Hey guys,
It seems that the screen backlight and the buttons backlight (return and menu buttons) run separately and dont have to be on at the same time.
Would it not be possible to make an app that utilizes the button backlight as notification? Just like the nokia 5800 which blinks/breathes as notification.

I'm after a way of bringing up the volume slider without using the phone buttons. I'm using slimbean at the moment. I've looked all over for an app or activity shortcut through phone shell. Any ideas on how to launch this slider?

What ROM are you using? If you have a CM7 based ROM you can probably use symbi0sis kernel which allows you to use the GuesteOC app where you can turn down the brightness of the leds to 0. It wont disable the keys but they will be "invisible".
guys, this app http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958939, that app is great for notification , because our device do not have LED notif
button LED is works fine in our sIII mini, but our device doesn't allow buttonlight lid while screen off , makes that app useless in our device, the creator of that app tells that because of kernel limitation, maybe someone can tweak a kernel

Is there a possibility of disabling the feature of lowering the volume of a RINGER for incoming calls using volume control button?
On a Samsung S3 mini.
It is relatively easy in a noisy/distracting environment to accidentally press volume control button. This could lower the ringer volume for all incoming calls. I have already missed a couple... Important ones.
I don't think there is such option.
I think i can make you an app which can disable volume buttons. In that case you will need to adjust the volume manually in settings

Update: Its not possible to make the service.
I was able to disable them in app but when user is outside of the app they are enabled again.
I can't make a background service since it doesn't support hardware keys because it doesn't have any UI.
I will try to experiment with a widget, but can't promise anything.

Is it possible to mute notification sounds from the lock screen? I think with past phones I would just push one of the volume keys and it would mute it... Just tried on my s5 and it didn't work... Possibly missing a setting? Thanks in advance!
