Is this possible? Any "themes" out there I can flash as updates? I'm tired of the default lockscreen on my Droid X, but I don't want WidgetLocker because I don't really need to add widgets... I just want a custom look.
Anyone?

well... you could open up framework-res.apk and see what you can do with the pngs

Anyone know of a way to get the weather on the lockscreen, without getting an extra app. I'm currently using the Epic Unlock and would like to add weather to it.
Weather bug lets u display temperature in status bar, if that helps.

Yeah, Beautiful Widgets let's me do the same. I would just like to mod my current one to include the weather from Beautiful Widgets or Fancy Widgets. I think this would be a really cool mod.
I use beautiful widgets (which you say you have, so I'm not counting it as an "extra app") I set my background to the beautiful live weather wallpaper, so that should do what you want it to I think.
If you don't want the weather as you permanent wallpaper, most custom roms will let you choose a specific wallpaper for your lockscreen.
I really like having the weather as my background as it's one of the really quick and easy way I can disgrace all the iphone folks.
been looking for ages how i can Customize my lockscreen
WITHOUT using Widgetlocker
i mean like adding widgets and making custom sliders
is there anyway to do so without WL or any other application ?
want to lose the need for a replacement and try to make deafult lockscreen usable
i love this app but sadly its problematic with many other apps so looking for an alternative
with the default lockscreen you can only set the wallpaper, if you choose a custom rom, you have 5 or 9 (depends on the rom) to choose and one of those its fully customizable
Simple Lockscreen, you can customize it
hey guys thnx for the answers but the thing is even with those 9 lockscreens
there is stuff missing like adding widget and stuff
its a big shame that the default lockscreen on android can not be customized.
another let down
The lockscreen is the only part of my Nexus S I haven't customised yet.
What are your favourite apps and mods for the lockscreen? Mind sharing them and perhaps a screenshot?
Cheers,
L
Widgetlocker, you can get it from the market.
Then look up some custom sliders, there are some great minimalist ones out there that are far prettier than the standard android one. I may get round to adding more here but for now check that out, its how i did mine.
Thank you Corvidd, will check both out!
Is there anything to bring notifications on the lockscreen at all?

You can add widget in widgetlocker, then you got notifications in lockscreen...
You can also let notification bar free to be open and add shortcuts... really useful app.

Widgetlocker for sliders.
Widgetsoid for power control toggles.
SimiClock for Weather, time and battery.
In Widgetlocker - enable the notification bar.
The end result of all this is a ridiculous amount of 1 click functionality from your lock screen.
I also use NoLED for notifications along with WidgetLocker, works well.
Hope this helps!
I used MetaMorph for my lockscreen.

Anyone tried GOTO Lockscreen?

It has more or less what I want although I would really just like a list of all the notification with ability to launch directly the associated app on the lockscreen..
I hear this is what Sense 3 does but can't find an example anywhere..

Hi,
is it possible to get the Honeycomb-Style (Theme, Icons) without root?
Or is it neccessary to root the phone and use CM?
EDIT:
I found the "Go Launcher EX" with "Honeycomb" but I don't like the other features like switching the homescreens.
Try honeybread for the cm7 theme chooser:

Ah okay.
So rooting my Nexus S is necessary.
There is also a honeycomb theme for launcher pro plus (don't need root for that)

To change the status bar, etc. you need root, you can either use a .zip and flash the theme, or use a ROM which supports the themechooser. This isn't required though as you can create your own theme easily via UOT Kitchen.
My suggestion is:
1. Root your phone.
2. Install either Oxygen or CM7, both includes the themechooser.
3. Download and apply Honeybread HDPI Theme.
4. Enjoy.
This way you won't have to mess with the kitchen or anything, and you'll have the Honeycomb style you're after.
Hope it helps
Thanks for the fast replies!
I think I will root my phone today
Great.
It works.
Thanks!
EDIT:
And this works, too.

There's a small problem now.
I tried to install a clock/date widget but if I open the drawer on homescreen there is no widget to choose?

Not sure what you are asking... you hold down on the home screen and select to choose a widget.
Well, that's the usual way to place a widget.
But my installed widgets aren't listed. There are always only the standard ones.

guys check out the honeycomb launcher! and ripple lockscreen for a real honeycomb experience! still in beta but if they work on it enough it will be awesome.
anyone knows if its possuble to add like a backdrop or overlay to all the default icons to get a more unified look?
or would i nees to manually change every icon?

use launcher pro ..you can get it from the market..it automatically gives frames to the icons wen you click it..or MIUI rom gives permanent frames..more like the apple iphone icons!
U could do that with lp? I never found that but please report back how.
I currently use go launcher that, if u use an icon theme like classic or suave (which I highly raccomend), does just that to all the icons that are not supported by the theme directly.
It's actually a really good launcher but my favorite remains lp.
