot faster than USB connection to PC.
So, to answer your question, ICS CANNOT be FIXED, to be as fast as WMwifirouter.
Cheers
Both ICS and WMwifirouter are connected through USB so I dont understand why one is quicker than the other. Something is definetly up with my ICS program.

WMWIFIRouter doesn't use usb. It broadcasts your internet like a wireless router. Your netbook probably just had wlan turned on and automatically connected while you thought it was using the usb.

NO. Wmwifi router does not use USB. Disconnect it and you will see.
Cheers
I am using the latest version of WMwifirouter and it has 3 options on how to connect external devices: wifi, bluetooth and USB. I am using the USB option to connect my diamond to my netbook. I'm sure the wifi on my diamond is turned off when I have connected.
ICS app seems to be working fine now. Not sure if by installing the WMwifi router it changed some of the settings.
Also there is now a free app for Wifi router by HTC. See the coolsmartphone website for details.
I use my phone for connecting to internet all the time, and the problems i had with nokia e51 were the main reason i switched to touch diamond. I recommend usb connection because creating and broadcasting wifi signal drains your battery drastically and it also makes your phone generate ALOT of heat. At least thats how it was with nokia where i used joikuspot (usb and bluetooth kept disconnecting) it was pain in the ass.
so USB > WiFi for longterm use
Anyone had any luck getting a Redfly to work with the HD2?
I got a C8 and they're trying to give me a firmware workaround to it might work with WM6.5 (since they're only supporting their newer models from now on), but still no driver working adequately for the HD2.
The latest driver kinda works but my phone usually needs a soft reset after disconnection.
... might be stuck with just using my bluetooth keyboard for a while but I did like the 8-hour battery life and the bigger screen too.
I wish I had an answer for you but...sorry. But I'm also a C8 owner and Oh! how I wish I could have it work.
The available driver totally locked my HD2 so I had to hard reset.
it works for usb connection. for bluetooth, i havent test.
it should works, but first u have to upgrade redfly firmware to 1.5
>>p.s. i use miri's 2.1 rom. its is awesome. many thanks to him
Updates:
Bluetooth connection is working. Everything is fine. I even got teeter the game running, u can tilt the leo for controlling g sensor while video is fed to redfly c8 screen.
Sorry but which driver did you use?
I had to hard reset too
After installing the latest Redfly cab in my HD2 it would not finish the boot anymore.
So battery out, hard reset and a nice hour of re-installs.....
Today it worked with some limitations
celiocorp.com/008
works today, the hardreset may have helped after all....
And the limitations are:
- a soft reset after each disconnect is required. A second connection without the soft reset blocks the HD2
- BT kinda works, some keys do not seem to respond and often the HD2 blocks
- Email application, IM+ and internet pocket explorer work well, have not tested much the other apps
(these are the ones I will mainly use in the Redfly)
Using USB connection
- Some USB sticks can be read (not all of them)
- VGA output works even for 800x600 resolution. Photo album works, but not slideshow.
Does anyone here still have the drivers for the Redfly? If so, please attach them to a reply. Their website is gone.
I'm looking to understand what options exist for tethering the NC to a phone for data. I believe the only method currently supported is by creating an ad-hoc wifi network using software on the phone, and joining this network from the NC.
I have a Blackberry 9700, which cannot be setup as a wifi hotspot. With the release of CM7 build 17, it sounds like Bluetooth works (with limited range). My phone supports Bluetooth tethering because I've set it up with my Windows 7 laptop. I'm curious to find out whether this will be possible with the NC as well.. if not, what other options are there for getting online with my NC (besides having to purchase a phone that has hotspot capability). I used to use PDANet with a Palm Treo back in the day.. I'm also not opposed to physical cable-tethering if this is a possibility.
Thanks in advance.
I would like to know this as well. My Evo is not rooted and I'd like to keep it that way for now, so my only options are PDAnet via physical cable and bluetooth (which I can utilize on CM7 but it breaks wifi) or Easytether (physical).

So are you confirming that you've got Bluetooth tethering working with your phone using CM7? Does the build break wifi permanently, or is it only during BT tethering?
Haven't tried it yet but now that you mention it.. I'm going to try it!
Excellent, can't wait to hear the results..
Will pair, won't connect
Well, that takes that option out of the running. I really prefer a physical connection though, and so far, I haven't seen any micro-micro (assuming this is because of power requirements anyway).
Even with the phone right next to the NC? That's disappointing.. by micro-micro, are you referring to the type of USB cable needed? I don't have the device yet, so I'm not sure what kind of connections it has available. Tethering over BT is the last feature I'm waiting for before pulling the trigger on this bad boy. I plan to use it as a removable CarPC (using my phone for data and an external Bluetooth receiver for GPS).
Yup right next to it. Now, I've seen some guys report that GPS works though via bluetooth and I plan on trying that next (need to charge my BT receiver.. hope the battery still works!). They said you needed a GPS app to fix your location though.
As for micro-micro, yep USB. But then we would probably need a client side app to be able to recognize that kind of connection.
And wifi seems broken with BT ENABLED (not on, just enabled).. going to revert.
Thanks for doing all that testing. Let me know how the pairing goes with your GPS receiver.. if you get that working, you would need GPS software that has all of the maps built-in (since Google Maps, etc, requires a data connection).
My primary use for the NC will be as a car PC, so the only thing holding me back is the Bluetooth tethering with my Blackberry (uses the Dial-Up Networking feature set).
I've been hoping to BT DUN working for my BB 9700 also. At the moment it appears that ppp needs to be enabled in the kernel for this to work. When I run pppd from the comand line it complains about ppp missing from the kernel.
It looks like the pppd program is being compiled with the CM7 build and that the ppp modules can be found in the kernel sources so there is hope. We could ask to have it added as a dynamic module but I not sure how to go about making the request. (I am a noob to the forums and not allowed post in Dev and there may be a another way to make requested that is preferred in any case. )
I also found this program that claims to set up a BT DUN connection via ppp and it does run without faulting on my NC:
android.gval.biz
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I found a post in the developers forum where someone asked how to do the same thing. The link in the response discusses how to get Bluetooth GPS and WiFi tethering to work, but it does not mention Bluetooth tethering to a phone. Unfortunately, I don't have enough posts under my name to respond to that thread, but I've subscribed to it in the hopes that someone else will point it out..

Same same same same.
Unrooted Evo and although I am having fun with all the great things we can do to our NC's I am really not ready to root my Evo just yet. Having that phone with me is the only reason I am able to walk away from my keyboard at all and just because you can doesn't mean you should.
I run Fedora on my laptop and can tether to my Evo using Azilink and USB cable without a problem but if I wanted to drag my lappie everywhere then the NC wouldn't be any fun atall!
Weird is when we can pair the Evo and the NC via Bluetooth (yes a few inches apart right now) but neither one wants to do the actual connection. The message pops up on both Evo and NC asking to acknowledge the "secret" code and what else to do but say yes to them both. Then they both try and fail to connect.
I guess there is a fix for AdHoc on CM7 but I am not sure how to get the unrooted Evo to create an AdHoc network for the NC to connect to. If anyone has that answer can you let us know? I will keep searching as well.

I have an annoying problem: when i connect my phone to the Television with HDMI, wifi simply disconnects. Before it wasn't very important, but now i want to watch some streamings on my TV and i can't. Is there any solution? Has anyone faced the same problem?

I have the same problem but I don't know if there's a solution.
I have the same problem. Maybe we should contact the LG to fix this.
For me HDMI lost his utility without internet connection...

I got this problem too,
if you use network meter by tinyjames, realtime on screen bandwidth monitor,
you can see the actual symptons, not only Wifi disconnect
when you are downloading or Streaming like usual
if you plugged your hdmi to TV/ monitor, the speed dropped instantly getting extremely slow until no traffic is transfer (or disconnected from wifi)
if you unplug ur hdmi cable, it backs to normal
CM7 nightly build
What Rom do you guys use?
Offcial rom or other custom rom ?
I use stock V20q with SR2 kernel. The bug appeared in all previous firmwares I used.
Didn't test the speed, but no disconnects here. 3G or wifi, doesn't matter.
Django 1.2.1, 20q BB&RIL, Spica SR3R2 no OC.
Ok, I've tried this too. CM 7.2.0 RC1 - when I connect HDMI cable, low power sources at around -90dBm gets lost absolutelly. But my own wifi which is around -50dBm sometimes gets better, sometimes worse - difference is about 10dBm.
I consider this behavior quite normal, don't see a mistake about this. Theese high frequencies just act this way And this is HW related, not the problem of SW.
But try something like WiFi Analyzer, you'll see signal strenght of all available AP's on one screen. Or something like squall0833 has written to measure bandwith to get better results..
So if you are near your wifi modem the connection should work?

Hello guys,
I'm experiencing a problem which is NOT good.
I have netflix on my LG P990 and on my PS3. Somedays ago, I've noticed that netflix was kinda lag but only on P990. So I decided to check this out.
The problem has been found: When I connect a HDMI cable to my TV and to LG P990, the wi-fi connection speed drops a LOT. I've been testing with Solid Explorer to check the transfer rate.
With NO HDMI cable connected, I got around 1.5MB/s, at the exactly moment I plug the HDMI cable, it reduces to 200KB/s or less. Sometimes it stops the transfer.
Then, when I unpplug the cable, it starts to go faster again! I've already tested 3 different ROMs: MIUI, CM7 Official and NovaHD ICS (all with FULL wipe) and the problem has been detected on all of 3 ROMs.
Is there anything I can do to solve this problem? I really like Netflix, and would like to use it on my P990 on HDMI cable.
Thank you guys!
did you try another HDMI cable?
Not yet. I will try to get another cable with my cousin to check this out. BUT, I don't think it's the cable. Thanks for you answer.
May I suggest you try this on the official LG 2.3.4 rom too? With full wipe of course.
Could be a bandwidth issues but i think its probably a poor cable.
..
How did you get netflix working with nova hd? I've never managed to get it to work on current ics roms !

Yes, I did. Tested today and got the same problem. I tested with an original SonyEricsson's Micro HDMI cable from a Xperia, and got the same.
Already tested it on another TV with HDMI and got the same.

I don't know how to get it back (and I don't think it's good ideia to go back to Stock ROM, cause this ROM is really slow )
Are there any other options?

I'm pretty sure it's not a bandwith problem. I started a file transfer without HDMI cable connected and got 1.5~1.7MB/s. From the moment I connect the HDMI, after 3 seconds, It's already in 40KB/s and then I unplugged the cable, got 1.5~1.7MB/s again.

I don't have it on Nova HD. I mentioned nova HD beacause I used it to test HDMI on Wi-FI. I use it on MIUI (GB) or CM Gingerbread ROMs
Hey guys,
after some Google search and reading a LOT of stuff, just figured out how to solve or at least get a better wi-fi speed when HDMI is connected.
I've read something about router's configuration on wireless settings could be possibly wrong.
I just logged into my router and chaged the wireless channel from 7 to 1 and eureka! Got it now. Just watched a netflix video without lag and in HD.
Seems HDMI connection when on, still causes some interference on wi-fi, but it's MUCH better now.
Tested with some file transfers as well, and got almost the same speed as without the HDMI connected. Sometimes I get the same speed on both cases.
If I have enough time on these days, I'll test with different channels.
Ps.: Channel 1 worked for me but maybe it's just on my case. Possibly you will have to check different channels on your network.
It's p990 hardware problem
if you plugged HDMI cable and connected to TV, WiFi speed drops very low almost zero
but sometime it works just fine, most of time not,
confirmed this on stock rom and CM7
using CM10 now, haven't tried yet, I think it would be the same.
