What are your most essential app? - HTC Aria Themes and Apps

Hi everyone,
Just wondering what your most essential apps are? They could be in any category and even games — my eyes are kinda tired browsing the many different apps available!
So far my essential apps that I use day to day are:
1. eBuddy: keep in touch with my friends
2. 3G Watchdog: keep track of my data plan usage
3. Astro File Manager: I think everyone has this
Thanks for sharing your essential apps!

Mint.com
Camera 360 Pro
And of course, the beloved Google Search

I posted this question in another thread, but since Tasker has been brought up here... Since the Aria has to be charged while it's still ON with CM, is it possible to make a task to turn the phone off when it reaches 100% charged? Preferably a task that can be turned on/off.

Astro

Terminal Emulator

My phone just wouldnt be as useful without those apps.

The Power AMP Music player with built in preamp and equalizer is something I use daily.
Then I have Nook, and USA Today so I can read while listening to my music.
Calorie Counter is important because it helps me keep my diet plan on track.
And SETCPU which helps me to manage overclocking my HTC Aria so that EVERYTHING runs smoothly when I want it to. Of course the OC kernel I run in my Liberated FR007 rooted phone, found here is awesome too!

Gmail, Calendar, Messages, Call - 'nuff said
News - for a bit of daily reading cached via wifi in the morning
Gmail Tasks - a link to the mobile web page
Aldiko - ebook reader
Sipdroid - for if I want to make a call that isn't covered by my phone plan (same VOIP account I use at home for billing simplicity)
Tasker - power saving, change phone state based on calendar entries, custom brightness/GPS/WiFi widgets, speaks SMS sender's name on conditions. It's the swiss army chainsaw of Android.
JuicePlotter - so I can waste power seeing a pretty (but not particularly useful) graph of how much power I'm wasting
DroidStats - Nice widget showing remaining calls/sms/data on my phone plan
NetCounter - Data usage (with ability to import/export from SD card and graphs)

Astro
Htc Mail
Htc Peep
Nimbuzz
Default WebBrowser
Angry Birds

I installed sound hound, but it's bit full... Great app thou

HTC APPS LIST OnPhone

Sup everyone. Thought id share how im organizing all my apps for the Rogers Dream while im waiting for H's root on this damn device haha. I've catagorized my apps for easier access cuz i didnt really like the scroll up/down to find an app. I sure wish I had a list like this when i started off so i hope this helps some of u guys. So ive had this several days after the release date here in Canada and have been having a pretty good experience with it. Loving the free apps that are available in the market and also loving the reactions i get about the phone. Key things that are bothering me though is that it does slow down at times and the battery life is never enough. Im with Rogers paying $70/month tax included with the promotional $30 for 6 GB/month data plan. I also do work at a Future shop as a Cell Expert so i deal with all the major providers except for Solo Mobile. So feel free to ask about any questions about plans/phones. So heres my list which ill be updating as much as i can, IF i can that is... This is actually my first post ever in a forum so yeah....haha. Thought id rep the Dream(yeah, not G1) here in Canada. So after all that...here we go:

Yeah list is pretty long but hopefully helpful. My aTrackDog count is 58, but could be alot more. im trying to be pretty careful on what i do or donot keep on my phone. This list does include default apps and downloaded apps. I will post up pictures of my home pages if requested. i actually also got a list i made up on apps ive download before but took out and also a list of apps id like to get / waiting for and if u guys want that posted too just let me know. So take care and enjoy, happy downloading and please comment on anything about ur apps experience and to what other apps i should add to my list. oh and major thanks to the developers and best of luck to haykuro on the rooting of this phone.
QuickOffice?
I personally think Documents to go is better than that one.
Ive gotten used to QuickOffice and cant seem to find this Documents to go in the app market. wats the actual name of it? are there any other apps anyone else would like to share that they would add to this list? ive download more apps to this too actually so ill be updating it tonight

Recommended Apps and Settings for Cyanogen roms

I am pretty new to this world of G1 ROMs and rooting. From posts I have rooted the phone, put on the latest Cyanogen ROM, got an 8 Gb Class 6 SDCard and setup 3 partitions.
I was wondering ... what applications and settings do people recommend???
I just found out today about the better onscreen keyboard and feel like an idiot for not using it sooner.
I currently use:
Steel instead of the regular Browser
Handcent SMS instead of messaging
SnapPhoto instead of Camera
Qik instead of Camcorder
WeatherBug
Babbler Lite for Facebook
YouMail for Voicemails
Twidroid for Twitter
Other apps I have and use (not as frequently are):
Wireless Tethering
Google Voice
Google Maps
Places Directory
Google Talk
IM
Widgets:
Scoreboard
FML
Power Control
Search
Since I update with Cyanogen's experimental ROM I do not use a theme.
I appreciate any feedback. I just don't want to miss anything like I did with the better on-screen keyboard.
I would recommend the normal programs for things like the camera, browser, or messaging. we have modified versions of them in the android development forum. i use bloo for facebook, and get visual voicemail(T-Mobile) for voicemail
I got the TasKiller app, it comes with 2 widgets, a kill all button and a taskbar to show you running programs. Its handy if you ever get a lot of apps
i personally find after trying a few that advanced task killer runs the absolute best

I've used all of those, and recently found taskpanel, which has a very slick interface,...if only it had a widget. Taskiller always gives me FC w/ Wait option when i come back from the lock screen, but otherwise it worked well
Messsages - ChompSMS / SMS Handcent
Facebook - Bloo / Babbler
Twitter - Twidroid or iTweet
Browser - Opera Mini (hella hella fast)
Music - MixZing
Camera - FxCamera (Neat filters / fast fast shutter + auto focus!!)
IM - Hi Aim / Hello AIM
CoPilot
Movies app
yup =D
Su file browser & Terminal
itweet for twitter
Quick Boot - free in market
Advanced task Manager
The most important app for quickly working on your phone is SU File Browser. Unless you are a purist and only like the terminal (which I certainly respect), you should have this app.
I use all the standard apps, don't see a reason to use replacements. I use Bloo and twidroid for facebook and twitter.

Phone Tracker

Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm struggling to find any tracker app that can actually provide my phones location. I've searched through the forum but can only find old posts.
All apps (lookout, wheres my droid, android lost) can all send messages to email accounts but none can pinpoint my position!
This used to work, I'm starting to think it must be a frozen app (that is needed) or ROM issue etc.
Has anyone managed to get their GPS position working?
I am on odexed JVR (with loads of apps removed/frozen)
Thx Dudes.
I would also like to hear about the same.
If you provide a list of the apps you have frozen, I'm sure someone could let you know whether or not one is necessary.
Personally, I use SeekDroid to remotely locate my phone, and I have absolutely no problem acquiring its GPS location.

Hmm... does Google Maps work? Or is your GPS troubles specific to those lost-phone-finding apps?
Google maps and navigation work really well, GPS accurate to 10m most of the time

Or we like to manipulate the data we install and download. Appreciate your opinion but I personally find it invalid.

Maybe you should give the tablet back to mommy and daddy. Play time is over!
my comment was a bit confusing, one thing is a very useful application, and another thing that I consider a top application, I use daily applications like astro or root explorer or battery saver, but this is why no android gives me a native application to do, and I do not think an application that serves to complement android should be on these lists, only that, I thought the list was more for the "normal" use of the tablet (not power user )
I still apreciate your opinion, I just disagreed with it. I felt the poster was looking for good honest thoughts and those 5 popped into my head. I use them daily if not hourly. Didn't mean to "attack" but to "educate". I am no "power user" just a user. I think this is why we all come here, commradery and differing opinions on something we all love. Thanks for the clarification on your opinion.

If you read that and said to your self, yea whatever, you must be a kid who still has to answer to your parents. Or just an ignorant adult.

Gameboy Color A.D. - heard in another thread this worked well.
Any other apps people have tested that run well?

You need to install WonderShare Mobile Go on your PC first. Easy to use.
My apps so far that work well are:
Shake Calc - good little calculator with scientific functions too
QuickPic - photo/video viewer with lots of great folder organisation (including exclusion)
Node Beat - Great for showing off sound capability
aLights Pro - you want flashing lights or a handy torch?
Trapball - a very touch friendly simple time waster game
I can't figure out how to search apps by name and I can't find shakecalc anywhere. I have installed:
ASL American Sign Language Flash Cards
MyScript Calculator
Google Sky Map <-- omg, wtf bbq this is amazing

or if you want to pair the galaxy to any android device using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2500999 then these apps give you almost all the functionality. just need s voice really.
