when phone is a sleep
So, you want it to do it automatically? There are a few that you can do it manually, of course. Automatic though, you'll need to do something like one of these:

Something along those lines will probably be what you are looking for. Hope this helps.

Yes, those do it if he is looking for a manual toggle switch, but I think he was wanting it to do it every time he turned off the screen. It's easy to forget to do that each time.

Toggle 2g switches from 3g to 2g automatically when the screen turns off. This will save battery life just like manually shutting off data.
Be sure in settings that your 3g network is cdma auto prl and set delay to 2 minutes.

It works, if you download the plug in which allows you to manually turn 3g back on it's easier to tell, when the phone is still in 2g go to the dialer, type *#*#4636#*#* that will open a menu Select phone information, then scroll down, it'll say GSM which means it's 2g, once you manually turn 3g on it will say your 3g setting which should be CDMA auto.

Yeah you shouldn't be setting it to GSM you should set 2G to CDMA and 3G to CDMA auto PRL.

I just have a quick question. When using the wifi tether app would overclocking make a difference In Speed. If it doesn't I would underclock it to save battery

no its limited to sprints speeds just as a home network is limited to whatever speeds a service provides.
I was wondering how to enable the 3g on my captivate. Im using Continuum v6.1, when I load my web browser it says 3g then turns off n says H. Is this a normal issue or should I flash back to a different rom. Sorry im fairly new to this and I didn't find anything related to my issue in the search

H stands for hspa. It is a faster form of 3g, it is capable of speeds twice as fast as normal 3g.
Oh really? That's great thanks man. Learn something new everyday.

I am using RemICS too, and looked for a solution to your problem but did not.
The only thing that crossed my mind, did you make the phone look networks exist in your area and check if the network, you are looking for, will appear. If this happens just select it there.
Sorry for my poor english.
JCBG
Settings>system>notification draw>widget buttons>toggle 2G/3G to add the toggle to status bar for easy switching between the to, to do it manually, settings>more>mobile networks>use only 2G networks.
These questions should be posted in remICS thread instead of starting a new one.

How did you enable your 3g? I am also using slimbean 3.1 on my GT-I9100 (Samsung Galaxy S2).
A simple code from dialer.
*#*#4636#*#*
Dial it.go to phone information and select network type to WCDMA only.
You will be connected to 3G if 3G network in your area is available.
