[Q] Larger Contacts Photos / Caller ID - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So,
I've seen a variety of Apps (which are not well done in my opinion) to get full-screen caller id working.
I've also tried to edit my Phone.APK myself and haven't gotten it to work successfully.
I've seen tons of old posts, but nothing recently, which makes me wonder if this solution has been worked out.
I basically would love to get my contact photos larger, as well as full screen caller id. How are most of you doing this?

Dialer with large Contacts Photo

Does anyone know of a dialer which displays a larger contacts photo. The size of photo in the standard T-Mobile dialer is tiny. Also the pop up notification window on an incoming call doesn't show any photo. A large picture of the caller would be great for screening calls. I used to use a modded Eten dialer on my Wizard which did have a slightly larger picture but afaik it is WM5 and does not support video calling.
Bump
Are there any Kaiser compatible dialers which display a larger contacts photo?
I used to use this and it worked nicely:
http://www.pocketx.net/products/photocontactspro_ppc/index.html
It also had good profile management, blocking features etc.
I can't be bothered to install it now that the HTC Home has contact pictures on it though...
I have used "Slide 2 Unlock" on mine which is available on this forum. There is a registry setting on this that will allow you to have a full screen picture of the incoming call contact as a background with the incoming phone number providing you have a photo for the caller stored. It works very well and it's free!
I'm now using "Inesoft Address Book" and I'm quite happy about it.

Try it and I'm sure you'll like it

I installed this last night (v0.86) and it is working brilliantly. What with S2U2, PocketCM, PocketCM keyboard, HTC Album I feel like a little Apple fan boy. I didn't start out to clone the iPhone look&feel I just wanted a responsive, intuitive, user friendly interface for commonly used features.
I guess I didn't either but it's hard not to like some of these iphone type apps. It's a bit like having the best of both worlds, but what I will say is that I tried the iphone in the o2 shop and the screen is something else!
Does it identify contacts in your SIM? Photo COntacts pro didn't that's why I stopped using it. Also can you use alternate dialerpads cause the one they show is ugly. Also what shows when someone without a picture is calling? Thanks for your help and advice.
Does somebody know what registry settings belongs to make larger contact photo appear on incoming calls? I don't want to use a multi purpose program for it.
Thx

Why is the "caller ID Pop up screen " so small?

when i get a call. The Caller ID pop up screen is too low on the screen and i dont get to see all the information?
its like the lower 1/3 is missing
thanks
Why not try this:

Audio
thanks for the link
At the moment i want to try and not download anything etc until i understand these things better ! i dont want to use my phone as a door stop !
I wonder if the phone settings can be adjusted etc to show the "pop up" in full
Or is this the way it works from factory?? If so its madness (Again)
you can't change that AFAIK
why don't you try S2U2 ? it has a great caller ID interface, very similar to the one found on the iphone... it works very well for me

Any other options than S2U2 and PocketX available? To bad PocketCM has no callerscreen intergrated.
I've been tempted to get the s2u2, but I've read some posts from a few that love it but say it is somewhat buggy. So, I'm staying away for the moment.
Photo contacts Pro
i have using photo contact pro for my kaizer and it working great..
The photo contact just show the caller ID with Full screen............. any idea
about how to show the dialed ID with full screen?
Inesoft Address book has a skinnable CallerID
http://www.inesoft.com/eng/index.php?in=addressbook.html
And is it possible to only use the CallerID from Inesoft Address book? I don't want a different Adress Book. I like PocketCM.
I doubt it. The Configuration for caller ID is part of the address book software. But there are also setting for when to use the Inesoft address book. Maybe you could turn it off there.

[Q] Caller ID (or am I missing something)

I was wondering if there is a good app that will display callers names along with numbers that are not in my contacts. My crappy old Sony phone did it without any apps and Im quite disappointed my captivate doesnt do it.

Not that I am aware of. It seems alot of people have complained about their name being displayed on caller ids, mainly when when the name is not theirs like when someone is on anothers account so the name shows up as the account holder.

It also allows you to change what name appears on other people's caller ID like Zelendel refers to.

Photo not showing for incoming calls

I'm having the following problem with my watch paired with Samsung Note 4.
When I get a call from a contact with photo I don't see it on the watch. In the first 1,2 seconds I see the stock grey contact photo (with the silhouette) and after that it shows grey-to-white (top-to-bottom) gradient.
Strange is that if the call is missed on the card with the missed call I see the photo in the background.
I've played around - saved a contact on the phone, saved a contact on my Google Account, linked them, tried different sizes and format. Cleared cache. No success.
Someone any idea?
Someone else... FINALLY!
I have this issue as well on a Note 4 N910V (Verizon version). I want to know why it happens desperately. I have installed contacts for Wear apps that DL the contact to the watch, rebooted numerous times, made new contacts. I am going to get with a buddy of mine who has an android phone (only person in my close circle who does) and pair it with his Note 3. I'll let you know if the same thing happens... this would indicate an issue with the watches firmware, otherwise, it is possibly an issue with how Samsung stores photos for contacts or something. A very annoying issue, indeed. You are the only other person I could find with this issue on the interwebs, and i have look thru so many forums.

Please participate here and provide logs. It seems it is something with Note 4:

Very Small Photo In Caller ID? How To Make Larger? Need A Different App For This?

So, the Caller ID photo is very small (I find).
What are some great Caller ID apps that can show the caller's photo large enough to take up the entire phone screen?
Thank you!
I used some different calling/dialing apps in the past, and, sometimes they cause more troubles than beneffits, so I no longer try any.....
