[Q] Please help! flashed without disabling lagfix-3button recovery+downld mode gone - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Please help.
I have the Bell i9000m. I had JH2 rooted with RyanZa lagfix 2+ (and USB debugging was on) and the phone rebooted on it's own and couldn't load the firmware. It kept booting until getting the Touchwiz lockscreen with black background but the touchscreen wouldn't work and the phone would just shut off.
I know it's better not to flash a rom without disabling lagfix but at that point didn't have a choice anymore. At that point 3 button recovery (2e) and download mode were working. So I tried to reflash JH2 with Odin but this time the phone wouldn't even get to the Touchwiz lockscreen and just shut off on it's own. Went into recovery and did factory reset and wiped the cache, tried rebooting, didn't work. Tried to reflash JH2 and same thing again. So I tried flashing JP3 with Odin and I got into recovery mode allowing to reformat internal sd. Tried all the other recovery options (wipe cache, etc) and then tried internal sd formating. Don't remember the exact details but said something about not being able to find E: and sd card not mounted.
Now when i reboot i get the i9000 screen the "S" screen and then it goes into a weird screen that has red text on the upper left side with a little android behind the text and some yellow text on the upper right side saying: "Kernel panic, upload mode" and it won't go in either download mode or recovery.
At this point i have no idea what my problem is, i read about sd card failing on the i9000m, is this what happened? if not can i do anything to fix this?
Really running out of solutions right now, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Gab
P.S.
(don't know if this is relevant but had stock JG8, tried to flash kaplik JP6 which was really buggy and kept force closing (sort of, i would press power on to turn on screen and it would be a black background and have to load everything once again, GSM connection, wallpaper, widgets, etc.) so I flashed stock JH2 with Odin, which still did this sometimes but was far more stable than JP6)

My phone has a blackscreen after JPK update

I'd like to start of saying I've read almost every thread regarding this and I understand that there's a good chance that my internal SD is permanently blown up I'd just like to establish some things here that may put me in a different boat.

I just want to be clear ...
So I last night I flashed JPK, PDA/MODEM/CSC with 512pit installed latest oneclick lag fix 2.1.1, SGS tools and other basic apps. Was running perfect all night except that RAM seemed to be eaten up easily.
Then this morning Advanced Task Killer Froyo Beta started acting up. So I tried a reboot and then I got this black screen issue.
Tried reflashing JPK again. Just successfully flashed JH2 but still the black screen.
Recovery/Download mode work. With 2.2 recovery mode I was getting SDCARD connect errors on screen, but since JH2 I don't see them. Tried wiping cache partition, and factory reset. Still black screen. I've tried without external SD and SIM and just recently with external SD.
In this JH2 recovery mode "update media, finished" and Apllying MultiCSC works properly too. When in recovery mode, Kies tries to recognize it, but boot/blackscreen I get nothing.
Is there anything else I can try? I have read through this whole thread, but it's a lot to read and understand. Anything with ADB? When in recovery mode ADB shell returns a device not found

Currently it's back on JPK for the time being and using ADB I can finally get it to recognize there is a device, but it says it's offline. What does this mean? Does this mean that it wasn't in debug mode when it crashed? Or something else? At this point does this help me at all. At one point I did get internal and external drives to show up in my computer, but I couldn't acess them. As if they weren't mounted. Actually, that's how it's behaving now.
Can anyone think of anything else for me to TRY at least? I don't want to give up just yet. I realize all signs point to bricked but I just want to try a few more things.
Any tips are appreciated.
Thank you very much

[Q] Galaxy S I9000M (Bell) Black Screen

I'm looking for some help in remedying my Black Screen problem. I've done some research and I've tried many of the solutions people have provided to no avail. I was attempting to run root on my Froyo install. After it was finished and it rebooted, after the 'S' animation it simply sits at a black screen. The two buttons at the bottom light up if touched. When I entered Recover Mode it told me that there was an error accessing the internal SD card. This was however fixed when I flashed JG8 with 512 PIT.
What I've Done:
I've let it sit for hours at the black screen and it's not changed.
I've tried to install JH2 and JG8 using both 512 and 803 PIT. JG8 with 512 PIT fixed my red text in recovery mode. I also tried to follow the steps I took originally to get Froyo on there, with the same black screen outcome.
I've tried to connect to Kies in both Download and Recovery mode but Kies can't seem to make a connection.
Before I send this back to Bell to get it fixed, could anyone else weigh in on this problem? Has anyone had any success in fixing it?
did you happen to notice any error message with the SD card?
I did receive some errors about mounting the internal SD (red text) in Recovery Mode. However I reflashed PIT 512 with JH2 and it went away. I can format data/cache in Recovery Mode fine without errors now, however when I boot I still get a blank screen after the Galaxy S animation. If I press either of the touch buttons, they light up white and stay that way until I shut down the phone.
Do you have an external SD card? And will your phone boot without it?
Unfortunately I get the same results with the external SD card and the SIM card out as I do when they are in the phone.
that's the problem, find your invoice
take it back to the store to have it fixed
you can't fix the internal SD card problem

Upgraded through KIES to FROYO buts stuck at BOOTING & VIBRATES

I have just upgraded to FROYO through KIES after 3 HOURS of waiting.
But my is stuck at boot screen & vibrates..
i had tried the recovery but no use.
please help me...
my phones also stuck at boot screen I cant even go to download mode it says POWER RESET or UNKNOWN UPLOAD MODE anyone else have these problems?
my phone does the same thing after I upgrade via kies, as well as flash samfirmware.com rom....stuck at boot screen and vibrate and black screen, but I'm still able to go to download mode...
I'm able to flash to one customer rom, but then not able to go into clockworkmod recovery anymore...always give me signture verification failed, even when I choose reboot to recovery in ROM Manager.
Is there anyone can help?
I experience the same. I took out the battery, go to Recovery mode.
Clear system and cache. No use, it does not solve the vibrating issue while Froyo running.
Then, I go to Recovery, format internal SD, clear system and cache.
Boot into Froyo, do a factory reset.
Froyo been running 24 hours. no big issues. when running multiple complex tasks, SGS vibrates for 1-2 times while lag (memory??), then back to normal operation.
When normal, it runs smooth and stable.
Will test for more hours.
Try flahing the new rom via Odin, that should sort it out. samfirmware has a guide on this and all the stock roms you could wish for, or theirs plenty of info on xda. Also remember it's always best to do a factory reset before flashing a new rom or updating, especially when going from 2.1 - 2.2. Use titanium or nandroid to backup before hand. I had similar problems with Kies, in the end I uninstalled it and just use odin, much more reliable

[Q] Phone black screen at boot, no buttons work for booting.

Hello there, nice people of these forums
Yesterday my phone randomly wouldn't boot anymore. I was on an ICS ROM I had just flashed the day before, so it wasn't that much of an issue though. I just thought I'd reflash a stock ROM via Odin and that all would be well again.
Here's what happened:
- I flashed with the PDA, Phone and CSC boxes checked (and yes, I've got the right files in the right places).
- I flashed with a .pit file I've used countless times before
- I flashed with the repartition box checked (also tried it a few times without, actually).
So after this, my phone reboots, and goes straight into ClockworkMod Recovery. When I try to install a zip from the SD card (another ROM) OR choose the "reboot system now", option, it doesn't matter which I choose, it just goes off (or boots into a black screen, I can't tell).
When I then try to manually reboot the phone by holding the power button, it doesn't do anything (I've reinserted the battery lots of times). Also, my 3-button-combo for the recovery menu isn't working. The only thing that's working is my download mode.
Would you please help me with this problem? Thanks!
EDIT: While I have no idea how I did it, I seem to have fixed my phone. It now boots again and everything works flawlessly. Thanks for your time anyway

Captivate gets stuck with black screen after booting. No response to anything

Phone: Samsung Captivate I-896, with AT&T stock Android 2.2 flashed to it. Rooted and unlocked.
Action: Deleted some *.odex files from Root/Data/App, following a guide to get around the "out of space" message while trying to install software. Cleared Delviks cache directory.
Problem: First restart after above actions(which didn't resolve the out of space message issue), phone shows start-up animations, gets stuck with black screen. Left like this overnight, nothing happens. Vibrates every 50 seconds or so. Respons to hardware Vol+ press with the home/back/menu backlight. Otherwise, no response to anything, black screen(backlight on). Does not receive phone calls. I do not know for sure if the action listed above is the one that caused this situation, but I assume so since it was the last action taken before the issue appeared.
Solutions attempted: Tried every possible permutation/combination of buttons/usb cable/etc/ restarts etc. listed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=858765&page=1, except Jig. The phone would not go into recovery or DL mode.
Question.
Am I correct in assuming that forcing the phone into recovery mode and reflashing a new system(or reflashing the old one) is the only way to get the phone to work again?
There is no way to "soft-reset" the phone, with all settings reverted back to stock, if it does not boot up completely?

Sounds pretty accurate. You'll have to get a jig to get in download mode, flash stock Odin KK4 to fix w/e happened during your testing.
Thanks Bwolf. I just tried ADB console on a different computer and it connects to the device just fine in spite of black screen. I guess I had one thing right, USB DEBUGGING enabled before this whole deal.
Question: is there any way I can restore the phone using the console without wiping everything?

Make a backup with ADB.
Once that's done, push download mode with it and get Odin KK4 (without bootloaders). You'll have to start from there to fix w/e went wrong.
You don't have to wipe your sd doing so but you will lose your apps and such. If you backed up your phone with your Play Store account, it will re-download your apps as you're done booting up.
To get back up where you were, grab Corn Kernel, flash it with Odin 1.87 and then follow the full instructions of the ROM you wanna use.
