Folding smartcover like ipad

Im looking for a folding case similar to the ones for an ipad.
Has anyone seen any of these?

Me too! But from what I've seen, there's nothing similar...I'm not liking ANY of the cases available for the Nexus 7 right now...all seem too bulky and just doesn't go with the whole tablet...

Not really... looks like it will make the device 2 times thicker... need a nice smooth ultrathin thingy.

I don't like it when they have something covering the front bezel as it gets in the way, especially with a smaller tablet.
The official samsung book cover case for tha tab 7.7 was awesome!

I'd say there's probably pretty huge demand for this among N7 buyers. One of the big draws for a 7" tablet is portability compared to a 10". I can fit the thing in my pants pocket or my inner coat pocket with ease and no real additional bulk. These huge covers currently on sale seriously take away from that.

I'd glady pay $25-40 for a tpu case with a folding smart cover that can be used as a stand as well. It would be thin, give protection on all sides & turn screen off automatically.
I agree the market is there for something like this, with the sales through the roof of the N7 I do think we will see alot of quality cases soon.

+1, we know the market is there, it just seems the manufacturers don't or they'd be making them....everything is some hefty duty thick ugly cover up your entire device type of case....

I think we'll start seeing cases like that in Middle/Late August or September. Most of the nicer cases that are made specifically for the Nexus won't come out until later.

I would love to have something like the Apple Smart Cover with Android Robot in GREEN!!!

I would like one too. Almost all cases for Nexus 7 that I have seen just makes the device bulkier.

I'd love a smart cover like the one for iPad's. I use a carbon fibre sticker on the back of my iPad to protect it and with the smart cover for the front, it hardly adds to the thickness. Currently using a playbook case (until the case I ordered comes in) and it definitely adds bulk.

I have the clear S case coming today/tomorrow, and the Black X case coming Friday. Also Have a 7in Android slip cover coming. will post thoughts when I receive.

GREAT source for pictures on how these Series S-line look on the Nexus 7. I ordered the X series, which I think covers the buttons.
Found another clear X series installed on a I/O unit;
Borrowed me some ebay pictures of a clear S-line installed on a retail unit;

I have the s-line case on my nexus 7 n its a nice fit. Cutouts are perfectly lined up with buttons, speaker hole, charging port, etc. Very thin not bulky at all but thick enough to protect the n7. I would recommend it.

Looks nice. I will pick one up. Nice too as you do,nt have to worry about setting the device face down, getting the back greasy (reading while eating ) or having to look like an old person with all these "folio" cases.

I bought one of the X designs shows in the various colors on the previous page. I bought it from Amazon in black. Coupled with a SP this maybe all that I need.
I would like a thin flap case but they add way to much bulk right now. Maybe when someone creates a thin model, I'll jump.

looks close to an incipio feather case design for the ipad... the corners dont seem fully covered though? i want something like this as i hate the current folio leather case i have.. its serving a purpose by keepinng the nexus safe.. but i want something slimmer

It surrounds the whole unit in a similar way to the TPU cases, but has a wrap around cover to protect the screen.

i also order this case last week
waiting shipping to my house now

I don't like the flap how it wraps completely around the device and attaches to the back. I guess you could cut it off or something but then it would just flop around.

i agree...why not have a TPU style case and then just attach the front flap to the edge of the case....that is really all they need.

Maybe cuz sometimes the flap folds up from the screen when you put it in a bag leaving the screen exposed....does anybody know if it wakes and sleeps the tablet?

Price at 19.99 is a bit steeper than other Ebay cases,
and its pictures do not show if we can fold the cover all the way back or if it's a Smart cover or not.
But I like its look, probably will wait to see other sellers posting the same one with more pictures and detailed description.

To be honest, that does look like one of the better looking cases on eBay. If you guys want, I can take it for the tram and review it when I get it? Hopefully by the end of this week.

Its "Pu Leather" which is short for poly synthetic leather. As in, its a cheap less durable leather covering some piece of cardboard or something.
In fact, some countries like New Zeland and UK have banned the sale or use of "leather" for products with this type.
But I'll update you guys once I get this case.

Looks like a really nice case, but after reading this I might keep waiting... Waiting for a perfect slim case to be released before I buy one!

I bought one too, I'll take some pics when I get it in as well. I'll probably get this one from China before I get my darn Portenzo case lol.

I ordered one of these about a week ago, still waiting on delivery but will post my views on it when it arrives.

It looks like it arrived at the San Francisco post office, which is only 50 miles away so I may get my case tomorrow. If I do I'll post pics and my impression :good:

Anybody waiting for better cases?

I liked the Poetic Slimline with the smart cover, but I'm hoping for something a little more quality. Anybody else holding out for better cases or is this best we've seen?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I made the mistake of impulse buying the Asus TPU case that doesn't stay closed. I'm currently tempted by the Portenzo Hardback because I like the idea of it looking like a moleskin book, but I'd also like something that didn't require "adhesives" and could pivot on a desk.

I have order the nilkin tpu case but im waiting something better with smart cover from bigger players like belkin...

I am. I went with a Portenzo initially but the case just didnt meet my expectations so Im in the market for sometihng new. I like the Blurex slim fit folio but I dont really want a black case.

I'm waiting for rokform to come out with a case... rokform.com I emailed them and asked if they were in the process of making a case and they said yes but no eta.

I just ranted a bit on another thread on this.
I sure hope someone, somewhere comes out with a decent case. Of seems everyone else making 7 inch tablets or EReaders seems to come out with very nice slime cover/cases ((Samsung, amazon kindles, hell even kobo). It has been long enough already.

Nope. I usually am all about craftsmanship, etc. but for some reason, a cheapo case is good enough for me. I guess because the "better" cases are almost always also bulkier and/or gaudier.
Edit: by the way, I have the same case as the OP and it does everything I need a case to do...basically protect the screen when shoved in a bag and not cost too much.

I'm waiting for Incipio to get their offerings on the table. A Lexington or LGND version would be great.

They are similar to the poetic slimfit but hopefully they don't have the draw back and flaws.
(they seem to better protect the device than the other slim ebay cases)
I already asked the manufacturer if the cover properly fold all the way back, and if the auto sleep/wake function is triggered when the cover is fold back. waiting for the answer.
The problem: we need to buy at least 100 cases (wholesale manufacturer) ...
and I wasn't able to find these cases from a reseller neither on ebay nor on amazon ?

I have an I-Blason that I bought from amazon for like 13 bucks. Not the Multi Angle one, but the folio one with built in stand and stylus. I am pretty happy with it. My fiance absolutely loves it
