Hi, I was just wondering if any of you had seen anyone online that is planning on getting the mini3i and putting the rom online, and if any of you are planning to port it? I've tried searching but I can't hardly find anything other than everyone is saying that the phone comes out this week. Maybe that'd get the ball rolling on getting more devs to work on getting the ophone rom ported to our phones? I know detox has been working on it but the more the merrier!
Thread closed in 1.......2.......3........
sorry (10 chars)
Closed why? If it's in the wrong forum, I apologize, but my question at it's base is: is there anyone looking at this/is it being developed? I ask because if no one else is showing interest in it, then I may take it on if anyone can help me find the dump from the phone. But I know that there are others on this forum that will have it done much quicker/better than I could...
im making this thread for all of us who own a diam500/cdma version of the touch diamond. lets see what we can do to get android to fully work or work at all on our phones. ive asked zenulator & msmission to assist us, they are from the vogue/android section of xda. im sure with their knowledge they can get us hooked up.
i find it ridiculous that gsm diamonds have a fully working port but cdma does not. hopefully this thread will spark some devs interest? id try but im no good at this stuff+i have no time to learn to develop.
so what doesn't work? Do you have builds already? Do you have a kernel git somewhere? Do you have a ril git somewhere?

heres another link to a site that they host android on for gsm diamonds and touch pro's. don't know if it can help but i figured id post it.

im not sure, do you know of anybody that can help us out on your end?
so there is zero interest in this guys?
I'm very interested, but without any real developers on board with these specific devices, the going is slow and painful. I've been digging into source code this week, compiling kernel builds, trying to see how far I can get... but when it gets down to actually modifying the code, it's well beyond my level of expertise.
I've got a post over on ppcgeeks with a working build for my raph800, with possibly working wifi, but no cdma radio. I'm not sure if it'll work for diam500, but it should, since it's based on the combined build.
Since then, I've gotten some help from phh on irc, and gotten a build with cdma radio working, but still no cdma data (pretty sure it broke wifi, too). It's got a different ril rolled into the rootfs.img, and the last working smd.c and smd_rpcrouter.c from linuxtogo stuck into the latest build from the gitorious autobuild.
Anyway, you can give it a shot with this package from connect-UTB with the rootfs and zImage from ppcgeeks -- can't seem to upload them here. That's where we're at now. What's needed now is someone who can actually write the code for smd.c and smd_7500.c (the msm7500, i.e. cdma chipset) so that it properly creates a data channel. At that point we'll be pretty close to where the gsm project is. Are there any real developers in the house?

I'd love to see this happen, and have checked these threads for quite a while in hopes of real progress. I've been really impressed with zenulator's work, incredible really, but as I understand it, he was offered a dia500 but declined it? Were he or another accomplished developer up to the challenge, I'd make a Paypal donation to them in a heartbeat, as I'm sure many many other lurkers would.

i love to see it too as i hate winmo with a passion. i would also donate for a fully working port.
i am in for a donation too.
hoping for Android!
Me too no doubt you can count me in too for a paypal donation. Doing these kernals and modifying the code requires a good deal of time. If you are a developer out there reading this thread there are people here willing to reimburse you for that time and effort you put into it.
Donate 4 Andro
Hey I caught eye of this on PPC, am very much interested in seeing this project pull through. Seems like hordes of work, I am also willing to donate through paypal to keep steam on this !
*fingers crossed*
we need something, i mean they have a flashable android rom for the touch vogue now and we have squat nothing.

no progress than i can see. by the time they do it, ill have a real android phone.
Hey everyone, I've been working on DIAM500 and Android for the last week (after not having done much since October). There has been some real progress since then, especially in the phone functionality.
Things that work:
* placing/receiving calls (although only the speaker works, not the mic)
* send/receive SMS
* Wi-Fi
We're also real close to getting a cell data connection working.
Things that don't work:
* Bluetooth
* Camera
* GPS
* Power management (backlight control, sleep)
* Performance is sometimes sluggish
If I can get a cell data connection running (it is working sporadically on RAPH800), I'll post a kernel and instructions here so you can try it out.
I have a feeling if it gets to the point that wifi and data work, a lot of vogue guys will pick up diamonds on ebay, which would contribute to this fledgling thread. I am both a vogue and diamond owner, the screen and features of the diamond would blow the vogue out of the water if it were as functional with android.
I have recently come off of using an iphone and started using the dream and was wondering if it was possible to port itransmogrify to the dream. I am posting this because I here so much complaining about lack of flash support and wondered if this could be a possible solution to the problem. I am well aware that this is far from full flash support but I found myself constantly using it on the iphone and to say the least it is very convenient to have. Here is the link to the itransmogrify website http://joemaller.com/2008/1/12/itransmogrify/.
Please do not flame me if this is not useful or if it needs to be posted somewhere else if it already is posted somewhere else I am simply trying to help the community out by showing the developers something they may not have previously been aware of. I really hope this helps.
P.s
I own both the iphone and the dream and hands down the dream is better!
if u look into it you will see that there is nothing to "port" it is just an javascript. the only problem is that the Android browser will add an "http://" infront on javacript, so you cant use it as an bookmark. but if you klick on the link on his page, it works on android the same way like on iphone
hmm
I wonder if there is a way to stop the browser from putting html in front of java ill look into it and let you know of any break throughs thank you for the help.
How
how did u get it to work on the g1 im not sure i understand what you did

Hello Folks,
I am searching the forum and the web but I do not get anywhere with my question:
Now I know the FRYO does not have FM Transmitter support, is there any other ROM or any way to get the tansmitter to work?
Thanks a lot for all your help and to the guys making the FROYO availale!
Cheers!

It has not been implemented, and someone would have to create the drivers needed to activate it, so you not gonna see that feature if at all.
Mods will move this to question and answer forum in 3-2-1....
If you have a motor cliq you can use handler rom from functional radio apk.
I'm actually suprised nobody gas taken the motor driver and at least derived a conceptual driver format or something.
Then again, if I searched the forums before asking I would probably find out why that isn't going to work as a starting block.

During I/O one of the google engineers suggested the easiest way to get fm radio is to pull the drives off the incredible, and piece it together.
What a pity - I really thought this would be something which comes out soon - well I think I am wrong. Maybe I am a minor thinking this is a real cool feature...
Thanks a lot for the replies - as I am not a software engineer I will have to wait.
Cheers!

oh sorry for posting in wrong location but thanks for the answer. i recently just got the revo before looking at the current hacks for it and was somewhat disappointed in the lack of them. is there any specific reason for this or is it just not that popular a phone?

The reason is LG not honoring their license and releasing the source code. Illegal? Sure, but who's going to prosecute them?
