Ok I'm looking to install new/bigger memory card (1gb to 8gb sdhc) for more memory after maintenance. I'm currently running Aloysious 2.0.9 Maps, looking to run new Custom ROM ( LiquidSense 2.1, CM6, NFX 2.2 or aospMod v0.9.7)
* My vibrate mode stop working recently could it be ROM or do i need to unrrot and take back to Sprint
* Do i Unroot to the 2.27 OR the 2.31 stock ROM? Will i be able to ROOT back to a new Custom ROM like LiquidSense 2.1, CM6, or aospMod v0.9.7
* How/What files do i need to transfer over from my old card to new card after or before i flash new Custom ROM
Thanks for the help!

If you are not running Apps2SD:
- backup your current SD card
- put your backup on your new SD card
- Shutdown your phone
- Remove current SD card
- insert your new SD card
- Boot your phone and you should be good to go.
If you are running Apps2SD, search the forums... there are ways you can do it.

Did you try setting the phone to vibrate - always? Do that, see if it solves your problem.

If you decide to take into Sprint, yes you will have to run an official RUU - you could do either 2.27 or 2.31. I think, all updates, except the latest one, are rootable. So, you should be good to root and put a ROM of your choice.

Once you take a backup of your SD card, you can format the SD card before you run RUU. To flash a ROM, you will have to have the ROM and any related files on the SD card, other than that no other files are "required".
Hope this helps.

Right now I am running Android 1.5 from my sd card (the version were I just put the files on the card, hit haret and it runs) and was wondering if any one updated the 1.5 to 2 doing the same process. I am running Sprint and really don't want to unlock the phone or flash a rom.

you can still use the nomorootfs method, using haret, just select sdcard for the storage of sys and data and nothing in your precious win mo install will be touched. see my FAQ.
Super newb here, not looking to get flamed, and have been searching forums for a couple hours before posting this.
I rooted my phone
Flashed new heroc 1.6.2
Flashed Aloysius 2.1 (Not The Overclocked One)
Wiped Phone
Wipe All SD
Partitioned SD fat32+ext2+swap
Changed Ext2 to Ext3
Rebooted Phone
Phone will not start with the SD Card in it...I've even tried REdoing all of this in various orders...
The farthest I've gotten is getting it to boot up fresh with Aloysius 2.1, but still won't boot with the SD card inside.
FYI: Only reason I wanted to get a custom ROM in first place, is to have Apps2SD, if anyone knows of anything I can do here, or of another ROM to try....I'm down to try anything, just hoping that end result = Working Phone With SD Card, and Apps2SD

By "Wipe All SD" I assume you mean you formatted your SD Card? Can you still get into the recovery menu or is it totally stuck?
If you saved your nandroid backup (you made one... right?) and can get into recovery that is your easiest way back to a working phone... Once you've nandroided back I would try doing a factory wipe, wipe ext and dalvik on the card and flash the new rom and recovery image. I also would recommend you read farther into the Aloysius 2.1 thread, as he states that it does support A2SD: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6182764&postcount=19
As for other roms, I'm a fan of Regaw Mod and Fresh, but that's just an opinion
Fresh 2.1.2 Includes A2SD, but you'll need a pretty speedy SD card (aka: not the stock one)
If you read, it boots with no sd card. So he should be able to get into recovery menu. If you cant do it with the sd card in, maybe try loading the card when the phone is in recovery. Or try formatting the card back. It sounds like a problem with apps2sd.
Disclaimer, I am a complete noob but this is what it looks like. did you move your dalvik to the sd?
Hi guys,
Complete 1st time newbie over here. I rooted my CDMA hero 2.1 yesterday for the first time and wanted to flash in the liquidsense 2.1.1. I'm not a techie and so had a few questions however.
1) Liquidsense 2.1.1 should work with my phone, correct? It's Sprint CDMA Hero android 2.1.
2) How do I use apps2sd? Should I partition my sdcard before flashing in the rom? After flashing in the rom? And how do I partition it (what sizes)?
3) Are the apps transferred to the sd card automatically? Or do I do this manually?
Thank you folks,
KP
Anyone? Help?
1. Yes, it will work.
2. I dunno, I don't use apps2sd
3. See #2.

Sent from my CDMA Hero. I got some hot Gingerbread-on-Hero action here!
Copy everything from your sd card to a safe place on you computer. Then boot into recovery and scrool down to partition sd card just follow along with default settings.Don't upgrade to ext 4 unless the rom you are flashing has a kernel that supports it.Once that step is done copy the contents of your sd card from the safe place on you computer back to your card.Flash the rom of your choice that supports apps2sd then reboot.I am having a hrd time remembering I think when you d/l the apps and reboot it moves the apps to your sd card.Someone can correct me on this.I'll try to add a link to better instructions later today when I get home.
EDIT: Here is the link to setup instr.

I've finally gone to the point of rooting my CDMA Hero, finding an old copy of ROM Manager online that will run on 2.1OS, installing it and flashing ClockworkMod but now that I'm here I'm a little torn. All I want to be able to do is to save apps2SD to make use of my 16GB card but want the least chance of trouble possible as I'm still really new at this.
I noticed at the bottom of the ROM Manager screen that there is an option to partition SD to save apps2SD. Can I just do this and save myself the potential headaches of something going wrong by flashing a new ROM or do I have to flash a ROM that's at least 2.2 or higher before I can partition the SD card to save apps2SD?
Thanks for helping a rookie out.
If you flash a newer rom it includes the ability to move apps to the SD card.

Hi all,
I am quiet new in try ROM's. Desperately looking for help/guidance. I am very much interested to try ICS and though of flashing DjangoManouche X 1.1 (NoOC) rebuilded on 30a. Till this morning, i was with Temasek unofficial GB rom.
I downloaded the rom - DjangoManoucheX1.1KoBNoOC.zip but did not move to external SD card. I followed the instructions the below instructions.
1. To change partition layout from old to new (if you come from GB roms) and unlock bootloader using AIO tool by Spyrosk.
2. Flahed New v30a recovery v6.0.1.5 based on v30a kernel.
3. Cleared Dalvik cache.
I could login to recovery without any problems. Now in order to flash new Django's ROM, i need to have the zip file my SD card however i dont have it. How do I install the new ROM now without having it SD card.
I tried CWM sideload to move the zip file however it threw error "adb sideload failed to write protocol fault error". Please help me to move the zip and install this new ROM. I tried using the SD card with a reader in my laptop however it didnt detect (perhaps due to new formatting?)

Hey i got a way to move the zip to SD card from CWM recovery. I mounted as USB storage from CWM and then my computer detected it without any problems
Btw, i am exploring the ROM. It is butttery smooth and looking great. Thanks Carburano. Happy new year..
you could have also put it on internal card, no need for sd card... works flawlessly...
