How to root the Hero Sprint With Android 2.1 ?

Hi i updated to the new rom that is samy oficial from sprint Android 2.1 works great
Would andbody know how to root the phone now since its 2.1 ????????

Im starting to think maybe that "samy oficial" was supposed to be "semi official". I've been to the ghetto and way out in the country "Backwoods, W.V.", ya just need to merge the 2 to get the language.

Tried using flashrec yet? you can do it all from the phone... that is how I rooted from 1.5. all from my sdcard and flashrec. EASY too..

Unfortunately my good sir, you flashed much too early. Sprint patched the normal root method in the leaked update, so now the way we normally do it doesn't work. Damageless has released a rooted version of the leak, but it's just for the impatient people on here, so be warned. If you're running damageless 2.08.1 you'll have an update in DCUpdater within the next few days.
As to your situation, you can't go back. You've already flashed, so you'll be waiting until Damage and company find a way to root from the official 2.1, instead of upgrading from root to root. Keep your eyes peeled, and use that search bar.

He's talking about the Hero 2.1 leak from yesterday or two days before, somehow a 2.1 update for the Hero got leaked from Sprint, and it has the release keys and everything. Damageless poked around in it and deemed it legit, so our May 21st release date is looking very realistic now. He has a Hero, and he obviously flashed the leak. Little did he know that the leak fixed root, and he's gonna have to wait a long time.

How do you know he's talking about the Hero Leak? Maybe he really is talking about the Moment that was recently update...How do you even know he has a Hero to begin with?

Well for starters it's a hero forum so that would be a natural assumption. Second, if he flashes the moment rom to his hero he would be complaining about having a brick not lack of root. I'd guess there is a very tiny possibility he has a moment and posted on the wrong forum but that would be a stretchas the thread title does say hero.

You're posting in a Hero thread, and would the Moment software even work? I mean yeah people are stupid sometimes but I don't think he flashed a different phone's rom to his phone. Also, he said "samy oficial" which we have determined to mean "semi official", that would apply to Sprint's "semi official" HTC Hero 2.1 leak. Moment's update is fully official, Hero's update is semi as of right now.
I'm 99% sure he has a Hero, flashed the leaked Hero 2.1 ROM, and wants to know when 2.1 can be rooted. Unfortunately, he should've waited, because now he has to wait MUCH longer

It was always going to be May 21st. Because that's my birthday.

Couldn't you RUU to one of the 1.5 builds and then reroot?

From what I understand they need an official 2.2 with sense and then they can port it to other devices. As of now all sense ui phones are 2.1

ok thanks for the reply... I read somewhere in the last few days that there will be a 2.2 update for the desire pretty soon, so I guess this will be the trigger?

[Q] Root or not?

Hey guys,
I'm new here, but I was wondering if you could help me. My HTC Legend is still running on 2.1, and I really want froyo. I'm thinking of rooting my Legend, but I first wanted to know how hard it is to unroot my device (for the OTA from HTC) and which ROM I should pick, I'm thinking of the Cyanogen Azure but maybe you guys know a better one.

Yes go for Azure best choice.
Yes it's easy to unroot with goldcard.
Just look in the forum and u will find all u need within 3 pages for sure.

[ROM INQUIRY] Android Revolution HD

Hey guys,
I'm pretty experienced Android ROMs developer and want to ask, if you want me to cook Android Revolution HD series ROM for you? I do not own Incredible S but my ROMs are based always on stable official bases, they have no visual changes just confirmed tweaks and other stuff like su, busybox etc..
Here is my ROM for Desire HD - LINK.
I'm already downloading latest RUU but before I start to work on it I need to know if you are interested.
Sorry for posting this question in development forum, I hope it will be forgiven. If there will be positive reaction I will change first post and place here my ROM.

if we got more roms for our IS we have more possibilities to select the right one. its a shame that u wont customize the visual thing, like u said, but with a rom like yours, i am sure there will be a few devs how like to edit your rom visually xD that would be great !! xD

Apache14 was building kernels for my Desire HD / Inspire 4G ROMs. I haven't decide yet how it will working in this case

I'll drop him a line then. If I can finally get this thing to build you might be able to use that

[Q] Sense Roms for Alltel Hero?

Please Help
Since the HTC Hero was introduced to Sprint first it usually is based on Sprint.
But can someone please help. I'm trying to find a Sense Rom for the Hero with Alltel service so please help cuz my GF is gettin on my nerves saying that partial root made her phone run sluggish and ide like to overclock it so she'll be quiet. So if you posted a link that would be grand​

Everyone's phones run differently on different roms, but try out a couple of the recent Gingerbread roms if you can do without "sense", you'll gain a lot of functionality from the phone. Deck's rom, CM7, & Jaybob's have always run good for me on the Hero and there's a couple of others (Evervolv & OMFGB) that I never had a chance to try before I gave the Hero to my son.
***EDIT*** If sense is that important to you, Liquid Sense & NFX seem to be the most popular.

Just like Bierce22 said... you should be able to Flash Any CDMA Rom for the Hero!

If only there was a Ginger-Sense Rom like they have in the Eris forums :/
