how to overlap widgets - Android Themes

Anyone here can guide me how to overlap those widgets in the desktop? i tried to overlap them but it still sticks with the grid.. im using ADW (CyanogenMOD 6.1.0 RC2)
I want to make a new theme just you guys
i already read [HOW-TO]Resize your widgets using LPP | Updated 01 Dec still i have the same results.. i already increase my rows and columns to 8x8 still no effect...

bump? any here?

With launcher pro plus, If you place a widget then pick it up and drop it back where it was to resize it you should be able to drag the resize corner over another widget.

aahh so that's only possible with Launcher Pro?

Yeah, its exploiting how LPP does widget resizing.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App

aww.. i think i need to change to LPP and uninstall ADW hehehe!

Any other way?
How about GO Launcher? Is there any other way to achieve the same effect? I really like GO Launcher and don't wanna switch.. there's gotta be a way.

You can do this in ADW Ex but I'm not sure about the free version. In settings there's an option to "overlap widgets"

I was able to do a bit of overlapping (not so much) using ADWlauncherEX, using Zoom custom widgets. The upper part of this screenshot is actually 6 zoom widgets..

[Q] How to: get Shortcut icons matching dock icon size?

Hey,
I just came across this pic of some upcoming Acer phone:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And I really like the bottom half of this theme/launcher. I thought about creating basically the same thing using Launcher Pro or ADW Launcher (sans the mid-screen status bar of course), wouldn't matter if it was 4 or 5 icons per row. I thought of using the dock for the bottom row, and varying sets of shortcuts as the upper row, this way you get a pretty flexible and variable setup using scrolling docks in LP and all that. I mean, it's not a new idea and I've been using similar setups all along - but the pic showed me how much nicer it'd look with matching icon size.
The thing is, unless I'm mistaken there is no way to make dock icons the same size as homescreen shortcuts using either one of those launchers, or is there? I'd really rather avoid going back to TW on my Galaxy S, I'd hate losing scrollable widgets and more rows per homescreen and all that jazz.
I've just resized the icons on the home screen using gimp. works like a charm...
Huh, now there's an idea I'll try that tomorrow morning. Thanks

[Q] Custom Dock Bar notifications?

I am currently using ADWLauncher with the main dock bar off(extended desktop) and using the Hidden Dockbar. I was wondering if an app exists that lets you create custom notifications for your dock bar. I searched all through ADW but did not see an option for it.
I would love to be able to have a custom notification font size/type.
Thanks in advance.
(ex: If I have two SMS messages a number 2 will show in the column/row corner above text messages.)

There's an app in the market ADWNotifier. I've been using it for a while and it works great. I think you have to have EX version of Launcher, but I believe the Notifier is free.
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.adw.launcher.notifications&feature=search_result
Thanks for the quick reply. I tried that app out and it does work great. Only thing is they use the bubble and only bubble. Are there any other apps that are more customizable?
If not ill stick with ADW Notifier.
Hi!
If I remember correctly, there only is the bubble, but you can customize it's color and size.
hmm, I know I have seen people them in custom themes or whatnot. I guess the next question is how do i replace it manually?

[Q] Notification Counter in ADW Launcher

It doesn't work.
I read somewhere on this forum that ADW doesn't support it. Is that true? I didn't believe it because in the settings, we have options for Notification Counters.
Can someone help me? Here's the screenshot. You can see there is a new message but there is no notification.

It's working on mine, ADW Launcher EX, updated yesterday...
I have shorcuts on my dock for email, messaging and phone, and it's working fine, haven't tried it with shorcuts on the desktop, maybe that's an issue?
Hmm don't know. Although I got a solution... Its called ADWNotifier. Its a free app that allows the ADW Launcher to use that feature.
However, after trying it out, I realized that those bubbles don't look as good with this current setting of mine. I like the clean look.
Mods can close the thread. Thanks.

Oops, forgot to mention I'm using that too
Notifications do work on desktop shortcuts too.

[Q] Identify the ADW Theme please?

The ADWLauncher EX page on the Android Market has a picture of this awesome home screen and I can't figure out what theme the user has.
I see it's in landscape mode but the notification bar is at the bottom along with Back,Home,and I believe menu bottoms in the bottom-left corner. Also the dock bar looks awesome (similiar a bit to Mac?) , and there is an awesome clock and a few extra buttons on the top-right (Lock desktop, edit, etc)
Can anyone identify some of these or the overall theme perhaps?

Inserted pic but if it's not displaying properly, the pics also on ADW Ex's page on the Market as I said.
I don't think it's a theme. It's a tablet running Honeycomb. You could check out Honeycomb themes though and it would look similar.
Ah yeah now i see the honeycomb icon on the notification bar. Wow that's honeycomb on a tablet, Gorgeous lol.
I actually did download a honeycomb adw theme yesterday and it didn't quite look the same. Is there a way to move the notification bar or setup the icons in an elongated dockbar fashion. Also im curious about the clock widget, im sure it has to be downloadable from somewhere.

is there a way to get the s-planner widget on adwlauncher?

The default touchwiz idle screens have a lovely large s-planner widget showing a monthly view. In adwlauncher, and that widget doesn't show up in the list at all. Any ideas on how to get the widget on an adwlauncher Page?

+1Thats also my launcher
Many Samsung widgets not available on other launchers
The answer is no. Samsung has married(hard-coded) its widgets to the Touch-Wiz interface/launcher and if you don't use Touch-Wiz, you cannot use the S-Planner widget. I personally use Launcher Pro and get Pure Grid Calendar widget. I also have on my dock a shortcut to the S-Planner.
I'm trying out Zeam launcher right now and have created an S-Memo shortcut using desktop visualiser, and dropped it into the dock. It works! And I have a 7 icon dock now, is that cool or what!
