So hey that's cool a "Here are the similar threads we found:" function!
Anyway, I'm in the middle of calibrating my battery after wiping the stats - following TheImpaler's instructions (charge to 100%, reboot into recovery, wipe stats, boot and then unplug.)
I'm in my first unplug session right now, but wonder if I install SetCpu again, will it mess up the calibration since it's at 50% right now? Since it would be OCed for only the remaining battery life and not the first half.....
Crap I thought this was posted into Q/A!

Hi all,
Few days ago i've received a new battery for my nexus.
I'm not sure now it was a good idea, but i've reset battery stats (by recovery) and proceed to a bump charge, then reset stats again.
I've done it twice because the first time, charge process jump from 55% to 22% and was stuck at this value. (bump charge and reset)
Now, my battery life is quite good (around 20 hours) but battery indicator is crazy.
Just after being unpluged, its drains quickly to 27%, stuck at this value for a while, then drains again to 2% and do the same.
What can be done ?
Wipe and reinstall cm ?
Thanks !
wrong thread to post to mate...
but anyways try reinstalling ROM and using battery calibrator to calibrate battery if your new battery allows it...
So I bought a brand new battery off ebay, wiped the battery stats and everything else on the phone and I installed a new ROM.
I followed Cyanogen's Wiki battery wipe procedure.
My problem is that when I get to the last step the battery doesn't seem to recharge to 100% even when left overnight; but if I reboot it it will go to 99.9% then 100%
Is this normal for a new battery?
i think the proper way to charge a new battery is to keep the device off and let it fully charge, than turn it on..? maybe.. im not 100% sure lol

dont know if anyone had that issue but i did too. best way is charge the phone to 100%, leave it plugged still boot to recovery, wipe stats, reboot, let it sit for a couple of minutes then you can unplug. or download this app Battery Calibration and when your phone is fully charged, just open the app, calibrate the battery, unplug and go
ps the G1's battery sucks monkey balls, but if you find a stable and decent rom/kernal, itll last you a whole work day with minimum usage, and having data off
a few days ago i flashed stock jvs. and applied cf root.
now i'm facing some weird things. battery lasts only like 12h. and when i go to battery stats in "about phone" the "on battery" time says things like 1min, but the longer the phone is on, it gets longer, like 2h ...
today i tried to fully load it and wipe battery stats.
didn't work,
now i've applied semaphore. and still shows weird things. and it doesn't seem as if the battery would last longer.
didn't find a thread with this problem, only the "official" battery bug, when the percentage changes within an hour about 20% a higher...
maybe so knows?
When you say wipe battery stats, did you do the entire battery calibration procedure? I find it's most effective to wipe and charge phone overnight while it's off (Like the first charge you do when you first get the phone)
i did the calibration like it is said in another thread:
fully load battery,
go to recovery, let it plugged in for further 5-10min
unplug,
wipe battery stats
reboot and let the battery be drained until it turns off automaticly.
but still confusing...
never had this befor, on stock 2.3.4 and cfroot, normal information like 2d 3h ... etc.
hello
i just wanna ask something about my battery life on my x8...here's how it goes first i fully charge my battery up to 100% until it says on status battery full...then i unplugged it..after it i texted for a few minutes...and i check the status of my battery and it says: 28 mins 23s on battery..my battery is on 96%..is this normal.? or somethings draining my battery,?
i use minicm7 2.2
this is normal since battery is heating itself while charging, and when it cools down it shows less percentage of itself... to maximaze your current battery life, calibrate the battery:
1. charge it to 100% no more no less
2. leave the charger PLUGGED IN, and reboot to CWM
3. there you should find somewhere under options or advanced "wipe battery stats", and you press that
4. reboot your device and when it starts up it will show about 91%, charge it to 100% and you have your battery calibrated
NOTE: the charger is always plugged in
ok thanks i'll try it... one question should i drain the battery before calibrating it.?..as in zero percent??

Yes , that is recommended.
Also , one advice from me.
Even after calibration , whenever your phone says 100% charged , reboot it while the charger is plugged. You will get the exact battery charge after reboot.
Do it every time your recharge your phone.
Then stop rebooting when you get a 99% or 100% after a fresh reboot. Trust me , it helps.
ok thanks for the advice i'll try that too...
it is normal dude ....mine is giving 1day on heavy use
use zepplinrox's supercharge script...it really made a CONSIDERABLE change to m battery usage time
I have one question: "Why my battery is giving 6-8h. My battery 2 days ago giving 24 and more hour." Sorry for my English, but i am from Poland
what happened 2 days ago? did you install new ROM?
The OP might not have needed to install a new ROM, just an APP or maybe just a combination of APPs running. My phone sometimes canes the battery in a couple of hours from 50% to nothing for no apparent reason. On both stock and custom (actually better battery life on custom) it lasts about a day but sometimes about 6 hours! Not sure what is going on as this happened on both the stock 1.6, 2.1 and the custom 2.3.4!
Hey guys, i just wanted to know if anyone is getting this issue. After installing paranoid android V.03 im having this huge battery drain. Almost 10% battery loss every 40 minutes even with Mobile Data and WiFi off. I should say i've flashed this rom over a stock gb. There is no modifications and the kernel used is the same that comes with that rom.
look for BetterBatteryStats and CPU Spy, download it. Check in CPU spy if ur phone is going into deep sleep, If not, put it in airplane mode, reboot and turn airplane mode off, if still not going in Deep Sleep, open BetterBatteryStats check the wakelocks and come back here.
First day on v0.3 I had the same problem. But it was really interesting when I figured out why the battery drain was so fast.
Look at your battery status if there is any drops like 3-5% which was happened immediately in a second. If yes your system is rebooting sometimes and that makes your battery drained. I had 1 or 2 reboots every hour on the first day.
If you didnt wipe dalvik cache and wipe cache after flashing the update may be that is the problem.
i did wipe the device. I have not notice any reboots . I'll fully charge it and check the battery life again. I've notice a fast battery drain even when i'm using it to text only. Like it's 80% one moment and when i look back at it it's like 78% Out of nowhere ( and as i said no data or WiFi).
Edit: almost forgot to mention. Just checked the cpu spy app and it does go into deep sleep(it shows an 8hour record in that state).

If you flash a rom with less than full battery it will take a few days/restarts/charging cycles for the battery stats to reconfigure correctly. This is the case with all roms, stock or otherwise.
If it persists after that, better battery stats should help identify what program is swallowing all the juice.
PS. I'm on same rom and kernel and have excellent battery life so it should resolve itself after a couple of charges.

Well.. i've been using it as always, and still feeling like it's going down too fast. When i flashed the rom , i did it with full battery. Anyways, i'll keep using it for a few days more and see if it changes. i've installed betterbattery stats and CPUspy as you guys recommended, so i'll keep an eye on it. Thanks for the replies, i'll let you know guys any changes :good:
+1
ihave this problem with this rom battery drain
WTF ??!!!
