EU Froyo JPK Bluetooh "HID Profile" On Froyo JP3 Rom For KeyBoard & WiiMote Pairing
Please Excuse Mispelling I was typing fast in a rush......
OK Basically if your alittle Video Game Emulator Savy, then u already know the Extreme! capabilities of the of Samsung Vibrant with Video Game Console Emulators. Espeacilly if U Installed The "PSX" Emulator Apk & go into your settings and set the "Screen Refresh Rate" to 60FPS. Its beatiful. The Games "Fighting Force" & "Tekken 1" can run almost at full speed. I believe the Vibrant has no 30 Frames Per Second cap like the Sprint EVO 4G (Note: The 30FPS Cap on The Sprint EVO 4G was just lifted recently in a recent Sprint Android 2.2 OTA Mini Firmware 3.29.651.5 Update) it really flies.
WHATZ MISSING!!!!
===============
WIIMOTE/ WII REMOTE OR PS3 Controller Syncing......
The Regular Non! TouchWiz!.... Non! HTC Sense! Stock Andriod 2.1 Roms
has a different "Bluez" BlueTooth Stack than the Vibrant's Android 2.1 Bluetooth 3.0 Bluetooth Stack. Even though the Non TouchWiz Stock Android Rom has BT 2.1 not BT 3.0; the BT 2.1 Bluez STack has been out longer and developes have made more apps to sync the "Wii Remote" to the Stock Android 2.1 BT Profile.....NOT! the BT 3.0 profile.
Which means u can sync two "Wii Remotes" to your Galaxy S & play PlayStation 1 Co-Op/2 Player Games/Roms right on your phone. (Also SNES Emulators like "SNESOID" & many More) U can also hook the GALAXY S/ Vibrant to your TV through the "TV OUT" feature & have a mini PSX Gaming Console thats poratble SO U CAN TAKE IT ANYWHERE. (Use the 3.5 Head Phone Jack For Regular TV Out and the Micro SD Port for HDMI TV Out)
Whatz Up, Eugene

Whatz Up Witcha Wes,
What Do yall think?
U guys are pioneering the Froyo! Vibrant Movment Right Now....
Is it possibale at all to port over the Euro Version Of "Froyo JPK" Bleuz Bluetooth Stack with HID (Keyboard) Profile Over to the US Version "Froyo JP3". Its very complicated code but i wanted to know if it was at all possiable to swap BT Stacks. Samsung special brand of bluetooth 3.0 on Vibrant dosent support the HID keyboard protocal but the EU JPK Version Does & to get that working would be a great success for every person who wants to use a standard mini Keyboard or Video Game Controller for there Android Powered Devices.
Im Not sure if it would be easier to take an Android 2.1 Vibrant Stock Rom & remove the Samsung BT 3.0 Stack & Replace it with the Standard Stock Android 2.1 Bluez BT Stack OR Would it be easier to take an Android 2.2 Samsung TouchWiz Euro Froyo JPK Build BT Stack with HID Profile already working & Port there Apks & Scripts to the Froyo JP3 Builds that Eugene & Sombionix are mastering & get the HID pairing working that way.
Most Androids with 2.1 already have this feature but we DONT HAVE IT! Due to greedy Samsung's Bloated Phat Ass, Plump Ass! Super Bloatware TouchWiz/Iphone Over Skin that surrounds are stock Android Interface (UI). The Divx.apk & Media Hub are the only good bloatware on the Vibrant.
So hopefully we can somehow come to a solution right here in XDA's Development Center.
I have posted the US Froyo BlueTooth 3.0 Stock ApKs here can someone please
post the EU Froyo JPK Build BT Stack Apks so I can start some Amutuar Rudementary Non Developer Testing that will surely leave me spitting up on myself, braindead in a grave..........
I hope this wont be as complicated as getting the Android 2.1 EU FM Radio to work on a Android 2.1 US Rom.....
WITH THE FROYO SOURCE CODE FINALLY!!!! RELEASED WE CAN FINALLY GET THINGS POPPIN! HOPEFULLY THE THE SOURCE CODE WILL MAKE THE HID TRANSITION 10 TIMES EASIER OR EVEN BETTER; THE NEW US FROYO VERSION THAT WILL BE RELEASED REAL SOON WILL ALREADY SUPPORT THE BT HID PROFILE FOR EXTERNAL MOUSES, KEYBOARDS & CONTROLLERS
THIS WILL IN THE NEXT YEAR IN 2011 BECOME JUST AS POPULAR AS THE "A2DP" BT PROFILE.

I just found this video showing off EU Froyo 2.2 JPK Build BT HID Profile Support
Check It Out & see It Working!! for yourself......LIVE!:

I posted a think tank on this, I read on the i9000 forums that even with hid support the bluez stack is still missing and the wiimote still doesn't work
Wow!! Can u please post where u read that if u can....if u cant than thats fine ....its not nessisary.
If this is true than we have to leave samsung's 3.0 bluetooth out of the picture all together. We just have to replace the entire bluetooth 3.0 samsung stack with the old original stock android 2.1 "bluez" bluetooth stack so there will be no problems. I hope cm 6.1 vibrant will have the 2.1 and not 3.0......3.0 is simply just to new!! And nobody is really using any bluetooth 3.0 or 4.0 profiles yet...
This looks very interesting as I would love to use my WII remote or PS3 controller. Another issue that I've seen with the 3.0 Bluetooth Stack is low sound quality for A2DP. If we can revert back to 2.1 maybe my BT FM transmitter won't output 1950's record quality.

gah i cant remember which thread it was =/
Im sure CM6 will use the 2.1 bluez stack because they always have even with sense phones. I dont know how easy it is to replace a bluetooth stack, im more of a graphics and file pushing oriented kinda guy, code isnt exactly my forte lol, which is why i made that think tank thread but i havent seen anyone very experiences chime in about how it can be done.
yeah i definately feel that CM 6.1 Vibrant will have the orginal Bluez Bluetooth 2.1 Profile.
But the HTC Sense i believe was using a different stack but it was still 2.1 but samsungs is 3.0 so the developers might wanna keep 3.0. i guess its up to how bad the developers want HID support over 3.0 quality but it is true that 3.0 has less static & break ups but no clear sound or faster file transfers unless the other device that your syncing to is also 3.0 compliant
Is there an open source wiimote syncing app?
Whatz up AnderDroid....im not sure if the avaiable Apps are Open Source....but im sure the some of the programers wouldnt mind helping ouit on a Galaxy S Mod if a developers trying to build one.
Here are the WiiMote Apps/ Contact then through email & ask. They All reply to Questions:
Wiimote Controller [[email protected]]
Wii Controller IME [[email protected]]
RWiiMote & SimpleWiiController [[email protected]]
Someone with a bluetooth backround should really create an open source wii remote app but everybody wants money soooo.......yeah thats the world. I think most creative developers are very generous & giving ......
There will be a resoultion to this wii mote Keyboard & mouse HID problem very very soon. I can feel it...plus CM 6.1 is on its way super fast now that samsung releasd the open source code......
i have faith in you guys... i will wait patiently for the developments... i went and bought a wii mote today in anticipation to the breakthrough...
i really highly doubt its this easy but if we just took the same files listed in the OP from say a Nexus One and just copy pasted those files over the existing ones in the system folder, would that effectively replace the bluetooth stack..maybe im just dreaming and overly hopeful about that, but i have no idea how the bluetooth stack is integrated, im sure it would need some code editing, idk if its deep in the framework or in the kernel or a different place completely, i wish someone with development knowledge could chime in on this.
HID Installation
Sorry I'm noob on this but I tried installing the EU/ US Eclair but it's refusing to install...

Bump!
So any way to shoehorn this without having to run CM6?
When is this going to be ready? I'm asking for it for months!
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
The wiimote works on cm6beta3. I used it for a day and played some super Mario bros. In the end I went back to nero though... having the wiimote work wasn't worth the bugs... It does need to be a phone after all...
The bluetooth stack is in the framework, and its not a matter of just cutting and pasting it from another build... froyo source will be needed.
Yes, bt hid is there in sams bt stack but the wiimote isn't just bthid

Yeah, I end up doing the same thing :-(
hey all I have a question is there a rom for the G1 that has the interface and features of
MDJ_FroYo_HD_v._4.6_MDJ_S78.0
thanks,
Reg
Way to make your question as awkward to answer as possible...
The ROM you're referring to features the 'new' HTC Sense, built on Froyo. There are Sense ROMs for Dream, but only based on Eclair (AFAIK, there are HVGA froyo sense builds but no one has ported them to Dream yet).
So you can get something similar, just based on Eclair, without the new Sense features... oh, and it will run like molasses.
sorry wasn't really sure how to put the question and that is the same rom I jun on my HD2 so i figured it would be easiest just to include the rom name.
Are there any downsides to going back to Eclair?
No native Apps2SD, things don't seem to run quite as fast. Nothing major, it's just outdated.
thanks that is what i needed to know
I have a quick question about G1 rom(s) as well, and don't think a new thread is necessary- I hope yonu won't mind if i use his thread..
I bought a G1 for my sister- she needs only facebook, youtube, some internet, texting, calling. The G1 is from rogers and it came with android 1.5- I immediately installed the newest cyanogen (6.x) on it by following the official cyanogen wiki. Now, however, the G1 is sometimes slower than my X1 running android. That doesn't seem right. Is this a normal cyanogen behavior? If yes, is there some light rom that is fast and stable? (it has to be froyo, as she needs facebook notifications.)
Thanks!

Pretty much, it's an old device. Your X1 has the same CPU as the G1, but has 64mb of RAM more than the G1.
Try the ezterry's Froyo MyTouch port, it's a port of the froyo build that was released for the mytouch3g (same hardware as G1). If that doesn't satisfy you, you'll be looking at going back to donut (1.6).
Thnx for replies.
to AdrianK: Is donut faster on G1? I always though that JIT makes Froyo the fastest android.. but I guess that works only when there is enough RAM..
to traumatism: Not sure here, but didn't it say in the marketplace that the notifications (by that I mean info in status bar about new message, comment etc showing up even when the fb app is not running) are available only for android 2.2 and up?
Hi, I'm wondering if any of you gotten the android 2.2 keyboard to work on the hero with 2.1 installed. I am mostly interested in this because I want to use the microphone for speech to text...thanks for any information you have! (I currently also have an Evo and the speech to text works like a charm, save a lot of time.)
i have a bell htc touch and have been running NFSFANS ROM and a 2.2 version of android(can't remember which one i tried many) but for the last while android has become unstable, randomly locking up or resetting.
is this common? because it never happened on my warm donut build.
could it be less stable because its running from the sd and not nand?
im afraid that if i switch to android only il have a complete unstable POS just because i want android 2.2 or better
thats why ive kept WM despite hating it because if there was a problem i know it will not crash on me making a phone call or something.
im also a lazy bugger and like that WM can be controlled by my PC, i do this to type longer SMS's and such is there a way to do that on android?
anyway im indecisive what build of android should i use? and are there any downsides to going pure android that i should know about?
and what app should i use to backup my contacts, sms, call history, etc. and is there one that works on WM aswell so i can merge my WM stuff with my adroid stuff and then back it up
thanks
I am running SuperFroyo and it's super stable. Maybe once a week or so it will freeze up but that seems better than WinMo.
I have not got in to sync with a Windows machine, but it does sync just fine with Ubuntu. The Google Voice works well for dictating texts and that's what I mostly use, it's pretty accurate even with my (mild) drawl.

You can use "Funambol Sync Client" to sync with both android and windows mobile. You can also try gingerbread instead of froyo. The latest Gingerbread build is more stable to use, and also for the freezing part, you can overclock your processor to about 520Mhz (for complete stability) but I got it up to 550Mhz for more speed especially when playing games. Hope this helps.
is there a way to go nand without using windows?
if not is the stickyed guide " Easiest Step-By-Step Android Tutorial for the Vogue (NAND Method/Internal Memory)" actually the easiest way?
i ask because its older thus potentially out of date
if not i have a question
step 6 is "Download the latest NBH file that begins with "voguimg-240x320-..." (needed for all Vogue Android ROMs):"
but the latest one is voguimg-240x320-2.6.32-froyo-14-01-11_14.nbh and what if i was planning on running on trying a gingerbread? like Scoot CyanogenMod 7.0.2 RLS2 does it matter that the nbh is for froyo if not is that the best nbh to use?
thanks
I've been running Android on my device for more than a year now. I reflash every few months to one of the new releases to keep the device fresh and ensure that I have the latest bug fixes.
The device isn't SUPER stable, it crashes probably once a week but other than that, it's fine. I use it in my 2010 Kia Forte and it bluetooth syncs the address book.
I recommend it.
+1
i seem to have gotten it installed on nand
im running Scoot CyanogenMod 7.0.2 RLS2 but i noticed when i tried to download a
.zip file it mentioned that i dont have a sd card when i do
why wouldnt it show up and how can i fix it?
thanks
I have installed Igo on my desire hd everything went smooth in installing, but there is a lag when i go threw the IGO menu. The voices in navigation are also very laggy, there is a 2-3 seconds pause between every word, it's like this for example: now.....turn........left I have had IGO before on an HTC Diamond and worked smooth not like this one. Is there any fix or solution ?
thanks
Am I the only one with this problem, or the only one who uses IGO ?
try to find another version of the iGo
there is skinned version that works better called motogis
and check if you have to latest version
I have tryied with 3 versions of IGO but they are all the same, could it be the ROM that I use ? I have Android Revolution 5.1.9
best rom i ve tried for igo is this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1045450
It runs as it should, smooth
I suppose it has to do with the fact the rom base comes from kingdom.
More compatible gfx libs and/or drivers with igo i suppose.
Try it
thanks for your answer, but i do not want to change the ROM, at least not now, I would like to have a solution for my current ROM
i can understand that...
i like a lot cm7 roms too very much, but on them igo runs pretty laggish, so i am using this rom right now.
I am pretty sure its some kingdom component that makes IGO usable.
I wish DHD roms would be as compatible
