Just wondering if there's any app or mod out there that allows us to use the volume keys to change tracks. Really troublesome to take the phone out just to skip to the next track...
Is there a way to hack the Captivate volume buttons to change tracks on the music player?

I know Galaxy tuner offers key mapping for those buttons. You may want to check that out. If not currently offered maybe the dev could add
Is this possible on the Captivate? I am on the latest Serendipity ROM. it has Skip with trackball option but our phone has no trackball!
Seems counter intuitive. I mean your playing music, the volume buttons seem kind of important. What if you want to turn it down and just end up skipping tracks?
Long press vs short press. Cyanogen mod on nexus one implements this.
I swear I have tried every setting in the app and I can't seem to find a way to skip tracks on my pebble. I get the track info, volume up/down, and pause/play to display. Any help is appreciated!
Device info:
Galaxy S5 running kitkat 4.4.4
Haha, nevermind. I guess I wasn't holding the up and down buttons long enough. Cheers!
From previous samsung phones, pressing the volume all the way down will turn into silent. Now i cant do it on my S21Ultra, i have to go the toggle buttons on top to keep it silent.
Anyway to use the volume keyagain?
Press volume button once which will bring volume, tap the three ... and you will be able to change volume there. That's besides the volume toggle in the quick toggles
**actually just playing around, if you go into settings>sounds and vibration>volume> and uncheck use volume keys for media, that will bring back using volume switch for silent, vibrate and etc

Welcome!
I use an app called sideActions. Some of the features are paid, but works pretty well. Allows you to bind actions to press of power button or volume buttons. I use power button long press to switch sound modes and short + long press for flashlight.
