Howdy folks, your friendly neighborhood mod ashasaur here with a review of my new Motorola S10-HD stereo Bluetooth headset. As the name suggests, this is a Bluetooth headset that no only supports stereo sound, but REQUIRES a device that has stereo Bluetooth(A2DP) support, and that my friends...is what the HD2 has. Anywho, the review!
DEVICE-The device itself is really nice, great build quality. It comes with 4 sets of rubber ear dome-thingies so if you have giant ass ears like me you can switch the domes to ones that fit more snuggly. Included in the box are the domes, instructions and a Micro USB charger. The device has several physical buttons-Volume Up/Down, Play/Pause, Track Skip, Track Back, Power and End/Send. It is available in either jet black or silver.
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS-As I said above, you have to have a device that has stereo Bluetooth capabilities, also known as A2DP, which the HD2(and many newer HTC devices) has. The S10-HD works with both Windows Mobile and Android from my personal testing. I am using the newest Energy ROM, and Froyostone Sense v3.2, and stereo sound and calling works great under both operating systems.
FEATURES-One of the best features of the S10-HD is that it's volume controls are independent of WinMo's or Android's. Meaning, you can have your device's volume at any setting, and the volume on the headset is independent of this setting, which means that you don't have to fiddle with the volume slider on the phone in order to get a reasonable level, you can use the buttons on the headset...and your normal ringtone/system volume remains unaffected on your device. Now, one downside is that system audio is NOT pushed to the headset, IE new text or e-mail notifications still play on the speaker of your device, which is kind of a downer. Another downside is that in order for phone call audio to be pushed to the headset, you MUST answer a phone call using the Call End/Send button the the headset itself. Using the screen or buttons on the phone to answer the call will default them to the mic/speaker of the phone instead. The last downside is that the buttons on the headset, other then Call End/Send and the volume keys don't actually do anything under WinMo. I am currently looking into this and will update if I find out how to make them work, as they do work under Android.
SOUND QUALITY-The S10-HD features, in my opinion, better than average sound quality. The range of the headset is pretty damn good in my opinion. I always keep my HD2 in a holster on my left side, and the sound, even when walking/jogging is consistent with no fuzziness or fade ins/outs. However, the microphone is rather far away from your mouth, on your right ear no less, so you do have to speak up for people to hear you on a call. The sound quality itself is rather good for wireless headphones, and almost comparable to the stock HTC wired headphones, or any other wired set for that matter.
BATTERY LIFE-The battery life of the S10-HD is actually pretty decent for a stereo headset. On standby you will easily get 5-6 days, and connected you will get 7ish hours of music listening and 8ish hours of talk. It takes around 3 hours to fully charge the battery from dead.
PRICE-The Motorola S10-HD is available from stores in the US such as Best-Buy and Target for around 80USD, sometimes a little lower(I got mine for 50 bucks on sale).
PROS/CONS
PROS:
Lightweight
Good sound quality
Good battery life
Decent price
CONS:
Hardware buttons don't do anything
Calls aren't always pushed to headset
System audio doesn't play through headset
FINAL SCORE-8/10
Overall, it's a great little stereo headset, and you really can't go wrong for the price. Highly recommended!

S9s are way Better
Just Got the S10 after my S9 broke and here is what I think:
The S9-HD is way better than the S10-HD, Motorola really screwed up on this one in my opinion. The sound quality on the 10 compared to the 9 is terrible, bass is nearly non existent. The S9 was a little wider and shorter compared to the S10 which is more narrow and longer which means that the 9 fit comfortably and formed to the back of my neck so I could wear and big coat with a thick collar and still have nothing hanging off the back of my neck hitting my coast every time i turn my neck, and the damn ear buds fall off whenever I take em off my head.....I really wish I would have bought some replacement s9s instead of the new s10s they were way better.
so here is my two cents for anyone who cares........GET THE S9-HDs!!
---------- Post added at 08:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:16 PM ----------
If your device has A2DP Bluetooth functionality then they will work, but get the S9's.
nice device works fine
In my opinion, I think the best Bluetooth headset is The Nokia bh-503
if you want a cheap pair you can pick them up on eBay for about 20-30 dollars
I Had mine for a year an some change and i have no complaints, I recommend them too all my friends, I use them at the gym 4 times a week, and i charge them on arrange once every two weeks, they hold a charge for a long time, Crisp clean sound
I tried the the Motorola S-9 HD and i had alot of problems with them playing music and just staying connected to my Phone HD2,
heres the link to Nokia bh- 503 on eBay, on sale for 19 dollars think i might pick up a spare pair =)

Just came across this article describing a bluetooth vibrating bracelet. Those of you who are interested could check it out here.
http://www.mobilehornet.com/archives/643
this is quite cool but does it have a microphone and speaker? or does it just vibrate. if not just by a vibrating headset, or buy the bluetoth watch then you can see who is calling.
Funny, I was just going to post this item myself.
I saw this one: http://www.netpcdirect.co.uk/bluetooth_vibrating_bracelet.php
My first thought was how silly it was.
Then I got to thinking about it.......
I wear my Advantage on my waist, when I'm in a high-noise area (which happens a lot for me) - I can't hear it ring. I keep my bluetooth headset on my wait in another case, not in my ear at all times.
This would take care of the problem.
Also, at night, I sometimes get calls from work in the middle of the night. I keep the audio on my phone low at night, but it usually wakes the wife up anyway. This would fix that problem - I could mute the phone at night, and hopefully the vibration would wake me.
Oh, one more thing - I don't know if the Advantage could have an item like this AND the normal bluetooth headset. I would need them both to be active - the bracelet to vibrate, and then put the headset on & pick up the phone & talk through my normal bluetooth headset.
I found ( not expensive) and perfect solution for Athena owners.
It's LG HBM-500 with OLED Display and vibra .

The rationale for having the bracelet is that not all of us find it practical nor cool to put that 'thing' on our ear walking around and sleeping. This applies especially to people without many calls. If you get calls non stop, I supposed it is more convenient to wear something like LG HBM-500 all the time (not while sleeping though).
But people, let's come back to our senses. Why would you allow technology to ruin your lives to the extend of wanting to receive call while sleeping?

Sadly, I can't agree less - for now anyway. My job means available 24x7. And I get the overnight call far too often for my tastes. So in my case, a solution that allows my job to wake me up without waking my wife up is a pretty good thing.
I don't like to have to much separate gadgets: one for vibrating socond to speak
Ours Athenas have a few functions in one - so I found this LG as good comapanion ( three functions in one - view number, get signal by vibra and speak.
It's small , use mini USB to charge - you can put in close your head near bed .
For me it's much better to wake up by vibrations .So I can check who is calling - OLED gives perfect view all the night .
Because our Athena is without vibra it's best solution IMHO.
I don't like to have it in ear all the time - it's allways on strip - easy to wear

Ah, so you tie it to your wrist? How clever.
I have teenaged children who "spend the night" at friends houses. It is not unheard of to get a call during sleep from the kid, the other parent or (God forbid!) the police. If a call comes in the middle of the night, chances are it is not good news, but extremely urgent nonetheless. For me, a vibrate is far less jarring than a ringing phone.
A bluetooth watch is another alternative. It's advantage is that you could see who is calling, and you could control your MP3 player with it. The downside is it is very bulky and expensive as compared to the bracelet.
Not sure if they are compatible with Athena. Has anyone tried?

Why they could make such tiny BT headset and still have to have such bulky BT watch? Why can't you talk into the watch without touching the phone?

if you look on the websight that is selling the bluetooth wristband in the 3rd post on page one of this thread they sell a BT watch for just £50.00 in classic or sports editions not 2 bad, but probably not as good as the sony/erricson one

IT at a TV station. Among my responsibilities - support for our newsroom software (and someone is allllmost always at work since we run live news almost around the clock), and support for the computers that keep us on the air (which do run 24/7).
It's actually the reason I went from a normal pocketpc to the Advantage - we implemented a terminal server here, and it's not very usable on a smaller screen. But with the advantage, it's like Windows 2003 on your hip. Talk about small laptops

I did some searching for other bluetooth watches, and saw the sony/erricson one - doesn't that only work with ericcson phones?
The Sony Bluetooth watches DO NOT work with any Windows Mobile Phone, they use a propritary comm format that doesnt work.
JetWare is supposed to be working on an updated version that is supposed to support the watches. I have been waiting for months for this.
I also have the Citizen Bluetooth watch, but all menus were in Japaneese and you could not have the Watch and a headset connected at the same time as both use the Headset profile.

This is my main concern. The bracelet (or watch) is useless to me if I can't use it alongside my normal bluetooth headset. I need the bracelet to vibrate, and I would then put on my bluetooth headset & hit the answer button on it.

If none of the watches allows phone conversation and issue voice command to the device, it makes sense to me to have the bracelet as it is the least bulky.
Agreed there as well. I'm hoping to see some reviews. Before I spend the $, I would like to know about the working along the headset issue, and if it vibrates strong enough to possibly wake a sleeping person.
watch and headset

Bingo!!
pkchainsaw,
Good find! This is exactly what I've been looking for, conceptually. Now it's a question of quality, reliability, and cost. Also, more information is needed its functionalities. For example, does it vibrate? If not, how would we use it during meeting? (its okay for me if it does not vibrate, since I'm already using "mosquitoes ring tone" during meeting now, and that works very well) Can you make call also, or only to take call? (would microsoft voice command work with this?) Will the watch comes off the wrist when I wear it to play golf or doing other exercises involving swinging of arms?
If anyone is already a user, please share your experience.
Like to share with all my current IEM, Stereo Bluetooth headset, Portable Stereo Bluetooth Speaker, and Flip cover case for self hang-out or gathering moments. All of them has been tested and working very well with my Galaxy Note II N7105 LTE. Their selection are out of many choosen and tested stereo bluetooth headset and speaker, IEM and case gadgets. Below are the my crowned victory combination.
1. Samsung HS-3000 Stereo Bluetooth used with TDK BA200 IEM.
2. Leadsound i6BT Stereo Bluetooth Speakers.
3. White flip cover soft leather case (soft PVC?) with dual mode stand.
I must says, the above combination are absolutely my All-Time Best gadgets for hangout moments, and does not burned a big hole on you pocket.
In self silent mode, The music from HS3000 + BA200 are absolutely fantastic with sweet details, proper bass sound and very good sound staging. The SQ from HS3000 to BA200 sounded so original when compare plugging BA200 directly into my Galaxy Note 2 LTE. All genres of music play absolutely marvellous. Be it Four Play, Earl Klugh, Marcus Miller, Eric Bibb, Stanley Clarke, Peter White, Chuck Mangione, Miles Davis, The Crusaders, Al Di Meola, Billie Hollidays, Diana Krall, Rebecca Pidgeon, Karen Knowles, Laura Fygi, Sara K, David Craig, Bee Gees, The Police, Eric Clapton, Jay-Z, Pitbull, David Guetta, Maroon5, Nicki Minaj, Carly Rae Jepsen, Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, P!nk, Super Junior, TVXQ, BigBang, SHINee, Girls Generation, f(X), PSY, Se7en, BoA, and right up to Rock Heaven of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, The Beatles, Scorpions, Queen, U2, ACDC, Bon Jovi, KISS, Guns N'Roses, Aerosmith, Metallica and so on. God.. there's too many to be mention of my collections. And please don't shoot me if I did not mention your favorites, they are and should be just my favorites as well.
On the other hand let's talk about just Samsung HS3000 Stereo Bluetooth performance alone.
It came with Bluetooth 3.0 (without HS) connectivity which promises better power management between idling/suspend and data transfer mode thus has longer and more stability connection than the older Bluetooth 1.0/1.1, 20/2.1. During my usage over the last 4 weeks, it proven to be the best and the most stable connection. Once connected to my cellphone, it stayed connected for the next 2~3days after many calls, music streaming until it finally power off due to battery run-out. My experiences with my old Moto S705, i.Tech MC803, SE MW600 was not so good as all of them suffered many dis-connection from the cellphone in 1 day. This is excellent result to me. I have never experienced such a long timing connection between my devices and any bluetooth headset in the past 12 years of using bluetooth headset.
On the design side, the pearl white/pink colors HS3000 I'm having look gorgeous with it clean layout.
On the buttons control and layout side,
The front facial, the big square button on front facial for call/end call function was perfectly size and well located for fast response to calls. Not only that, it also work marvellously with single press activating the last call, where long press call up the great Samsung S Voice on my Galaxy Note 2 LTE.
To the left sides, there are 4 buttons for Power, Volume up/down and Sound Alive mode. I am particularly liking the sliding type on/off power button. It provide the most straight forward on/off condition that does not require to long press-and-hold waiting time, and maybe still wondering "did i press correctly and was the bluetooth headset already on or not?" Further impression with the sweetly sounded Voice Prompt Assistant "Ms. Samsung" making the various activities announcement clearly and gently also make me feel good about this HS3000. However, for the volume up/down and sound alive mode buttons usage experience does not hold the same good satisfaction, when compare to call and power buttons. The 3 of them are so close together making them not too ideal for frequent operation and need sometime to get use with. This probably due to compact size of HS3000, the Sound Alive mode button are located close to the volume up button, making it easily pressed by mistake.
To the right side, there are 3 buttons for Play (center), Back track/Rewind (left) and Next track/Fast forward (right). Those 3 buttons work wonderfully controlling my Galaxy Note 2 default Music Player for all the intended functions.
To the back, the big clipper for clipping HS3000 unit provding very firm grip onto any clothing one are wearing. It was a better clipper compare to SE MW600 flimsy clipper that easily dropped off from any clothing that MW600 clipped onto. Moto S705 also having similar good clip power, only it was more bulkier and much heavier than the compact and lightness of the Samsung HS3000 by comparison. Well that's about all I'm gonna say for Samsung HS3000. Next...
In open mode, blasting the i6BT stereo speaker when walking or a Starbuck, Subway, BigM is amazing experience, it make me feel so alive listening to my music, movie, MV and live concerts video's. The SQ of this very portable SBTspeaker sound clear, details and yet with powerful low mid bass. Especially truth when hold it in your hand, the powerful bass will keep thumping on your palm and make me feel so alive and feel like keep playing through it and enjoying all the smiling faces or some of the strange look from surrounding people (igonored them if the way they look at you does not please you).

Thanks! Well i do have one item from this list, just the note 2, got it here in Algeria for about 875$ factory unlocked
Sent from my GT-N7100
Totally agree with the HS-3000 - best Apt-X bluetooth receiver out there and so versatile with the ability to connect different headphones/IEMs for different use-case scenarios or 3.5-3.5mm cable for connecting to speakers without bluetooth facilities. Fairly inexpensive to boot (got mine for about $30USD from memory).

Wow! Yours cost only half of mine price.
Mine was original Samsung set with full box and 1 year warranty as shown on my pciture. What abt yours?
I've learned there's some claimed to be Samsung HS3000, but they are infact OEM set assembled with Samsung chipset board inside, or it was a replica HS3000 only. I've knew this as some of them who offering me that price told me so.
I've just forgotten about the TDK BA200 IEM price.
TDK BA200 was actually price at US$188, but I was lucky to got it for US$130 under special price by friend shop.

headset has been working fine.
had to purchase because i could not get any other brand/type to work with the mic controls
(wanted to be able to control calls, music, volume, etc)
yesterday, came home, was on a call (using headset), everything fine. (i use that darn thing 24/7, i absolutely hate
having to hold a phone to the side of my face)
put phone down for about an hour, i came back, was going to listen to some music, i noticed that the headset icon wasnt
showing up at top of screen....
removed headset....plugged back in...nothing
plugged back in, turned on some music, phone is not recognizing the headset.
decided to try to clean headjack, powered down phone, restarted, did everything short of reinstalling my rom.
at that point, i grabbed my old pair of urBeats, plugged them in and guess what, phone recognized them and they played music,
sounds, movies, just fine.
grabbed my stock HTC one headset (ones that came with the phone) and those worked just fine as well.
so i figured, ok, must be the headset.
i then plugged in the headset into my wifes iphone and also a random ipod and what do you knw, headset works
i decided to call HTC support, talked to a tech for about 30 mins, ran some troubleshooting,
he could not believe what was going on.
i ended up ordering a new replacement headset, i cannot live without the mic and music controls,
so i am really really hoping this new headset works (should have in a few days)
otherwise, i have no idea what the heck is going on....???
i've searched and saw that some people are having problems with the headset jack going out or trouble with headsets
but my problem is literally only with this particular headset,
maybe i shorted it out or something, but i am really hoping that is the case,
i will update in a few days when i receive my new headset.
BOTTOM LINE IS FOR SOME REASON, MY PHONE IS NOT RECOGNIZING THIS PARTICULAR
HTC HEADSET ANY LONGER, EVEN THOUGH THE HEADSET SEEMS TO BE PHYSICALLY FINE AND
WORKS ON OTHER PHONES

do you have a case? sometimes on the case where the opening for the jack is at, the case doesnt leave enough room for the jack. so when you plug in it wont seat properly alot of headphones have this issue sometimes so that maybe something for you to look at.
i do have a case (i've had it all along) and yeah, it's got plenty of clearance for the jack,
it's just weird, it's like one minute my headset worked just fine, and the next, it's not triggering or "activating" on my phone.
i can plug in ANY other headset into my phone, and it works just fine. the headset logo pops up and all is well....
it's just this darn headset, but the funny thing is, again, that the HTC headset works on other devices!
it's like a bad dream, haha....
and all i want to do is control my calls and music with the control talk!
aj
Ok, UPDATE: i ordered a new set of these earbuds and i am good to go, so had to do with the headset itself....somehow they broke or shorted or something...so weird.
Funny thing is the old ones work on any other device except for my ONE

Inateck Water Resistant Bluetooth Speaker BSTP-20
Overview
Hi all. So i’ve got my hands on another product from Inateck, this time ive got hold of a new water resistant (IPX5 rated) blutooth speaker.
Unboxing
The hub arrived in a small black, quite premium looking box with raised smooth music notes on the front. There are no details listed on the front other than the company logo.
So opening up the box im greeted with a very well packed, plastic wrapped speaker and a box containing the cable accessories.

Hands on
Ok so the plastic wrap has been removed and its time to place with the device.
As soon as I remove it from the bag the first thing you notice is how rugged this feels, I mean really rugged! around the sides is a continuous piece of rubber like plastic which feels really solid but at the same time feels like it could take a good nock and not damage the speaker in any way. Straight away feels like this is the kind of speaker you could take outdoors, camping or to festivals and not have to worry about it getting damaged.
The whole front of the speaker is the grill made up of a mesh of small circles, around which is a fine orange line as a design feature.
On top there are 4 rubber buttons, power, phone connect / hangup, volume up and volume down. On the right hand side is a rubber cover protecting the Aux in and USB charging point, on the left side is a rubber wristband.
The back is home to a smooth layer of plastic which is perfect for attaching the rubber sucker which is included if you want to use this thing in the shower, which i intend to
Testing
Theres a couple of ways I plan on testing the speaker. firstly with my phone to play audio over bluetooth, next as a phone speaker / mic to make and receive calls, and finally to play music stored on my android wear watch directly over bluetooth to the speaker (not via the phone).
Setting up
I was amazed at how easy setup was. pairing with my Galaxy S4 was as simple as holding the power button on the speaker for a few seconds to put it in pairing move and scanning for it from my phone. It paired up fine and was immediately able to play audio to the speaker with no messing around.
There isnt much else to show, it just worked, soon as i went to play music it came out the speaker with a good level of sound. The speaker is rated at 3W max output and some of the bassier songs made it crackle a little but for its size it pack a good quality sound clear, crisp with some good level base packed in. when standing the speaker up the rubber surround acted as a grip to stop it moving at all on my desk during my base music test.
The volume goes pretty loud. playing a David Guetta song I managed to register about 100 dB which is pretty loud.
Next up is the test to make calls. Again really easy, went to make a call and it just defaulted to the speaker. Its worth mentioning that the speaker has a built in microphone so you can talk at it to hold phone conversations. Again the sound was crisp and the microphone had no trouble picking up normal voice down to a whisper.
Finally testing it direct from android wear. This I thought might be a challenge for the speaker as it would have to pair with a new device whilst my phone bluetooth was on.
But no problems here, it found and connected directly to the speaker. Putting music on android wear for playback without the phone around is a bit of a pain. Basically you have to upload songs to google play music, then download it to the phone and have a setting ticked to also download to android wear. Wear watches only have 4gb storage so this can be filled quickly with a big library. For the purpose of this review I uploaded a single song onto the watch and shutdown my phone.
With the phone connected the default is to play through the phone unless you stop it from doing so, then the option comes up to play through paired bluetooth device. Again once I’d finished faffing with the querks of Android wear it worked perfectly. The music played from the watch with no issues, stuttering at all.
This is a massive bonus as you have on your wrist a portable music player which will work with this speaker no problem. I enjoyed a shower with my watch and some music with the speaker suckered onto the bathroom wall (dont worry no pictures!) I really really like that this worked fine with the watch and this is a massive plus point for me as it opens up the versatility no end.
Positive points
+Rugged design
+Rubber surround
+IPX5 rated
+Can be used to make phone calls
+Good sound quality
+Goes really loud!
+Sucker included so can be stuck on bathroom walls
+Works well with more than one device
+Works well with Android Wear
+Funky design. I really like the look and feel of this.
+Rechargeable battery
+Really simple to use
Negative points
-High volume bass starts to crackle
Conclusions
Overall a very nice little product. I was really impressed with how well it worked, and it just worked. I gave it to my non-tech savvy girlfriend and she figured it out without the instructions! The build quality is great, I feel like I can take this camping and it will just survive and last. The sound output is really good, I’ve left music on during the review.
Score
My Score out of 5:
:good::good::good::good::good:
5 out of 5 - I cant really find much to fault with this.
Bottom Line
Very impressive little device, lgood sound quality and rugged.

Hi all,
From iPhone to S21 Ultra, and now having the issue with connecting Buds+, or maybe it's how they should work.
So, on iPhone when I open the lid of Airpods, they will connect but sound will not be transferred to headphones, it will happen when I place at least one of the pods in-ear and after taking it out, the sound will again be on phone, not pods.
With Buds+, the sound will be on buds the moment I open the lid, and only after I close it, it will be on phone again.
So, is this expected behavior (different than on the Apple ecosystem) or there is a way to make Buds+ behave like Airpods on iPhone? What I want in short:
1) Transfer sound to earpiece not when the lid is open but after earpiece is placed in the ear
2) Transfer sound back to the phone when the earpiece is taken off an ear.
Thanks

I don't have the Buds + currently. I'm using the Buds live. But the behaviour should be same, in line with Samsung design.
1. Music should only start playing once they are in the ear. However, it will start playing if you press play on the music app, even if the buds are not in your ears. If you have your music player set up to force trigger music play when connected to BT, it will play regardless of whether its in your ear or not.
2. Unlike airpods, Buds do not stop playing when you pull out one of them from your ears. You have to pull them both out for them to auto-stop playing.

Hey, thanks a lot for a quick answer.
Yeah, the behaviour should be the same for all buds, plus/live/pro.
I am not so concerned about music, the issue is that everything is transferred to earpieces, including phone ringing and message alerts. Yeah, I know, no one will open the lid if they don't want to use buds, but the problem is also battery drain since they are basically working while in case.
Usually, I am using only one bud since I am on phonecalls a lot or listening to some lectures, and yes, the sound will stop after I take out one earpiece while the other is in case, but still, sound (notifications, ringing) will still be in buds, not on the phone, which for me is frustrating (Airpods make me lazy, I assume )

I have both the Buds and Buds+
Once the case lid is closed they Buds are off and charging.
If you're having issues do a network reset and clear the system cache. Closely go over your settings; there are many and spread out all over the place including in notifications.
Using power management* will screw them up and other services, avoid using all power management!
The Buds should work seamlessly with a Samsung.
Unlike airpods they never fall out... goofy Apple.
For music listening I recommend using Poweramp if you have a music database. Use it's excellent graphic equalizer to dial the Buds+ in.

Yes, there are some really nice things Apple does with the user experience. There's a reason they sell a bucketload of devices at obscene profit margins. I tried the Airpods Pro. They were quite good TBH, would've bought them if I could stand iOS...
