Possible to install cwmzips via adb? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

my question is allready in the subject more or less
Is it possible to open zips made for cwm and install the files by adb?
And do I see where to put everything if I look insight the zipfolder?
I just want to learn a bit about all of these things but cant find any "compressed" information about what exactly cwm is doing for example.
So ill be happy about good links or explanations as well
Hope im in the right forum

Your help is appreciated but the way you are explaining isn't really good for new comers.. Or for anyone..
It's like you are writing notes on a fridge sticker you need to give proper details and step by step explanations. Also, very important, you need to proper format your thread.. Use bold, italic, underline.. quote.. you didn't even capitalize the proper words
There are already sticked threads with help. Sure they could be better but not like this.

There are different methods, some more simple, what version you have?
if you mean andriod version... I have 2.2.2
Look for UPK 3.6 and from there you can root with Blackjack.
After the root process you won`t lose anything but the warranty.
Okay, will do. Thanks heaps!
rooting your phone is dangerous but once you have done it, you will get a chance to try different roms. In short, Its fun!!!

Thanks! I appriciate the help. Other's might like the JE4 version as well for tinkering, so this could be a win win situation, if the file can be found.

I've tried that site guy's, they really are there, the files, but I have no income to create an account to get the files. Thank's for looking!. I'm wondering if any one has it on a phone and could get an adb backup created for us here to try. This site http://www.downloads.bombaymobiles.in/index.php?dir=Samsung%20Flash%20files/I897/ has alot of files for diffirent phones, i'm directing you to the i897 files and JE5 is in there if you want an idea what its like, But again looking for JE4, i've read that it's less buggy and I just really want to use it and mess around with it.

[Q] Lost root after flashing Android 4.3

Hi guys, I know you have tons of rules here and I tried my best to respect all of then by searching for a thread containing info on what in looking for but I couldn't find one. I rooted my phone a couple of years back and have been flashing various ROMs since. About a week ago however I flashed an unofficial android 4.3 ROM by CyanogenMod and after that once I discovered how buggy it was (as per the developer's warning) I decided to flash something else. However I couldn't access my recovery menu no matter what I tried and it looks like I've list root but I can't be sure of that. Ask the root apps aren't working and I got a toast from one of them saying you need root access to use this. Right now what I want is a way to either reroot or maybe there's a simpler way of solving this problem. If I could access the recover mode menu I could use the conventional way of rooting but right now I can't even di that. I'd really appreciate a solution if any of you could take the time out to give me one. Thanks so much and I really hope to hear from you.
I assume you flashed Chas' rom. If you could just read the op.... Chas gave everyone a soultion on a silver plate..
er.sorry

To be really honest I'm not sure whether it was his ROM or not since I got it from a YouTube instructional video. There was a direct download link. Do you think you could please do me a favor and point me in the right direction to the solution? Losing my mind here since it's so buggy

Go to Chas' Asylum thread in Android development, and use the search option. He gave the solution on 8th of August.

At me it worked.
And saw it posted in a 4.3 thread/post
You have to disable and re enable it in developers option in settings.
And then try root privilege using apps to check if it worked like type su in terminal

[GUIDE].. NOOB FRIENDLY..flashing boot Animation....

Hi U Hey guys so I was thinking that many people aka noobs don't even know how to change the Boot animation....... So we'll I can understand their feeling that there is such a really low amount of guides for this topic....... I was a noob like them once and have many things to help them.......
STEP 1:
Well first u would need a custom boot Animation of ur choice and with the same width and height for your device..... If u want one check this XDA page
https://www.google.co.in/url?sa=t&s...XmVXj6EAP_zGR96tA&sig2=XEvJfMYaWTWv8fO8SCZTCg
STEP 2
Then u would need root browser apk which is available in the play store.....
https://www.google.co.in/url?sa=t&s...EVfQGdejmbcfqwXfw&sig2=nn0P-rn2hT78Z4OvlC3KmA
STEP 3
Move the Boot animation zip file to system/media and place it der..(in root browser of course) and then hold ur finger der
STEP 4:
Scroll and select permission
STEP 5:
Do what is present on the first pic
Then reboot ur phone and see the magic happen... Isn't it easy well it can be made easier!!!!!!!
ANOTHER METHOD:
Download an app which is available in the play store called boot Animation which installs the Boot animation automatically....... Well here u go..... So more pics will help u so I will post them and guys this was my first guide will be taking out another one on how to make a boot Animation so pls help me if I have gone wrong..........
Pics for boot Animation app (2 and third pic)

I ain't a professional so pls guide me if I am wrong in this guide or stuff
I
.... I won't be responsible for bricked phones or dead SD cards or thermonuclear war
Just post ur questions below.........
Thanks for wanting to contribute, but there some issues with your guide. here are some tips
1. Make it instruction like. use steps (1,2,3..)
2. Give at least a link to the app if you are suggesting it
3. Maybe you could try getting the links from the images and show them below the steps, having to click attachments is not really handy
4. Don't use "dem" or "der" please. we no talk liek dis u no
If you want to know more about this subject, find this out for your own sake of curiousity
- How to preview a bootanimation that you just pushed without rebooting phone
- How to push it with adb

With Nexus 7 devices and possibly other devices, there is no need to put the bootanimation.zip into /system/media, you can just place it into /data/local, it will override the one in /system/media, it is the proper way to do it, no need to mount system r/w, etc.
K using root browser right cause how will u set the permission then?????
