I am pretty sure, you can root, install busybox, then goto the OCLF [app] thread and download the apk.
Install on your phone, and then install recovery 2e
Heres how to root

[REQ] Needed CWM as an ODIN package.

Hi,
Can someone point me to a CWM odin package or post an Odin package flashable by Odin please?
Thanks.
sztupy's kernel is ODIN flashable and installed Clockwork as default recovery, I believe:

Yes, I know that but I wanted just the CWM. Thanks.
If you have 2e recovery, you dont need odin to use cwm. Run it the "old fashioned way" before it was integrated into kernels.
Assuming its the Galaxy-S - get it from koush's site koush's site. Rename the file as update.zip, push it to sdcard, launch recovery into 2e and run the update.zip to get into cwm.
PS: easiest way of doing all this is to install ROM Manager from Market.
Or download ROM manager from market and it'll let you install CWM..
Thanks to you all for quick reply.
But if I have 3e recovery...... Really nees CWM as Odin tarball

[Q] Flashing to 2e recovery

I updated my Galaxy S to the latest stock firmware 2.2.1 Froyo so now I need to flash back to recovery 2e. I've found a thresd containing kernals on here and wondered if the CF-Root-XX_OXA_JPU-v1.3 would be suitable and safe to use to get recovery 2e.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=788108
yes i've flashed it and it is safe and easy to use
..suitable for my Galaxy S running Froyo 2.2.1? Would this also give me recovery 2e in the place of version 3e?

Worked for me running JPU (2.2.1).
From the page CF-Root page:
"2e" recovery (can flash unsigned update.zip's)
This is what you want.

CWM recovery problem?

Hi all, i just recently rooted my i9000m with psneuter on superoneclick, easy stuff, i came from a desire z so in comparison the root process was much easier, anyways i
went to rom manager, flashed CWM, reboot into recovery, and voila, stock 3e recovery, no reinstall packages option, and apply update.zip not working. What's wrong?
baseband version I9000UGJL2 btw
crap just realized this is in wrong section, please disregard
Facing the same problem here. It seems the froyo has recovery 3e which doesnot allow the unsigned zips to flash. U need to get 2e recovery to flash clockworkmod and then you can install the custom roms, backup and restore etc etc....
There is a video tutorial on you tube using speedmod kernel and Odin to get recovery 2e in stock 2.2...
