Are there any alternatives to gallery? I really don't like gallery app on the N1 it's just so clunky and slow and annoying to me
Had the same problem and found justpictures which I like so far as it's fast and easy.

Hah. That seems to be opposite of me. I'm loving the gallery app though.
Even though the app consistently have a bug upon opening but I love the preview of the catalogs. Have you found all the goodness of the stock gallery though?

Well I've been using nightly builds of 7.1 and everytime I go into the gallery to look at pictures my phone freezes. I was wondering if anybody else was having this problem? I'm using nightly build 140.

Perhaps this goes in the Q/A section and the nightlies are prone to have problems. They're kinda like betas in that way. Maybe try flashing the newest one. That might help you out.

I haven't personally had problems with the stock gallery, but I would definitely recommend you try out QuickPic
It's faster, and has higher resolution previews. And doesn't crash. I've been flashing nightlies over each other since the 120's, and haven't had any problems. But I've seen lots of people who have been having freezing with the gallery.
FWIW I have 6,126 photo's on my phone, and gallery is pretty useless. Whereas QuickPic loads them right up after building all the previews.
I checked out Quickpic and that is an excellent program thanks for the quick response.

Does anyone else have an issue with random phone restarts?

Random restarts?
None here. I have been runnig this ROM for close to a week now and have not see anything like that. Have you tried to contact the Dev for the ROM? Thats where I would start.
Days on with no reboots here

Same here, no reboot problems.
Altho I do have a oroblem when I receive mms pics, they appear as if they were videos. The pic is there but you can't zoom in on it and you can see the movie player control at the bottom. It's if it was a short 5s video with only 1frame. Quite annoying....
Is anyone experiencing the same issue?

Same usurious as the infuse. Only way I know around it is to save pic and view through gallery

It's like that on a lot of Android phones. You need to save the attached picture and then look at it in your gallery.
Thats not a bug or anything, it is how a lot of mms works. It isn't a video it is a slideshow with only one pic...
Well it doesn't do that on my wife's Inspire or my old iPhone 3GS. That kind of stupid. But hopefully LG will improve their UI for GB or ICS.

Yeah, LG needs to step up their game in UI. Their music player is great, but a few tweaks here and there could make all the difference.

I have been using this ROM for about a day and no issues yet.
Anyone else getting terrible performance from the Facebook app? I've had much better scrolling with my HOXL. I've now begun using the Web touch version, since it's working much better.

Yeah same here. Only app I notice it in though. Was better on my HOX too

Same, been using atrium instead
Probably an issue with FB app not optimized for the S600 It kinda is the first phone to release with this SoC
Me as well. Also seeing lag in play store. Anyone else?
Someone mentioned that enabling gpu rendering would fix this but don't know if it's true. Don't really use Facebook.

If you think that's bad, you should try Facebook Home. I actually like FB Home (leaving a shortcut in the app drawer to Apex) but when I tried it on the HTC One, it was so choppy.
I've notice every time I open my gallery to view my photos, things slow down... A lot. Especially when I go to share the photo. Has any one else been experiencing this? I really hoping this is just a software bug and I'm not the only experiencing it.

This lag mostly happens when trying to delete or share a photo; not so much when just looking at my gallery.

I have noticed that everytime I try to share a photo with my wife via text I always have to send it twice. Data issue or phone issue?

Turn off Picasa, Facebook pic anything that related to sync, turn them off. Your gallery will be faster . Mine is pretty darn fast loading.
When I try to send mms with pic, it only take about a second or 2 to load, not much lag. About 100 something pics on SD. Not whole lot of that makes any difference.

Mutantblk can you give a list of what you disabled?

Not sure.
Contributing that I actually do not have any lag here when opening. viewing. photos. Im loaded with Picasa. Google+ and fb fotos.
Which one do you guys prefer? I like the Google one better because I think it takes pictures faster and I like the gallery access.
Are there any quality benefits to either one?

I like the Google (4.4) one as well. Though, mostly similar to the samsung one.
Although Samsung camera has more features, i still prefer the stock KitKat camera. Guess i'm somewhat of a minimalist.
