Best NC case? - Nook Color Accessories

I'm looking for a case that can kinda prop itself up.
It could be like this or portrait

I also wouldn't like to blow 50 bucks on a case but I'm open to anything.

That looks good...I bought one at B&N... They have cases that just close like a book....I went ahead and bought one that has a flap with magnets and some extra pockets. I'm glad I did. the magnets hold the cover open when I'm reading...very helpful

There is one similar to what you have shown. It's $49 if I remember right.

Any chance you have a link to that case?

I don't, but it was in the store. I was amazed at how many (very high quality) cases they had. Easily 15 or 20 different ones. They ranged in price from 30-50 bucks.
All have a very nice attachment mechanism, where the nook clips in some plastic tabs.

I got this one and i love it. When opened you can fold it behind itself and relatch the magnet strap to hold it to the back. You can have the strap stretched out and leave it open a crack to have the NC stay upright in either portrait or landscape.
you can't see the strap but it's holding the flap there so it won't slide open.

Ack, I can't post the link as a new poster. Anyway, do a search on "Sullivan Easel Cover", that is the one I think. I don't want to pay $50 for it either.

I literally just got back from B&N and bought this case. It is fantastic!

I think the Sullivan Easel Case is the best if you want an easel, but like the ones that clasp with a magnet for maximum safety. I went with the Lautner Book Cover.

I myself love the Industrielle covers, got one for my Wifi Nook so when I preordered the Nook Color it was my first choice and I'm in no way dissapointed - the cover is very favoring to the NC and folds complete,y back, when I want to hike it up at an angle I just place something between the folded over cover fronts, works like a charm! The outside material is. Like a soft rubber while the inside is lined with a micro fiber lining with a hard plastic in between, very durable and the c,ips holding the NC in place are very durable and minute, the case blends very well with the hardware it protects yet doesn't add bulk and hardly any weight to it. Great purchase if you buy One, and one of the cheapest to boot at $30!
As for a case that will standon its own, there is a trifold case at B&N that is very similar to the Industrielle's and if I would have seen that first I would have bought It! It runs $50 but is very sleek. If I find a link I'll post it

Ditto here. Got the same one and it is nice. The book-fold ones are okay if you are just reading ebooks in portrait but this work better for landscape and it folds all the way back without having to hold it open with a finger.

Sullivan Easel Cover $49.95
No link but here's what you look for
Sullivan Easel Cover
Description
The magic of the Sullivan Easel Cover only begins with its luxuriously textured full-grain leather skin, soft gray faux suede lining, 3-point clip holder, and leather inner slide pocket. It also offers the ultimate in versatility. You can fold the flap back for standard reading, but a simple maneuver turns the case into an easel that secures with the elastic closure. Even better, you get a choice of two profiles: resting on one side, the easel presents a steeper interface best suited for reading; on the other, a lower angle creates a solid base for typing on your NOOKcolor's keyboard. A small recess has been engineered into the lining of the back panel to enhance the sound of the NOOKcolor's speaker.

jmcging - Do you have this one? If so, how heavy is it?
Thanks.

I have one of these cases for my original nook. Its a padded sleeve but looks really good and original considering that its just $14.
I mailed the seller and she said she can make custom ones for nook color which are slightly taller.

Is the Industrielle for the Nook Color the same as the one for the original Nook? How well does your NC fit in your old case?

The Nook Color can't fit into my Nook WIFI'S case, its a different mounting system - instead of the top and bottom slits that the original Nooks used with the clips in the old cases the new case uses a three pointclip mechanism where the right sides top and bottom corners slide into two clips and a clip in the middle of the left side secure it very firmly in place. The Nook color is also slightly larger than the original Nooks so there would be no way to use the old case for the new nook or use the new case for the old nooks. Other than size, clipping mechanism and the colors of the old and new cases they are very similar and form fit the nooks very well.

Here's pictures of both the Nook Colors Industrielle case compared to the Nook 3G/WIFI Industrielle case:

Where are the silicone glove cases? The items on this page still aren't in the B&N system if you try to view or add them to you cart.

Any other sources?

Bought the Sullivan horizontal easel cover and, man, it was way too heavy. Also, having the multiple fold situation is pain, especially when you're reclining and reading. I exchanged it for the Lautner - much lighter with magnetic clasp and pocket.

Personally prefer the case in the pic i have provided, simple and suits me definitely.
I debated with myself for a while before going with the tab closure. I like the simplicity of having no closure at all, and that it would fold flat when the unit is out of the case. My prior cell phone case didn't have a flap and I never had a problem with it (didn't fall out). In the end I thought about the times when I'll use the main unit and leave the keyboard in the case, like when I'm using the camera. Figured to be safe I better get the tab.
Delivery is scheduled for next week, so I'll get some pics up when I get it.
Received today. 300% better than the piece of crap cases from that guy on ebay (like many others on here, mine broke in 2 days of light use and I dont have a refund yet). This case came to me in the US from New Zealand in 11 days, they claim 10 days minimum.
This case is built like a tank. I would trust it to hold my weight, if it had to. The clip is stainless steel, with a thin strip of leather glued to the outside for decoration. That may need better glue, but its a minor problem. The clip itself is securely embedded into the case and has a lip just below the clip (under the leather) to prevent the clip from slipping off a belt. The rest of the case is thick leather with a felt(?) lining.
Even without the closure it should hold the unit tight to the 90-degree position. I got the tab closure and it lets me hit the volume slider to mute the phone when its ringing plus would let me keep wired headphones plugged in while the tab is closed, although I only use BT headphones. I think the full closure option would be too much unless you walk in the rain or run with it. When empty it folds almost flat against my body even with the tab closure closed. That closes with velcro.
I get my first full day with it on my belt tomorrow, but so far it gets an A. Once I get the pics up on a server Ill post them.
how bout some pics with ur phone nicely secure in ur spanking brand new case
Like I said in my last post, once I got the pics up somewhere I would post them. Here you go:
Sorry, no pics with the whole phone in there - its the chicken-and-the-egg dilema. My wife had our real camera last night, so I was using the one on the phone.
Oh, and before someone asks, yes that's a D-ring at the top of the clip. You can use it with a clip-on shoulder strap (the one they offer is too expensive) or slip the strap of a larger bag through it.
This case would seem to be 'THE SOLUTION' for all of us. I have the tried the cheap case with the post and belt clip. The clip that came with it was broken from the get-go and I found a good substitute. BUT, I have seen a number of posts saying the post has broken so I will junk this case. I had another case that had belt loops which would hold the x7501 but the leather just tore and it is in the waste basket also.
Piel Frama has made a case but it is even more expensive than this one, has no belt attachment and is very similar to the one that comes with the Advantage.
So, I have a question! I assume that the X7501 and the HTC case would not fit in the pouch of the Tough-as-nuts case? If not, do you think it would be adventageous if the case were made bigger to accomodate it? I am not comfortable holding this device without a case around it (old hands).
Brad Miter
The cheap ebay case I bought had both problems you mention - first the clip broke after 2 days, then the post came unglued inside the round piece of leather. I'm glad I noticed the glue problem - five minutes of walking around and the whole thing would have dropped to the floor. I pulled the post out of the round piece without much effort once the glue came undone.
Personally I do not like the method the original case, the cheap ebay case, and so many others use to hold the 2 parts of the Athena/Advantage in place. Those chunky plastic clips are just wear points as the 2 parts of the Athena get mashed together while you walk around. They should have built mounting slots/holes into the Athena's metal case to make car mounts and protective cases easier and safer. I also don't like the metal slab used to mount the keyboard because of its weight. Between the large plastic slab in the top of the case, the plastic clips, and the large metal slab in the bottom of the case, the original case (and many of the after-market solutions) is very heavy. The Tough-as-Nuts case is noticeably lighter in the hand even with its solid metal clip and D-ring. There's just so much metal and plastic in the original case.
I do like how much more protected the device is inside the original case while in use, and it keeps it from tipping over when you press on the screen. So I tried putting the whole thing into my new case, but there's not quite enough room. I think the thickness was OK, and the length would be fine (my closure strap is very long) but the width didn't have enough give to allow the Athena+case. I probably wouldn't have done that all the time but the option would have been nice if I knew I would be using it where it might get dropped or bumped.
My reaction now after several days on my hip: The new case feels much more secure than the cheapo ebay one. I always knew the Athena was there, usually pulling heavily on my belt in that other case. It also stuck out a good half-inch from my body so it had some leverage with that weight, too. The new case is snug against me, with just enough room on the clip that when I sit down it will tilt slightly and not get in the way. I truly forget its there now, sitting or walking around. I found it was not comfortable clipped all the way over the edge of my jeans, since the bottom edge of the clip sticks out a bit. My guess is that's to force the clip to stay closed as it lays against you. Unfortunately it digs into you when the clip is inside the pants, but very comfortable when kept on the belt. This case does not give you a window for the "subdisplay". However, the subdisplay is implemented very poorly on the Athena. The slightest bit out-of-alignment and the subdisplay turns off, as reported by several people on this forum and now me. So even with a window on the case its still mostly useless (which I found the few days I used that ebay case which does have a window). If you are looking for a case with a window, forget it. Since I use the Jabra BT8010 which has a display that deficiency is mostly a non-issue for me.
edit: And that red tag is probably going to get cut off some time soon, to me its annoying having this little red flag down there sticking out and saying "look at me".
Thanks for the additional feedback. I think I'll write Nutshell and see if they would consider making just a bit larger by say, 1/4" all dimensions. Do you think that would too much slop when not using the HTC case?
Brad
Probably. It goes in pretty easy right now, and slips right out if you tip it past horizontal. But if you get one of the closures it wont be an issue.

I now have a Nutshell on order. For an upcharge they will make it 1/4" wider and 1/4" deep so I should be able to leave the Advantage in the HTC case for safety when removed from the pouch. I'm also getting the Tab, Belt Clip and the Shoulder Strap. Hope it gets here before Christmas. I'll report back when I have it!

So far I love mine, I hope you do, too. I still forget its on me at times, although I doubt youll have those moments with the weight of both cases on your belt.

I ordered the shoulder strap too as I find it really too heavy when carried in a pants pocket.
Brad
I agree it feels unwieldy/heavy when its in a pocket, but on my belt on my hip its very comfortable.
How much extra was it for the extra .25 in on all sides?
$20. If it works it will be worth it.
Brad
I tested this case for Gear Diary. You can read the review and see pics here.
My only complaint relates the the Invisible Shield I also installed on the Advantage. Pulling it in and out of the case has lifted the film on the housing at some edges.
An update on this case. After several months of daily use, its holding up well. It has a few minor scuff marks on the front from brushing against hard chair arms, but nothing obvious unless you view it with light reflecting off the surface. I would expect the same or much worse from cheaper cases. Its still solid as a rock - the velcro is still normal and the belt clip won't move at all. It supports the unit so well that I frequently forget I'm carrying it. A purchase I'm happy with. Too bad they didn't supply a case like this in the original box.

Is there any case like the Apple iPad case for the Tab?

The Zenus cases (I have the Color Edge) are very thin on the sides, reasonably thin/flat on the back, but have a fair amount of padding on the front. I haven't seen the Apple one in person, so can't speak to the direct comparison. It does add some bulk, but will still fit in a coat pocket for me with the case on. I sometimes take it off at night when reading, but generally use my Tab throughout the day with it on, and the added heft isn't big, and only two tiny strips on the sides are visible over the face -- so no real bezel there. The added heft is in the cover/when closed.
Anyway, I've been very happy and in the "Nice Leather Case" thread, most who bought it seem very pleased. http://www.zenuscase.com/index.php?dispatch=categories.view&category_id=119

Similar to Apple iPad case
Apple’s iPad is becoming more and more popular with technology enthusiasts. Of course, if you have an iPad, you need something to put it in for protection and mobility. Lots of options are now on the market or coming soon. Some ipad cases are fashion-minded while other simply focus on functionality. Some of my friends bought an iPad leather case holder with keyboardwhich is a cool one and your iPad can be operated like a mini laptop, I just sort out one from espow.

Yes, I have had one of these on back-order for a while now from MobileFun here in the UK.
They however call it the KeyCase Faux Leather Case
Bookstyle Case original Samsung
Hello,
I'm using this original Samsung bookstyle Case for my Tab and it's pretty good.
Protects the edges, back is made of hard black plastic and frontcover is leather with a sort of short-haired fleece in it for screen protection.
And you can use it as as stand. The right upper and lower side of the case are coated with rubber, so it has a save stand.
You can find it on the Samsung website.

Looks nice. Two questions on this. First how stable is the case when used as a stand? Does it actually stay up or does it fall over easily. Second how does the front cover stay closed? Does it secure / stay shut in any manner or does it flop open easily?
Stand and Cover
Hello,
yes the stand is save. When I'm driving in my car, I can put it on the instrument panel and it doesen't come down until I'm driving fast around corners or do a hard stop. So not the best for navigation in car, but it works.
On a flat surface I didn't have any Problems with the stand. Even when you are writing on it, it won't fall on it's back.
The frontcover doesen't click in or has any other closing.
It's just the fitting between the 4 corners of the case, so it doesen't go away when its closed. Will take pictures tomorrow.
But when you turn it around the cover of the screen will open. Just like a book.
Im using the tab without a case at home but use the samsung executive d30 case everywhere else, its big, bulky and the stand is crap.
My ipad case shown in the first post is awesome by comparison, nice and stiff and very thin
Have you tried the silocone d30 one? It is still a bit bulkey rouund the sides tough

A couple of questions for you:-
1. How well does it stand up on it's own... is there any flextibility in that it may collapse or fall over?
2. Can you use it all the time in it's leather case?
At the moment I have both a Samsung Executive leather case and one of the gell cases with the stand already mentioned. The Executive case is horrendous ~ it's difficult to get the Tab In/Out, blocks the edges of the screen, continually falls over and already the closure on the back has come off.
The gel case on the other hand is bloody well good value ~ easy to hold, the stand actually works well but does not protect the front of the Tab in any form.
If this case you mention can handle the questions I have put forward I may get one myself.
Case stands up well. The magnetic clasp doubles up to hold the stand in place. Either upright for viewing or angled for typing.
I had the Samsung d30 case and took it back
I never need to remove the tab from this case, the screen has no leather over it, except when the case is closed of course.

I have this one, and got it from Amazon. Nice case.

What is the BEST case for the Galaxy Tab?

I just love the ipad case. It is so thin and works real well.
Is there a good case for the SGT that is similar to the ipad case. I prefer super thin and light.
I carry mine in a small messenger bag. So I just wanted something as low-profile as possible, but that would keep me protected at all times from scratches, etc.
I went with the following two, and I couldn't be happier. No matter what you do, get the back protected fast, as it will get scratched up fast.
Case/Sleeve
Screen Protector
I'm using the original samsung pda model case one. Looks great, feels great and still fit on my back pocket.
I use the SGP Argos book-type case.
Not only is it solid as they come, but its also excellent protection - my tab dropped from the roof of a SUV and neither the case nor the tab were damaged in any way.
Also, theres no need for a screen protector once you have a case like this, unless youre planning on using the thing with sand-covered fingers...
im using capdase soft jacket 2, it fits precisely, slim(2mm thick but decend material) and stand holder is removable when u dont need desk stand.
but the only thing softjacket cannot protect is the screen, but hey gorrila glass+antiglare screen protector will do
i used a notebook like slide in case but when i was reading ebook that flappy cover is quite annoying... but its just me ...

erlz,
That is exactly the kind of case I've been looking for. A nice slim hard back shell with a kickstand.
A couple of questions for you, I you don't mind. How easily does the kickstand part come on/off? Is it pretty secure once it's in place?
Also where did you purchase yours? Amazon only lists one obscure seller when I searched the case there.
Thanks again!
i'm using a Speck hard case/shell, The edge is matte black rubber and the back panel is plastic with a camouflage printed fabric streched over it. it makes the tab a bit thicker, especially around the edge, but its still nice to hold, and i like that the edge of it is raised a bit in front so you can place the tab face down on a table and the screen wont touch the surface. Great fit, buttons/ports are accessible. using a matte screen protector as well, and i just stuff it in my bag. No scratches or dings so far.
The samsung tab case is a disgrace, and so badly designed i have had to buy a replacement.
Why?
the compartment for holding the tab secure obscures the screen and is so thick and raised from the unit, it is actually difficult to use the hard keys and any function close to the screen edges.
The stand mechanism is awkward to use and generally leaves the unit unstable.
The flap to retain the tab is pathetic so the unit constantly moves and if used in conjunction with the stand, the tab actually slips out.
Rubbish.
Ipurchase some cheap case off ebay, but went for one that uses a formed plastic shell to hold the unit. Not only is this more secure, but also leaves screen completely free.
It also stands better
and because its thinner materials, the tab is a pleasure to use again.

i'm using a Speck hard case/shell, The edge is matte black rubber and the back panel is plastic with a camouflage printed fabric streched over it. it makes the tab a bit thicker, especially around the edge, but its still nice to hold, and i like that the edge of it is raised a bit in front so you can place the tab face down on a table and the screen wont touch the surface. Great fit, buttons/ports are accessible. using a matte screen protector as well, and i just stuff it in my bag. No scratches or dings so far.

Currently using casemate barely there case. Its good but the fit isn't tight enough. I'm just picky. I ordered the capdase soft jacket. Luckily it was on sale for 19.99 at my local computer store.
Been using a Zenus case on the tab and have to say it's the best made and best fitting case I've ever used on any device. Very high quality materials. Only gotcha is that the magnetic clasp is so strong that it'll affect apps that use a compass, but not found that a problem in day to day use. It also took a few weeks to get here from South Korea. Some pics taken of it just now using my nexus 1 .

As with all samsung devices. I use a screen protector and cheap silicon sleeve combo. Nit as pretty as stock cases but very protective. My mp3 is still as good as new after 3 years.
I tried loads of cases, zenus, belkin leather book case, belkin silicone case, unbrand silicone case, samsung sleeve, piquadro sleeve.
But the best one is the Targus one: http://www.targus.com/uk/product_details.asp?sku=THZ040EU
Only issue is that the case miss the camera hole, but inserting and exerting the tab from the case is super fast, while when inserted the tablet remains really secured.
The case is THICK, and really solid, i think it will protect the Tab from every kind of falls.
The stand is firm and as the front cover is very rigid it can be used also on uneven or soft surfaces i.e. your legs while in the couch, or your chest while in bed (pro tip: use a bluetooth mouse under the covers so your entire body will remain warm )
When the front flap is completely bent over the back and secured with the elastic band it is barely noticeable, not like the zenus one that is a pain in the arse; and also you can insert your hand in the space between the front and back cover to effortlessly keep the Tab.
The materials are top notch, great black leather for the extern and soft suede for the intern.
Do yourself a favor and buy this case
P.S. i don't work for Targus

Is there a good case for the SGT that is similar to the ipad case. I prefer super thin and light.

Cheap and cheerful silicone case off ebay + screen protector ftw ! Easy to hold and slip into most jacket pockets.Found I couldn't type as fast as some of the bulkier alternatives.

Belkin Snap Folio Case

After cracking the screen on my Note 2 with a very short less than 2 foot drop I decided I needed to upgrade the protection on my phone. I had a Cruzerlite on there and I thought that was about as good as you could get until you started getting into the big bulky dual and triple layer cases. After looking over my options I picked up the Belkin Snap Folio case at a Verizon store today. Lots of things I like about it and a couple of things I don't. I wasn't sure I would like a folio style case as I think the cover would be a PITA. After a whole day I'm getting used too it, not saying I'm loving the flip open style case but it is growing on me. It does add some thickness to the phone, not as bad as a Defender or the like but more so that my TPU case. It is a little more difficult to pull out of my bluejeans (Levis slim cut) pocket because of the size, the soft leather body which is grippier, and the snap tab which will grab the edge of the pocket. I don''t know if thi will go away with some use but the snap closure curls up when it is used as a stand and obstructs the phone. Hopefully this will go away as I work and break in the leather. There is an indention for the home button on the cover so it lessens the chance of accidental presses waking the device. The leather is soft and the case has a good high quality feel too it. Although it does feel like a quality product don't confuse that for the feel of a premium product you will get some some of the more expensive leather cases available on the market.

There is a hard rubberized plastic shell that is fused to the inside of the leather folio case. I like this design because of the way all 4 corners are protected. The thick still leather body also adds quite a bit of protection and will help absorb the energy of a fall. I also like the security of the cover protecting the glass during a fall. My wife broke her GSII when it fell and hit a pebble sticking up out of the grass. The fit is perfect and all ports like up exactly. With the case closed you have access to the power button, USB port, and headset port. The headset port looks like it is partially blocked but that isn't the case. It is unobstructed and you will have no problems fitting any headphones. My Westones which usually have a hard time fitting into any case unmodified have no problems with this case.
Nice write-up... thx for posting. I've considered a folio case, but have one huge concern. Does the front cover easily fold all the way around to the back (so it's flat on back cover) to allow access to the volume rockers? I frequently use my Note2 in landscape mode (games, landscape typing, etc) and am curious if this case folds all the way back so phone can be held in landscape mode and access volume keys. Thx
Good review.
I am also interested to know if you can bend it all the way back.
DoctorQMM, you can with the official flip case serie and they are very durable. I see absolutely no sign of wear to the fold on mine after two intense moths of use! One word of warning however. The inside of the white one gets very dirty.
Zero problem folding all the way back on itself. I use it that way the majority of the time
Folded back on itself.
A bit fugly for my taste, but it appears to be quite functional.
I prefer vertical flips as it seems more natural (to me) to let the cover fall and talk. With side flips you have to bend them for sure. As this one has a speaker cutout I guess you can always close it after the call is initiated, and then hang up with the power button.
Two major flaws tho... once again they didn't bother to add a cutout for the notification light, meaning that if the phone is in the desk and closed, you will never see events. And they also didn't bother to cut for the volume rocker on the left side. I'm starting to think that if I want a proper case I have to learn some leathersmith skills and buy some equipment. Maybe create a BeoCase business. /heads to kickstarter.com
I have one of these cases. Highly recommend!
This is my signature....
I'm starting to think that these cheap tpu cases are not good for even small drops. I wonder if it would be appropriate to start a thread on which cases can actually survive a drop and which cases do not. Doesn't matter if it's a $2 ebay case or a $60 defender.
Not a big fan of these Folio cases because they expose too much of the top and/or bottom.
Does the flap that keeps the cover down become annoying while trying to use the phone?

Don't notice it normally. Now that I have use it a little it sits flatter when using the stand feature so it isn't that bad any more and doesn't get in the way.

I mentioned that my screen cracked with a TPU case in the OP, which probably prompted that post.
Sorry to bump an old thread but I'm wonder how the inner case is affixed to the leather outer. Is it just glued? I like this case but am concerned the inner will eventually come apart from the outer.
Thanks

Elago G6 Leather Flip - Help Me Choose a Color

Normally I am quite decisive when it comes to style but on this one I'm stuck.
This is an amazing looking high quality case that provides a flip cover along with corner drop protection. I am trying to decide between the orange and white vs the black on black. My phone is white. (They also have blue and white but I don't care for that personally).
My initial preference is the orange because it is cool and different. But as a professional, I don't want to look like I'm carrying my kid's phone so I think maybe black on black is the call. Hard to decide. Here they are. What do you think?

** Looks like this also comes with a free screen protector. Awesome deal for $29.99. I'm really leaning orange because it's different. I've always had black cases. The grain on the orange is really nice.
** I currently own the Samsung OEM flip case which I like very much but the lack of corner protection is making me very paranoid.
That's a really nice flip case... looks like it also comes in a navy blue w/ white: http://www.casefanatic.com/samsung-...ago-g6-leather-flip-galaxy-note-2-n7100-case/

The Tridea case is very similar and same price on Amazon. Advantages of the Tridea are the card holder on the inside of the flap and the leather on the back is recessed into the plastic case, not just tacked on top (extra thickness).
I also like the contrasting inside color of the Tridea.

I've read in a number of reviews on the Tridea that the flip cover hinge is too long so the cover doesn't always remain in place. Also, it appears that on the Tridea case they have for some reason left the top right hand corner with no corner protection at all - odd choice. As for holding cards, I would never put cards in my phone as I always have my wallet with me.
Here's what one reviewer said about it:
I love the material and would love to keep it. But after inserting the phone in the plastic case (back cover) which was actually a perfect fit, the problem was the cover... the cover needs to be held by hand to cover the screen evenly. The left side flap joining the back and front was way too long. Thus it was not a tight fit and if you try to make it a tight fit (but pressing the left side flap) the cover goes out of the screen towards to the right. The other flip cover that I own have a very nice fit. I wished this one too as I would want to keep this as I like the material and color very much.

That reviewer said "the cover itself is not strong enough, faux leather was slightly bent and peeling out of box for me..." In the other reviews I've read online no one else mentioned anything like this. Elago is a well established and regarded brand. I would be quite surprised if they put out some pure crap on this one. As he mentions, his may have just been a lemon - who knows - again no other reviewers I read mentioned this. He also mentioned a lack of indent for the home button but fails to mention the case comes with a screen protector which would render such an indent unnecessary, at least with this deal.
Oh well, I have found Amazon returns to be excellent so I may take the plunge on the Orange one.
Ordered the orange one. Not that many reviews for the Note 2 version yet but lots for the SIII and they seem to love it.
Will post a review once I receive it.

Here's an Amazon Review from someone who just bought this case:
Because there were only two short reviews when I purchased mine, I was pretty skeptical that the reviews might not have been objective, but these are my honest feelings.
First, you have to want a "flip case". They are certainly a tad bit more inconvenient than non-flip cases, and this case does not have a hole cut out for the volume on the left hand side (which I am glad that it doesn't, because it would degrade the looks of the case). That being said, that's the only minor thing that I can find to say negative about the case.
The case actually came before I was able to get my Note 2, so I took it into the store when I picked up my phone. The Verison salesman who sells bunches of cases mentioned more than once that he REALLY liked my case, and that he agreed that it was much better than the Verison case.
The fit is PERFECT.
The feel is WONDERFUL.
And the overall look is definetly an strong upgrade to the phone. Very Elegant.
It doesn't have "Verizon" stamped all over it, or for that fact any other obnoxious writing. So many of the cases out there look like they are targeting the younger crowd, but not this one. Finally, there is a great case for the professional, instead of someone who goes to work on a skateboard. The looks of this case are very conservative, it feels solid in the hand and it just reeks of quality.
That's about all I can say. If I run into a negative, I will definitely post a revision of my first impression (after 3 days), but I don't think that's going to happen.
It's REALLY nice.

Doh!. I had one, but the back started peeling off. Fit was perfect. I returned it and ordered another one, but this one has the issue with the side being too long. It flops around everywhere! Well, may return and try the Elago. Let us know your thoughts on it.
Got the orange and white Elago. Quality is good but the orange is really a light orange and not the tanned leather look you see in the pictures. Returning it.
Have decided to just stick with my SAMSUNG flip case and use a lanyard fed through the speaker hole in the back to prevent against accidental drops.
Actually a nice solution.
