My nexus 7 has arrived today from Ebuyer, which is a week earlier than i expected and so i don't have a cover. So i was just wondering where people have got a decent cover from for theirs?

THIS bad boy here!. I just got one for only 6 dollars after shipping. Hopefully it'll arrive the same time my n7 does, though it'll more than likely get here first.

there are many different brands for covers / protectors...i am looking into getting one also. I am stuck between trying out gorilla glass or a xoskin protector. Just cant make up my mind.

I bought 3 cases and 2 wires to use the computer headphones. Way cheapter than Amazons offer.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm 99% sure that Gorilla Glass is only available already on a device, not something you fit yourself.

17USD plus shipping. Looks nice and slim, BUT I had one in carbon fiber for my Kindle Fire and it was ok, but not great. I settled on the seidio active case for the KF. My "perfect" case search adventure continues!

I'm thinking long and hard about a treegloo case. I can't posts links but its treegloo.com . They are on the pricier side but I love the moleskine look.

Yeah, they look good alright. I wish there were more N7 cases available because I don;t know if I want to spend this much $$ on a case, but with the lack of options I just may. Their Ipad cases have the smart cover feature so I hope these cases do as well.
Edit: I just contacted TreeGloo and this case will also be a smart case. I'm scalping some concert tickets so I can justify spend 20% of the tablet cost on a case though but I really like the fact that the case looks like an old book cover.

Mostly because I had $6.01 in ebay bucks that I needed to use... so it only cost me $0.58. It makes me laugh that it looks like there's an ipad in that picture. We'll see what it looks like when it actually gets here.

at some point in this forum, i came across a case that looked like a leather bound book, anyone have a link to that? I cannot find it, i even checked my history from today and cannot find it in there either, it's driving me nuts!

Nexus 7 case for Kids

So I want to buy 2 nexus 7 for my kids 5 and 2.5. I cant do it untill I find a case for kids. I cant find any drop test video of the stock case.

I bought my (now 5 year old) daughter a Lenovo tablet for christmas last year. It has held up well with just a rubber case. TPU maybe? I am not sure of the exact material, but it feels like rubber.
I think the N7 would be kid proof with that type of case, a screen protector... and some firm rules about the use of the device

I saw this but i dont think its thick enough, my 2.5 year old is an oaf. the best way to describe him is; remember the cartoons where that big monster guy runs through a wall and leaves a hole in the wall in the shape of said character, well thats what my son is like.

I'd wait for otterbox to come out with something. I've got one on an iPad (perfect for kids and old people) for my 3 kids and the thing is bomb proof. I couldn't use anything that bulky myself but its the only way to for kids IMO.

Bobj gear has a case coming out here soon.
Otterbox has a case coming soon also.
Gumdrop has their sleeve case out but don't know if they're going to make an actual case.

I have purchased a Nexus 7 as Christmas gift for my Family to use. I want to set it up and have my kids (4 year old twins, and 2 year old) be able to use it with "minimal" supervision. Much of the process is account setup and "sandboxing" what they have access to, the other part is protecting the hardware. I have purchased a screen protector to help prevent scratches, now I need to find a case with good protection that doesn't cost too much.
I'd like to keep the cost under $40. So far I have found:
BobjGear Rugged Case: REVIEW | $19 at Amazon
Poetic Revolution Case: REVIEW and HERE | $29 at Amazon
Seidio Active Case: REVIEW | $35 for case only and $45 with cover at Seidio -- slightly too high
I like the bright colors of the Bobj, for kids plus makes it easier to see if it was "misplaced"
I feel the Poetic case provides the best protection with built in screen protector and port covers (keeping things out of ports that shouldn't be there), this is the one I am most interested in and wish Poetic had other colors.
Seidio, I don't see anything it offers over the Poetic other than red, white, or blue options.
I'm aware of Gumdrop and Otterbox, but prices are too high for my taste; I'm not convinced they would provide better protection compared to the ones above.
Any options I'm missing?

I have a gumdrop case, makes it feel pretty solid, has a clear plastic screen protector and a 2 stage casing.

I liked the Poetic Slimline with the smart cover, but I'm hoping for something a little more quality. Anybody else holding out for better cases or is this best we've seen?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I made the mistake of impulse buying the Asus TPU case that doesn't stay closed. I'm currently tempted by the Portenzo Hardback because I like the idea of it looking like a moleskin book, but I'd also like something that didn't require "adhesives" and could pivot on a desk.

I have order the nilkin tpu case but im waiting something better with smart cover from bigger players like belkin...

I am. I went with a Portenzo initially but the case just didnt meet my expectations so Im in the market for sometihng new. I like the Blurex slim fit folio but I dont really want a black case.

I'm waiting for rokform to come out with a case... rokform.com I emailed them and asked if they were in the process of making a case and they said yes but no eta.

I just ranted a bit on another thread on this.
I sure hope someone, somewhere comes out with a decent case. Of seems everyone else making 7 inch tablets or EReaders seems to come out with very nice slime cover/cases ((Samsung, amazon kindles, hell even kobo). It has been long enough already.
To answer the question directly, yes I'm waiting anxiously for anything better.

Nope. I usually am all about craftsmanship, etc. but for some reason, a cheapo case is good enough for me. I guess because the "better" cases are almost always also bulkier and/or gaudier.
Edit: by the way, I have the same case as the OP and it does everything I need a case to do...basically protect the screen when shoved in a bag and not cost too much.

I'm waiting for Incipio to get their offerings on the table. A Lexington or LGND version would be great.

(they seem to better protect the device than the other slim ebay cases)
I already asked the manufacturer if the cover properly fold all the way back, and if the auto sleep/wake function is triggered when the cover is fold back. waiting for the answer.
The problem: we need to buy at least 100 cases (wholesale manufacturer) ...
and I wasn't able to find these cases from a reseller neither on ebay nor on amazon ?

Slim Flip Case

About to pick up a 7 today and want to get a good case for it. I'm looking for one that adds very little bulk, yet has a flip cover and that doubles as a stand. I've seen the Poetic Slimline and Speck Fitfolio so far and both seem pretty good but I just want to make sure I haven't missed any other options. Thanks!

I've heard a lot of talk about the poetic but I'm curious if the plastic back part gets all scratched up if it gets placed in bags or desks often. I'm also curious about other options.

I've tried about all of them except the speck and my favorite is the moko slim fit. They even have one in real leather now.

It's durable, feels good to carry around and has a lifetime warranty so if you wear it out they'll send you a new one.
The poetic slimline falls apart after about a week. It's good while it lasts.
I don't have the nillkin yet, but I think thats the other one to watch.

If you're the type of person that prefers quality made things then stay away from the Poetic case! I regret buying the Poetic. I just barely received it today and can't stand this cheap quality case. After owning cases for iPads and Kindles, I don't even know how anyone can tolerate these poorly made cases.

Thats pretty cool looking. Looks alot like my Speck case.
My buddy has a poetic case and between my Speck and his the speck is a bit better. His is slightly thinner but the magnetically closing front isnt as good as the specks clasp. The clasp holds much better in a bag than the magnet and the speck has far superior viewing angles for the stand.

I don't understand the Poetic-hating. I love mine. Had it for a couple weeks now, and it is holding together fine. No fraying. This thing is as good as I could've asked it to be.

The seller never shipped it and after 3 days since the expected delivery, and no way to contact the seller, Amazon had to refund the order.

Just got my Otterbox commuter case

My commuter case just arrived from Ebay. I quickly took the Verizon case off and polished up my shiny phone.
Case went on easy and fits perfect. The buttons press perfect. All cut outs are lined up perfect. The case really didnt add too much size to the phone. I didn't get the Defender for this reason. There is a nice lip around the edge so you can put your phone down face down safely.
I can really recommend this case. I bet I could drop my phone with no damage. Not that I plan on dropping it, but hey its a phone and im sure I will drop it sooner or later.

post pics dude, do worry about the boo birds that have nothing better to do but talk about others posts. please share, especially if you take some good quality pics. i just ordered from mobilecityonline and hope to get it sometime soon. i was going to go with the Incipio DualPro Shine ($22 or ebay) but when with the Otterbox for the history of quality protection (even though it costs 2x as much, yikes).

Nothing wrong with more pictures and another perspective on accessories.

is the soft part of the case very squishy or sticky that would attract lint? I'm on the fence with this case since it's a really expensive case

I got mine in today. I think I might eat a restocking fee and go white to match my case, although titanium looks good also.
I have 6 GN2 cases and this is the best case I have thus far, and not as bulky as I thought it would be.
Included screen protector works well and fits perfectly.

nice pics, mien should be arriving tomorrow, but im going out of town tonight, lol. will be back wednesday. i have a white gn2 and almost went with the glacier otterbox, but decided on the white. had i seen your pics i might have been swayed a bit more.

nice pics, mien should be arriving tomorrow, but im going out of town tonight, lol. will be back wednesday. i have a white gn2 and almost went with the glacier otterbox, but decided on the white. had i seen your pics i might have been swayed a bit more.

Too bad my main camera is my Note 2. I had to resort to my Galaxy Nexus for shots.
