Hey everyone... I got a text recently from Vodafone telling me that my, unlocked and un-branded, SGS has a Froyo 2.2 update... I'm already on JPA flashed via Odin.
I'm wondering if there would be any advantages of flashing the Vodafone version, I know it's already available for Odin flash.
Is it just bloatware? Or would it be worth it? Any exclusive things on the Voda firmware?

Hi everyone,
I've searched for references of this "UB" firmware version trying to find when a Froyo update via Kies will be available, and found virtually none.. I did find however, that this code is for Brazil.
So I wondered, does anyone know what firmware version can I use to upgrade to Froyo ?
Thanks.

Hi folks. I've searched the forum and can't find anything that specifically addresses this particular issue.
I bought my SGS I9000 unlocked in Egypt (yes, I was recently evacuated) with 2.1 and have updated via KIES to 2.2. My phone is rooted and has the Arabic firmware.
My currently installed versions are:
PDA: I9000JPJPG
Phone: I9000JXJPE
CSC: I9000JPJPF
I don't want the Arabic Firmware and want to permanently change to a US firmware BEFORE 2.3 is released and I want to retain the KIES upgrade capability. My question is this: How do I change the permanent location of my phone so all future KIES upgrades will be automatic? Thanks.

Just curious, why do you want to retain KIEs upgrade capability in the first place?
Well basically I jusy want to retain my apps (I know about and have AppBrain) and I want the phone to be as though it was bought here.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App

I live in the UK
i live in the uk and my samsung kies program itself updated, the offered me a firware update to 2.2.1 after this, but no before. apparently, looking at a list of the available types the t-mobile uk 2.2.1 isnt out yet, so i dont know where mine came from, i think the thing i looked at tld me it was a portuguese version. very odd, especially as my phone jst came back from samsung repair and they said the had reflashed 2.2 onto it
Hi, i've been waiting for my phone to tel me of the update to 2.3.6, its been a few weeks now and I still haven't got it
Is it worth updating? And does it give any new features?
If not then I will stick to 2.3.4
Thanks
BTW my bootloader is locked, and running in the UK but bought from the US if this makes a difference?
Hi,
Does anyone know where I could download an Australian stock rom?
It doesn't matter which version, because i'll update through kies.
