Is there anyway to "refresh" the gallery 3d because I just downloaded images and they aren't showing up. And if I move from one folder to another the old folder sometimes shows up in the gallery but wont let me open/use the image in it since it isn't really there.
Thanks,
Tee Jay

Try using SDrescan from the market. It seems to help. Run it when you think something should be showing up in gallery3d.
Easiest way is to unmount then remount your SD card. Or reboot.

Good look guys.
I'll give them both a shot!

When I use ShootMe, I cannot view the image in my gallery until I reboot. Running CM6 nightly, but have noticed on other roms. Anyone know what its causing this?

The sd card needs to 'reload' to see the new pictures.
You can unmount and remount the sd card, then the gallery will update and see the new pics.
Or if you use Switch Pro widget, u can make a reload sd toggle and tap that, and it'll do it for you.
Much appreciated

Download sdrescan is another option too and usually faster than unmount/remount.
It seems that this phone, like many others, has a Gallery app that finds every damn picture imaginable on your device and tries to load a preview of it. Why can't there just be a certain folder where pictures are stored instead? Is this possible? I don't want my phone to find every picture on my SD card - this is for people who place pics on their phone unknowing of where they put it.
Thanks
With cm7 it loads those thumbnails in no time!

Oh, nice solution.. NOT
I found the solution. Create a file in the directory where the pic(s) exist called ".nomedia" and Android will not index/load the images after reboot.

x2, I was about to tell you about this
or just download the QuickPic app from the Market - it's free and allows you to move, share, hide and all kinds of other functions Gallery doesn't do.
i have a folder on the "desktop" of the phone,
i put all my games into it.
yesterday all the icons are gone, and i have the file, name of it,
it works also - but missing the icon of it
???
found it...best forum in the world!

I noticed this too and came to the forums for an answer, however I found my own answer.
I believe it's related to the apps with data stored on your SD card. When your phone boots up it takes awhile to check the SD card, by that time it's already checked for the icons for the programs in your games folder.
A quick solution is to hit the personalise button, then the first option marked Scene, change the scene, change it back and you get your icons back without having to drag them back out
Had the same problem, for me closing the folder and reopening it solved the problem, but it is a pain!

You can also reload your launcher as well. If your HTC Incredible S is stock, just kill HTC Sense. It will restart automatically.

Is there any way to restore my old Whatsapp conversations from my Evo 4G LTE onto my HTC One?
Supposedly the conversations are backed up somewhere because the app shows they have been but, upon registering Whatsapp on my new device there is no option to restore them.
Also bear in mind that I cannot insert the micro SD from my old phone onto the HTC One as the latter does not have a SD slot.
I also did not see an option to restore the conversations onto a PC..
Don't really like the "email conversation" option as it's very time consuming and not as practical.
Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
A little late but all stuff is stored on the sd card under the whatsapp folder. Just move from one sd location to another and it should see it and offer you the option to restore.

Ok... my phone is dead..ish... I dropped water on it... tried to dry it out and now the USB isn't recognized and the backlight on the screen is dead. I can still barely make out the white images on the phone. Here's my question, is there anyway to make a nandroid and get it off the phone (email, ftp, ect..) automatically? I can probably see enough to install an apk... but not set it up. I am connected to my wifi router so I can see the device that way... but that's it.
HELP!

Edit : nvm
Their are ways to make a nandroid back up without turning your phone off then using a file manager to find the file and upload it to Google drive or drop box.. But I don't know how much you are able to do

It's slightly more complicated than that. I can't see the background at all in TWRP because it's dark. I can barely make out the HTC clock on my home screen. I tried to get into ES file manager and turn on ftp but the settings screen is also too dark. Think of seeing your phone in direct sunlight on the lowest brightness. That's what my screen looks like.

What are you trying to save? If you are trying to save like pictures and stuff you might be able to use an app that allows you to adb over WiFi and you can pull stuff that way

Pictures... and I have an old nandroid saved on my internal memory.... but the thing I was afraid of with the ONE has proved to be a reality, no removable storage.... I start searching but can you remember the name of any of these ADB over WiFi programs?

Alright... I've got it working.... I was going through the ADB commands and I can't find anyway to list the contents of the sdcard. So say if I only wanted to pick and choose which folder to pull. In command prompt it is usually the "dir" command, is there an adb equivalent?

adb shell
cd /mnt/sdcard
ls
Note: ls = Ls but small letters ... It should show you the directory
Also I saw some one post that if you did
Adb pull /
That it would pull all contents on your phone
