[Q] System Volume problem Help! - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Galaxy S I9000 system volume decreases every time my phone restarts. It just goes to 0%. I don't know why. I'm now using XWJPA firmware. My guess is that some apps in my phone does it, turning off the system volume automatically, and it happens only in Froyo 2.2 However, is anyone here knows this issue, please give me a solution to it..
Thanks a Lot guys ^_^

[Q] JPM/JPK *vibrates* once in awhile during sleep?!!

As far as I'm concerned, I notice JPM/JPK Roms (I have applied tayutama 1.0.0 and voodoo kernel pre6) has this VIBRATE issue when the phone goes into sleep.
In details:
When the screen goes off (black), in a few seconds, the phone will have a slight vibrate.
If you turn on the screen and play around with it and let it sleep again (screen goes off), in few seconds it will still vibrate again!!
Not only a few seconds after phone sleep it will vibrate, I notice the phone will vibrate on its own (phone is sleep) once in awhile in no specific duration
Anybody experiencing this can let me know what causes it? I do not know whether stock ROMs have this problem coz I always flash another ROM (mostly to deodex) over my stock ROM with either lagfix or voodoo kernel applied right after
I would appreciate if we investigate it in details if this issue is confirmed
have same problem with jp6 firmware ,have posted in jp6 firmware topic about it
Oh, I think this issue is serious enough to have a thread on its own
Anyway do we have a solution/workaround for it so far? Would love to solve this 'bug' as it's kinda annoying at times...
Yep, I get that too, on JP6 .. and all in all.. I am really pissed right now, Voodoo pre6 F***ed up my radio connection .. it detects networks in 3 4 minutes, it connects and then it disconnects in a matter of seconds,...,,, mothaxxxxx
Same problem here with JPM. Im using sztupy 0.1 experimenatal rom, but after reading your posts it seems clear that its not a problem of his room
It's dreaming leave it alone.
Wifes phone refused to send text early this evening, turned phone off, phone has failed to restart since, gets stuck at start up logo and just keeps randomly vibrating.
The phone is running froyo jp6 on voda network
Usually a random vibrate means a process is crashing or has a serious error. Use the alogcat or adb logcat to look at the log immediately after this happens, or if there's nothing there look in the kernel log with "adb shell dmesg".
Got phone to boot but everything is gone, with out a factory reset even external sd card has been blanked out . Missus is well pi#$ed off
Time to go buy her that Iphone 4 shes always wanted Or get used to sleeping in dog house. Your call

[Q] 2 small questions after Froyo+Pre6 Voodoo

Hi,
I just flashed Froyo, and applied Voodoo over it yesterday, and I have to minor questions, i can't explain:
1: whenever I restart the phone, I got a flash of a colored snowy screen(like in TV with no signal, just colored!) for half a second or so. Is it due the Vooodoo color change, or my display is dieing?
2: Whenever I have a program force closing, the phone vibrates once, and than again 3 times quickly. It did the same thing when I bricked my phone, and it stuck after S logo. What could it be?
Is it some new Froyo feature telling me, that the program is not responding?
Thanks for the answers!
Edit: Froyo is JPM.
So it seems it's just my phone.
I found somebody else also having the screen flashing for a moment on boot. That's 2 people!
But no vibrate problems to anybody else?

[Q] Phone freeze during shutdown?

Hello
I am having trouble shutting down my phone from time to time.
I select to shutdown and then the 'shutting down' message appears for some time and then the screen goes black. But afterwards when I try to turn my phone on nothing happens. I need to remove the battery before I can turn my phone on.
Does anyone else have or had had this similair problem, and maybe a solution for it?
Thanks in advance.
Bump
Bump.
No one else having this issue?
I havn't had the issue myself nor have I read about anybody else but you having it. Have you rooted and have you installed a custom rom?
If it is all stock it does sound like yours might have something more wrong with it other than the usual shutdowns, reboots and freezes that is known on this device.
Yes, my phone is rooted, CM7-nightlies.56, vorkKernel-20110622 OC'ed to 1400mhz, 606 ril and 606 baseband. If nobody else is experiencing this problem I might have to try the stock rom for a period to compare...
But thanks for the reply.

Screen Turns off and wont come back

OK, so im fairly new to this game.
I have has my I9000 for about a year, and have always sufferer from the problem of my phone 'sleeping' it can be find for days, and then randomly when i pick it up, or the phone rings, the screen wont turn on. the only way around is to pull the battery out... not good when its ringing!
i did the general factory reset, and upgraded via Kies, but I still had the same problem..
So today i downloaded and flashed the stock version of Gingerbread 2.3.6 hopeing to cure it by remving the Orange customer versions..
This obviously reset the whole thing, and even with Samsungs stock Version and zero apps, it STILL does that same...
Anyone else have this sort of problem? i have searched and found similar problems, but most indicate its on phone boot up.. so not sure if its the same.
If problem remains after flashing a new ROM via Odin, then it doesn't look like a software problem :/ Maybe you should go to service.
Its definitely a hardware problem. But you could try increasing the voltages for the lower CPU frequencies. You will need a custom kernel and then use voltage control from the market.
