Well, you could always just extract the market.apk from the Cyanogen ROM's .zip.

unfortunatelly the new market needs donut frameworks so you would also need to add them

But I don't think its gonna work on 1.5 being that its a 1.6 apk. but you never kno, try it out!

It's a 1.6 apk, so you'll need the newest CyanogenMod experimental, which already HAS the new market built in.

Wrong thread

On Cyanogen 4.1.10 I had to manually put it in /system/app and reboot the phone. Then it replaces the old Market. Otherwise it said that it could not be installed on this phone, when I tried to install it from the apk. It works flawlessly.

will it work on the 1.5.5 hero build by drizzy?

4.1.10 already had many of the 1.6 guts, but you could be right, it may work in all ROMs.

The best way to know is to try it.

the thing i'm worried about is if i do install it and replace the old market and it doesn't work, how will i get the old one back?
p.s. i'm using MaDaCo 1.5.1 so does anyone know if it will work or not?

you would need to push vending.apk to system/sd/app_s/, if it doesnt work push the old one back. I've heard a couple of people say it doesn't work on 1.5, so don't get too excited..

it does not work on CM 4.0.4 .. tested..

ok im kinda a noob so uh... how exactly do i push the vending.apk and how would i push it back if it doesnt work?
oh and before i said im using MaDaCo 1.5.1. i meant im using MoDaCo 1.5.1, not sure if anyone noticed.

WHat they mean is that you need a ROM built on ANdroid 1.6 (Donut), not the "Hero 1.6" that indicates the progress of the ROM mod/developer.
As far as I've seen there has not yet been a Hero ROM released that is based on Android 1.6 (Donut).

Just use proper ROM. In my testing only Dark Knight didn't like Market, plus it had other issues like nonworking Calendar. Try my ROM, M4 or Doc's V6.

And on a side note - I got my hands on hacked Market Vending.apk 3.5.19 with disabled compatibility and disabled Market self-updates. It is included in my latest ROM. did I say that it's waterproof too?

[FIX]Offline RCTweaks by RCTeam|Sebastiaan15|Prof Peach

First, lets clarify the credits:
RCTeam provided the tweaks in the first place
Sebastiaan15 fixed tweaks scripts to use files stored od sdcard instead of hosted ones on Robociks server (which are down) for his rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1315961&highlight=runnymede+aio)
Prof Peach for creating a flashable zip for desire (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517975&highlight=tweaks+fix)
all i did was fix the updater script to work on DHD, and fix the tweaks scripts where necesary, because desire uses sd-ext for some system files
what is this
this is a fix for all of us still using sense 3.5 roms with RCTweaks, which makes pretty much all of the tweaks work again without using the offline server(fonts,bootanims,oc daemons...). this changes tweaks scripts to use files stored on sdcard(included in zip). everything should work, except settings/rctweaks/extras/recommended apps(avalible in play store) and updating of the rctweaks. if you find something else not working, please report and i will do my best to fix it.

i would recommend to do a nand backup first, just in case
flash zip through recovery like any other flashable zip
do not delete /sdcard/.RCTeam folder, the files needed for the tweaks are in there!
do not click on update tweaks in settings/rctweaks/extras because it will delete tweaks apk and you will have to manually push it back
i found this fix a while back while trying to locate a flashable zip of virtuous oc via google. i had no idea where it came from or how it works. Thank you Prof Peach for providing a source for that zip, so i am able to give proper credits.

for now, only RCMix 4.0
i think it should work on any sense 3.5 rom which uses RCTweaks. so if anyone is willing to test on any other rom, please report so i can add to this post
my edited update script(originally made by Prof Peach) is very basic. it works for me in 4ext, i havent tested in cwm
and for the end, standard disclaimer: i am not responsible if anything goes wrong. i will try my best to help, but my knowledge is very limited. also, please dont bug people in credits for the mistakes i might have made

on patchas rom bootanimations didnt work and swype to clear was removed when switching black/white systemui in tweaks. fixed in new version of rom

it cant work, because this does not contain full rctweaks, neither does arhd. if you have rctweaks installed, status bar should come back after reboot.
if none of this is the case, extract /system/app/systemui.apk from original rom zip and push via adb, or copy to same folder on your device using root explorer or something similar .dont forget to set permissions rw-r-r

it should yes. im saying that generally the download does work. might be region/isp/mobile related. i can surely post some mirror, but other download sites have the annoying waiting that i really want to avoid.

huh, not really unfortunately. i havent tested this even in rcmix, because lyoptas camera i'm using has this option built in. check settings menu in camera app, with some luck the function will be there

well, i made a test on my rom, and the scripts themselves work, but in my case camera obviously uses built in sounds(in apk), which makes it not "see" the changes. i looked in patchas roms zip and sound files are in same place then rcmix. so i guess your case is the same as mine. check camera settings

Like monitor, calender, antispam (Firewall), search, input setting of language. I managed to change monitor, firewall and input setting but not able to change Calender... Will check it again. Also MIUI extended setting not working, so changed System UI which helped me to get it working. WiFi, 3 G work great. only need one help. when we hold home key, we got option like kill app and manage application ... its in Chinese in your ROM, if you name that APK I will make it English (I am still finding it)

I have tried to port 2-3 roms nut everyone was having issues. this rom I managed to get fully working.
BTW What is feedback of this rom as performer and how do you changed those chinese keyboard.
I also want to do so.

For Chinese keyboard I used other keyboard (Swype) and for another I changed apk's which I will attach in the evening so you can also change them. Regarding performance it's good .... I will update with apks in the evening

No vibration while pressing keys on keyboard n ui buttons...overally very smooth n another great ROM...

Miss, I have tried to change but not able to get success..... so I found another way to face the problem.....
So download new app from the market .... aCalender
better than Google one and get sync automatically ....

Thanks but ringtone issue not able change it ....many options but always default ring plays ...any help ..some problem with key board too ...if you change too many key borad ..next time it wont detect .....

For Ringtone use Zedge download whatever you want and enjoy
unless you can do one more thing .... whichever song/ringtone you want copy it to system/media/audio/ and then you can set that as your ringtone.
regarding keyboard first install any keyboard and then uninstall what is coming with the ROM with Titanium back up, I prefer swype

Dont worry guys MIUIV4 is coming and I hope that it is going to raise the bar

BTW MTDEV have posted Paranoid android cm9 and cm10 so will have a look at them.

Even Aben didnt released his version of cm10 rom from where I can try to port other roms as his version will be more stable.
I f we can combine the two device we can possibly raise to a new level

Tanuj, Abenagiel ported some ROMs like Lewa Odex version (i don't know whether ours is odex or deodex version), MIUI and some other but because of time crisis he is not able to upload them. Also he created audio blast MOD for all CM7 based ROM and he will upload them all, but we have to be patient and respect his work and time. (It doesn't mean guys who always found here like me are work-less but my work grants me that thing, just kidding :laugh::laugh::laugh

[MOD] Phone calls on CM10.1 / AOKP 4.2.2

Hey guys, this is my first post on the forum.
Many people got phone calls on stock ICS, then changed to 4.2.2 and lost it
But while seeking the forum, I GOT IT AT LAST!!
Although, it has a bug, which is when u receive a call and slide the call button, as soon as u press it it says "unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped working", but it might work perfectly on other ROMS
I tested it on Infamous ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2220912
Here it is :
Format System (No data wipe required if ur reflashing same rom)
Install ROM, Gapps, and the file attached
Fix permissions (just incase)
Dont reboot untill u do all of that, as in dont reboot in the middle of the procedure.
There u have it
Please tell me if it worked
EDIT : works perfect on infamous 1.7.2, just extract the zip file, paste all the files in their place, and keep the phone.apk untouched (keep the original phone.apk Cruz it works)
P.S : i really appreciate Khomsn for making the CM10.1 build with phone calls, but that build is REALLY laggy.

I can make a call and stoping with push end when i'm tryng calling, on my tab sounded a ringer and working fine for receive call. everything is working fine to me.

Thanks for the effort, but this isnt working for me. I cant even get the phone apk to show anywhere. Im not even sure ifi t installs one. If there is another installation method that isnt mentioned here but that I need to do please refer me to that. Otherwise after flashign th one file above and fixing permissions I get no phone apk to even test this. Im on the infamous rom as well.

Umm... i just installed the phone.apk from Khomsn's thread as a normal apk and that seemed to fix my problem.
Otherwise. Just push the phone.apk in /system/app/ and fix permissions (i dont think fixing permissions is neccesary but i just do it incase)

Consider installing gapps that contains a phone apk after which you flash the phone fix above. Your tab should make calls flawlessly but know that the speaker is set to off by default so you have to activate it when making a call.

Ok thanks for the reply I do need a link to the GAPPS with a phone apk though , unless of course the GAPPS for the tab 10.1 comes with it but why would it. If Im wrong please let me know.
EDIT: Ok so my bad, looks like I need a 3g tab and I have a wifi tab. Thanks for the help nevertheless.

Do search for gapp of 20121212, it contains a phone apk. Gapps for custom roms often contain the apk.

i think it's the META-INF that's the issue.
i'll try to put them in another zip and reply.
BTW: i've got a build of infamous aokp with phonecalls "without the need to do anything" but i think im gonna need permission to upload it.
But for the time-being, i think installing the phone.apk like a normal app will work "iv'e tried it out of curiosity and it actually installed )
but i still don't know why com.android.phone keeps FCing after opening mobile data in settings or when answering a call. Anybody got any tips.

Im going to try.. But i no longer have the Tab cuz i replaced it with a Note 10.1
So im gonna try to fix but im not gonna get to test it. Sorry
