Fb Intaragration on none Hero Builds-Now with SMS fix for Hero Rom!!!!

Maybe this goes in the Dream Q&A but since contacts is an app thought it goes here...
So my question is, is it possible to get the FB connection to none Hero Rom builds? Please some one tell me yes n how to... Only reason im on Hero n hate it bc still missing texts

Integration...Non.
And I'm sure if someone can make an app for that...and they have the need to...they will, but to have FB integration in the stock contacts apk is highly unlikely unless google does it themselves.

dam so there no way of taking the one of Hero "People" and putting that on lets say Cy 3.6.6 and taking off contacts?

No. People.apk from Hero requires the HTC core.

n then HTC core screws up texts ough!!! i hate using Hero Rom n missing my texts but i want that contact list!!!

Get a google voice account, since texts go through web none are missed. (It comepletely fixed my sms issue w/hero)

Ya just put the request in... Was at basic so i didn't even hear about it till now

So is there actually a way to "get a google voice account?" I mean, it seems to me to be invite only.
I signed up months ago but still no invite!

its a long wait most will never get invited but it will roll out instead

This really isn't the best advice, since to '[g]et a google voice account' would require being on one of Google's magic invitation lists, and that's managed only by Google.

I have actually found the fix for the SMS issue so now able to use Hero Rom and never miss another text

Wow, I signed up Wednesday and got my invite Saturday.

Which is? Would you like to share your revelation for all the Hero users who are missing their SMS messages?

I didn't make this program so I'm not gaining any money off anyone downloading and paying for it but its a program called SMStoGmail. ALL your SMS are sent to your gmail account. Those that come in and send out. The only issue i having it with are: No MMS =( Ok thats it... Also for set up make sure to go on computer and set filter so anything with "smstogmail.rly.gd" goes into your in box and never marked as Spam. Maybe once there is an update it'll do MMS but for now, you NEVER have to worry about another miss text again!!! So this way when ever you get a text it sends a copy to your email and you get a notice even if you don't get the text to your phone!!!

Uh, try Facebook Sync on the market. It syncs all your contact photos with your friends on Facebook, I used this to make myself feel better because I wasn't using a Hero build.

App to send emails with pics in the body of the mail?

Is there anything like this? I can do it in gmail on my web book, but not from my fone gmail app.
I've been on a flext contract which included mms, but my next one doesn't so I wanted to use email/gmail to do the same really. I know I can attach a pic, and in the absence of anything else, that will do. Just wondered if there was an app that could actually put it into the body of the mail like an mms.
If not, there should be Any ideas appreciated.

I don´t know any app that do that but i think i could try to do that.
Why not i was thinking in creating some app for android.
When i finish the app i will post the link here or in the android market.

App to recieve sms via internet connection?

Hey all!!! where i work i have no phone signal i am however connected to the wifi there so im wondering if there is a way to send/recieve my texts using the connection?
Any info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!
p.s. i dont really want to log onto a sms-sending website everytime :$ i also dont want to have to rely on emailing people but at the moment it feels this is the simplest option?

google voice seems like your best bet but ud have to give out a new number to people :/

yeap google voice will do it for you..
also you can use your gmail to send text messages to cell phones..
ex: [email protected] and they can reply you back to ur email from there cellphones... cingular also has it but don't remember the domain..
I text my girlfriend this way when i run out off messages..

Hey that's pretty cool. I just tested it out and it works, even with picture messages.

For AT&T it's [email protected]

is google voice only for US at the moment tho? i live in UK im trying an app called SMStoMailbox at the moment, will give it a go at work today!!!

[Q] Help: SMS messages being sent on itw own?

Help please.. I was told that my phone has been sending sms messages to my friends on my contacts list. Without me knowing it, of course. What causes this? Any help would be appreciated.

You have obviously installed some app that has permissions to do this. Go though the most recent installs, and uninstall any that have the rights to send messages and see contact information.
Look at the sms's sent and see if there is any clue there, too.

What are the contents of these SMS? Is it like a butt dial SMS or are your friends getting strange advertisements and links?

uhm, they were receiving txt messages that I have already previously sent them. I mean older ones..

the re-installed apps are like the voice talk, voice search, torch light.. and the likes.. anyone?

Yes, I had this. For some reason the texts were marked as unsent, probably because I have bad cell coverage at home. On a reboot they were all resent, regardless of if they had been sent.
I started using GO SMS and I have not had the problem. I also updated my kernel, but I cannot imagine that was the issue.
I also rooted the phone and killed off the bloatware. Perhaps it was the social hub, which I have now disabled.

could it be the "sms popup" that i installed? I installed it for me to be able to reply much easier to person texting em. Its like a pop up where you can already see the message and reply at once..
I looked at the GO SMS, I saw that it also has a reminder that it allows the phone to send text messages on its own.
Whats the best messga widget do you guys use? Thanks!

Not impossible. I think I did use that to, but the GO SMS has a popup of its own which seems better.
There is also a GO SMS widget that works quite well, I find. I prefer the popup and an unread message count shortcut.

Do contact pics appear for you on Active Display when you get a txt? Dev help needed!

I don't know if this was the right sub-forum to ask this in, if not, please move it.
Using Textra and contact pics won't appear on the Active Display screen when holding down to read the notification. I've been going back and forth with Textra developers for the last 2 weeks for a fix and they just gave up on trying to fix it. They sent me 5 test updates to install to try to fix this notification problem with their app, but no matter what they did, contact pictures just will not show up on the AD screen like it does with FB or another texting app like Hangouts and what some people tell me, EvolveSMS.
I really don't want to get rid of Textra, because other than this, it's a great app. Does anyone know of THE fix for this problem for texting apps? What other texting app developers did for the one you're using where contact pics show up on AD? There has to be some common piece of code that needs to be implemented that texting apps it does work for used, I don't know, something I can tell them to do. Anyone here an app developer...or...know someone that made a texting app where this works? Someone told me to ask the EvolveSMS team what they did and if they can help out Textra, but I don't know how to word me asking them to help out their competition, why would anyone agree to that? Y'know?
I don't know, any help- a picture of your AD screen with contact pics with the app name you use, information if you're a developer, if you know something about this whole deal, if you could get information to convey to Textra, anything. Thanks.
