are there any games similar to Scorched Earth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scorched_Earth_(video_game)) for android??
I remember getting hella lot of fun back in 90s with it

Haha, man I'd love this too, I remember networking all our computers to play multiplayer in school... the nostalgia factor alone would make it worth 99 cents to me!

Did you even try to actually find it yourself? Because if you search "Scorched Earth" in the Market, Armored Strike is the first result....

God I wish there was a proper port with networked multiplayer

Barrage

There's a page for a port at sourceforge but it appears to be dead and the files are gone. Too bad, the apps out there are OK but even the paid versions don't match the original. I wasted so much time on that game as a kid, I'd love to do it again.

[Q] Simple but very addictive games (thoughts)

Okay xda, need your help here. Situation is this. For an IT assignment, we are required to develop a game that is simple but addictive. No thanks to my sad imagination, I have no clue as to what to make. This is where you come in. Just post up what you think is a simple but addictive game. Here's the catch, it needs to be simple enough to complete in roughly 4-5 weeks worth of lessons, relatively trouble free to code in Pascal (sad I know, not my language of choice), and it has to be something that suits males and females aged 14-15. To aid in what I'm looking for, the simplicity of maybe Space Invader, Brick Breaker or maybe even something like Doodle Jump. Just post up what you think might be a fun game to play that's addictive. Love to see what people think.

formula one game where u can switch lanes and the others commin rite at ya ... maybe too simple but u can always spice it up with powerups , score and fuel consumption

not having done serious coding in it (only when at college we had maybe 1 hour on it - go figure)
racing idea is a good one, not sure how easy it would be, but with the option to have different vehicles/colours could be an option (just to expand on souljaboy)
but in my opinion - can never go wrong with tower defence!
As its for 14-15 yr olds, do it with STIs and condoms as the towers

yeah maybe a doodle jump like game or there this game i realy like where theres a round track and you click (touch screen) and it will go left slightly and the car is constantly getting faster and faster and you have to see how far you can get without touching the sides or a fly the copter like game

that would need an internet procotol and all ... im fairly sure it would be a pita in pascal if even possible

Thanks for all the replies. There are some really good ideas coming through here. I just need to keep in mind that this has to be quite simple so physics engines are probably out of the question. Let alone not having access to them. If it helps, I'm looking for something that you would play in class when you are extremely bored and will quickly catch a trend. There are some really good suggestions. Thanks a lot.

I just thought of one that might be okay. What do you guys think about the world's most addictive game on the iphone? The one that has the red cube in the middle and you have to dodge the blue cubes that bounce off the walls.

Problem is that one is 3D. Delphi can't work with 3D because of how crappy it is. haha. I think I may do that box one I was talking about earlier.

One song can easily do it for me, but like you, and a lot of people i guess, it's a collection of songs that does it best. I turned my HTC Touch on about a month ago, and it hadn't been used since 2008, so i had a good laugh when i checked the music and videos on the SD

When i'm on a listening session i'm usually in the mood for a particular genre, so i tend to keep the playlist to that for the duration. So i guess the mood comes first and then the music.
I will however reflect and dwell on the memories invoked by particular songs as they come on, and i'll either feel melancholy or jubilant accordingly! (My listening sessions are a rollercoaster ride)

TV links, google it they get all the latest episodes the same night they air usually depending where you live before they air
Plus u can make a watchlist of all your favorite shows and it will make a nice weekly schedule for you and even notify u a day after it airs to remind you via email

or you could use eztv. This particular show gets done by the DVR though cause it was an easy solution.

It's his wife, family, etc. He thinks that they just have a disease and will eventually be cured so they shouldn't be killed 'cause they're just "sick".

Well that's very hopeful considering the body still goes threw rigimortis. Not to mention the task of restoring the soul, which isn't possible at the moment.
So the vet would have to cure decaying organs and restore the human concsciousness (soul). Well stem cells and nanobots may repair organs. Our understanding of quantom physcis regarding the human brain is limited
so no herschel is dumb if he thinks that.

I thought of that too. But before that world comes to fruition, we would have had to solve the "energy crisis", which is going to take a reasonable amount if time, hence allowing a time span which enables an improvement in security systems.
