Hi,
I would like to use a webpage, with embedded videos offline(Camtasia (uses Flash and JavaScript)).
The site also works wonderfully with my i9000 (online). I downloaded the content of this page, now I have a folder with several files (xml; Html; Js; Swf; Flv). When I open the .html-file in that folder with a PC, everything works, the browser opens and like the online version, the same video is also available offline!
Unfortunately, I cannot open it on my i9000! the html file can only be opened with html viewer: then a window opens, that says:
The Camtasia Studio video content presented here requires JavaScript to be enabled and the latest version of Adobe's Flash Player. If you are using a browser with JavaScript disabled please enable it now. Otherwise, please update your version of the free Adobe Flash Player. "
I have also tried the "offline browser" in the download market, with the same result as html viewer.
What can I do? The browser is indeed able to open it, online! (Only how to do that now with the files?)
Using a Samsung Galaxy S i9000 with Froyo (JPO)

NetFront 3.4
NetFront 3.5
in my program menu i have the flash player installed but when i open a website where there is a flash content thet page say that i haven't flash player installed on device
how can i resolve this issue?
Many Thanks
Re
Do you've got flash lite or flash 7 installed. Its a big difference. You should install flash 7 for example. I've got it hosted on mij site for a direct download:
http://www.htcdriver.com/ in tools, under the download section....
beware that the flast 7 is very hungry, it will draw plenty of processing power.
I have Opera Mobile 8.65 isnatlled with the Adobe Flash PLayer 7 Plug-in installed. When i go to websites with embeded flash, it says i must get the adobe flash player.
Is there something i am missing?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
I am using stock rom that has Flash lite 2.1 and Opera 9.5 1660. I wonder if install the new Opera 9.5 1938 will over write the one from the stock rom.
also do the scroll wheel works on the new Opera?
Scroll wheel works here with 1938. But flash just doesn't do it for me, my whole device starts acting real slow when trying to watch a youtube video. The youtube player is good enough for me.
works here, but the processor get tired quick.
I can see on the data reception bar of the video that I'm in advance in terms of receiving datas, but the phone takes a lot of time to read and display the video...
It's laggy, but sometimes it's still bearable. Can play on google video and youtube. Works better on google.
thank you both, does it means I only need to install opera 9.5 1938 and flash lite 3.1 on top of the original ones? (the original one can't be uninstall)
I'm afraid this is the only way you can do if flash light 2.1 was already included in your ROM.
I just reflashed my device with a WWE version (previously I was using a French official one, without flashlight 2.1) and I noticed that flashlight is already in the WWE ROMS...
I just did the same, but I haven't tested out to see whether or not it still works this way.
I have a stock rom, with Opera 9.5 in the rom. I downloaded the new Opera 9.5 1938 cab,
VGA 1938 - Full Install to Device Memory
http://rapidshare.com/files/13784458...38_VGA_WWE.cab
http://www.4shared.com/file/59303458...ified=6e3eb675
but it won't install DIRECTLY. A message dialog said the old version needed to be uninstalled first, should I click "OK"?
or should I download another cab,
Opera Build 1938 Upgrade: (Not Resloution Specific)
http://rapidshare.com/files/13784362...38_Upgrade.zip
http://www.4shared.com/file/59303557...ified=6e3eb675
thanks advance for your suggestion
I want to upgrade my opera buils too, do I need to overwrite the files I already have?
I downloaded the 1938 upgrade... but it's not a .cab ... just 3 files.
does anyone know? can't seem to find it anywhere.
I am absolutely shocked that there are no clear instructions on this matter. Sure we have a dozen user guides on how to get flash lite 3 working on the likes of Kaiser etc, but what about the HTC Diamond?
I have Opera vers. 1780 and alphazero ROM v2 and Flash 3.1 works Ok on my Diamond, it download and play the video without bugs, its delay something until the play starts, but the same can happens in some old PC browsers...!!!
My problems are:
- It does not recognize and play .swf files
- the scroll problem occur only when i touch the video area, otherwise it works
- the keyboard appears always by touching the video area, it's annoying

If you have already Opera on your phone, you just need to overwrite the Opera9.exe and OperaL.exe and the third file opera.ini, but the last is not important at all.

You need to extract and to copy the files opera9exe, operaL.exe into \Windows directory

thanks for the quick response, but when I try to paste the files in the windows directory it asks if I want to replace the old files... I choose yes... and then it says the files are write protected or in use...
what am I missing? opera isn't running.

Sorry i forgot to tell you that you may use total commander or Resco Explorer 7 or higher to overwrite the ROM original files.
I overwrite the Opera file under \Windows and it works great. Thank you all.
UPDATE: Opera works great but NOT flash lite 3.1. On Youtube page, it only shows a white area at where the video box suppose to be. Anybody know why? :<
sorry to keep bugging you but I installed total commander and even that says: "cannot copy or move file!"
is there a setting somewhere inside total commander that I'm not seeing which will allow me to overwrite romfile's?
just rename the original files (e.g. Opera9.exe -> Opera9_original.exe) and then move the 1938 files to the windows directory. after that restart...
I got the rename and overwrite part ok for Opera 9.5 1938 but youtube still won't show video control after install Flashlite 3.1 on top of 2.1 (the one from stock rom)
1) Use a process manager to shut down anything Opera related. Usually two files.
2) Copy over the new opera files to the Windows directory. You may need to rename the old ones with .OLD
3) Install Flash Lite 3.1 cab, it has to be installed in the same place as Opera.
4) Restart the phone.
5) Delete your .OLD files
6) Start Opera - all should work on YouTube if that's where you go but it is patchy at best and a lot slower than using the YouTube client for example. It doesn't work on the BBC site for example.

worksssss...... thanks!
It's not great though, I only use it for links on site's to youtube clips and then don't zoom in (because the keyboard will pop up) and hold my finger on the clip to select fullscreen. that works with the least hickups and other annoyances.
It does landscape and normal view in fullscreen btw (both with progress bar)
PS. I have the original dutch 1.93 ROM With Opera 9.5 1938 build.
Hi Guys,
I am having trouble downloading files (not apk files) to my phone through the stock browser on my N1 (Both WiFi and 3G).
The specific files are avi, mpeg etc...
I have tried Download Crutch Lite, Linda file manager and Astro with no luck.
I am currently running Android 2.2
Your help would be appreciated.
Cheers
get astro file manager and enable browser enabler....
Hi,
thanks for the quick reply, I have already tried astro and enabled the download plugin and same goes with the linda file manager...
thanks...
same prob.
Try cyanogen....... :_)
Have you tried using a different browser? eg. Opera, Xscope or Dolphin.
I have the same problems trying to download amr files. I wish the browser would just let us download whatever file we wanted regardless of whether we can open it or not.
/edit Just tried using Opera. It can download my amr files! Too bad neither stock music player nor doubleTwist player can open it.. *sigh*
moved to Q&A
There is an old thread I have been posting the latest hacked versions on but that thread seems to be dead.
So here is where I will continue to post the latest version of the Flash libflashplayer.so file you can replace the version on your gTab with for tricking sites like Hulu to think you're coming from a PC rather than a mobile device.
Just install the latest official Flash from the Market. Then, using Root Explorer replace the libflashplayer.so file in your "/data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib" folder with the version that is in this zip file. Then you should be good to go with Hulu as long as you have set your browser's User Agent to Desktop.
This file is for Flash version 11.1.111.5

Just used this on my HTC Sensation 4G! Thanks!!!!
(Everyone remember to change to permissions to rwxr-xr-x )
You can test via http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html (Should say "WIN" for the version).
Hulu via Dolphin Browser (set to Desktop) outputting to my 46" HDTV = Awesome!!!
Could you explain the permissions briefly? Thanks!
Bye the way, I have root.

Paul22000 is taking about file permissions on the libflashplayer.so file (like read/write etc.) Here is link that explains it further. Wikipedia
Although I have to say I didn't have to change file permissions on my file and it works fine for me.

Interesting. I would assume that since the old file has those permissions set, it would be a good idea to set the same permissions for the replacement file. I'll have to test that next time!
Anyway, a picture's worth a thousand words, so here's 3 of em!

Sorry about that. The file is there now.
Not sure what I'm NOT doing, but followed the instructions to a tee on both my Acer Iconia A500 and my Gtablet running FB9.0. Tried with Opera, Dolphin and Android browser. Changed permissions, uninstalled/reinstalled browsers & flash.
Flash is latest version..

What exactly is it doing? Is it playing at all? Is it displaying a message? If you followed the instructions and installed the latest Flash from the Market and then overwrote the libflashplayer.so file in the zipped attachment AND you changed the User Agent setting on your browser to be Desktop then you should be good to go.
If you're not sure what User Agent setting you have you can type about:debug in the address bar of your browser (I use the stock browser) and hit "enter". The screen won't change but now if you go to Menu and Settings you should see UAString towards the bottom of the list. Select that and you can see and change what User Agent setting you're using.
well,it worked pretty well for a while last night. when i reboot it loses the flash setting and becomes 'and' rather than 'win'. i know this was a problem before,is there a fix?
Sorry, guess that would help, lol. I just get the standard message from Hulu that my device is not supported yet, I changed the UA as well from the beginning.
Followed the steps; Flash barely works then sputters out
I have followed these directions and have so far been mostly unsuccessful at running Flash.
Just to review, I uninstalled my ROM's hacked version of Flash (Flashback 10.0). Then installed the current version in Market. Using Root Explorer I find the libflashplayer.so file and rename it to libflashplayer.so.old. I have the special libflashplayer.so file in my Dropbox, so I copy it and paste it into the data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/ folder. Change the permissions to match the original file (matching the permissions screenshot from an earlier post).
At this point I go through attempting to test Flash in stock Browser, Dolphin & Opera. All browsers have user agent set to Desktop. Browser and Dolphin never work through repeated tests (and repeated uninstallations, reinstallations and copying the special lib file). Opera works occasionally, and barely. When loading the Find Flash page (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html) Opera typically doesn't want to load it as a normal page. After repeated refreshing it will work and report that I'm running Flash on Linux, Debug player is no, and the capabilities and enabled are all Yes.
I go to a Tumblr with soundcloud and other mp3 flash players. These will load, but about a second after the audio begins to buffer the player changes to "error." I can only get each player to load a few seconds of audio (it will continue playing the rest of its buffer after "error" appears).
Going to Hulu I usually get a blank darkness where the player should be. Sometimes I get it to "Loading..." with the spinning circles, but it never finishes loading.
Anyone got any ideas or tricks on how to to get this half-baked Flash to work a little better?
One more observation: if I leave this Flash installation (with the special lib file) installed and then reboot, it undoes the process. Using Root Explorer I go back to the lib folder and there is no so.old file, and the libflashplayer.so file now has the modified date of the original (sometime in 2009).
no matter what version of flash I use I cant get Hulu to play correctly currently
this is in the hulu plus app, on the website, and will multiple different roms
most of the time it will freeze video playback while the audio plays during the show, after a commercial plays it will usually just stop playing and not load back to the show
i dont know whats up with hulu right now...
ive heard rumors it might be related to hardware acceleration so im planning to go to a froyo rom and see if i can get it to work there
so far there isnt crap to watch on hulu so im not missing it too much
If you are using this modified .so file and have set your user agent in the browser set as desktop and are still having issues with watching a video from Hulu then I would suggest signing into your Hulu account, then go to your Account details page, then click on the Privacy & Settings tab and then go to the bottom right section titled Playback Quality and select 288p. Save your settings and log out and log back in to your Hulu account and then attempt to stream a video.
That's how I have mine set up and I can watch full episodes and I've even watched a couple of old Japanese movies without issues.

I'm running VEGAn 5.1.1. I had another gTab which I've sold but was running CM 7.0.1 on that one and Hulu also worked for me on that one.
just posted updated hacked Flash file
The link is in the original post of this thread.
No Luck
Tried everything posted here to get this Flash to work, and no luck. I'm running FlashBack 10.3 ROM, both stock browser and Dolphin set to desktop, nothing. I'm not looking to use this for hulu really, just pissed off that I can't find a good honeycomb rom with working Flash. Any advice is extremely appreciated. Thanks.

In the Q&A Flashback thread TEK112 reported the newest Flash working on his gTab although he did say that he didn't try video (just saw Flash slide shows working fine).
I was going to try Flashback 10.3 after reading that but now I can't get past adding my Google account to my gTab, it keeps saying that it can't establish a reliable connection to the server so I'm going back to Mountain Laurel 3.1 (which is FroYo) for now where I can watch HULU videos without any problems. But as soon as I see the Flash thing worked out on Flashback I will be attempting to load it up again.
Tried it on Caulk+Clem Combo v8 & Gtab Comb v3.3 & it works on both. Stock browser on CCC v8 & Opera Mobile on GTab Comb. When the commercials trys to play you get a message saying it can't play the content but as soon as the commercial time runs out the actual video starts & plays fine. CCCv8 plays smoother in normal mode & full screen. GTab Comb plays best in normal mode while full screen skips frames.
Hi,
I recently installed the 10.1.3 and I love the stability of the ROM. I recently tried to read some magazines on the Nook & I'm facing a peculiar problem where I cannot open any PDF files, EPUB or even Video files. I tried putting the files on the Nook memory and the SD Card too. All Apps (Aldiko, MX Player, etc.) return back the error "Could not load file".
I can't seem to understand what could be the problem here. All files work well on the computer, but nothing on the nook. Could it be a file permission restriction?
Any help would be much appreciated.
I can't help but I am also running 10.1.3 and don't have your issues. I didn't change any settings other than for the launcher. Could there be a problem with the gapps version you installed?
Sent from my BN Nook HD using xda app-developers app
Open the web browser and if you can read a normal pdf and view a video from youtube then your files are simply not compatible.
Suppose they could be getting corrupted. You didn't say if you tried them from the computer via the sdcard.
I transferred the files from the computer to the internal memory and the SD card, but to no avail. It says "Video could not be loaded" or "File could not be loaded", if a pdf does load - it usually comes as a blank white screen.
How do I check if I have installed the correct Gapps version? I did try and open a pdf from the web browser, I faced the same problem.

Go into Google play and download "Foxit MobilePdf". You should be golden.
[I may have forgotten earlier, that possibly all mobile web browser's can't view pdf files, or at least the one(s) you have can't do so. For instance, Firefox downloads them, but can't view them. You would still need a viewer, which I think you never installed one on android and hence your problem.]
