I see on this blog that it is possible to edit Google docs on Android. But, when I view one of my docs I do NOT have the edit button.
Does this work for you?
ThinkFree Office might be able to.
It works in Dolphin HD but not the stock browser... Why could that be?
It's working with the stock browser.
Hmm. What could I be doing wrong?

I believe it relates to apps which dont have it coded in, but support it... Im sorry its not that helpful but the classic browser works with it, but not without the enable where as firefox works by default.
I like firefox because it can sync with your firefox on your computer. This makes opening tabs you have open there open to you if you wish, and imports your bookmarks. This works for me since I can sync my phone/nook/pc all in 1 go.
I dont use it.
No sorry.
When I open the browser, a Google search page is displayed instead of the specified home page (about:blank). How can I keep the browser from going to Google search?
I'm using the standard browser with Serendipity 6.3.
I get the same results when I use Firefox Mobile 4.0 browser.
From Google home page, go to menu/more/settings/set homepage. Put your desired hompage url in there.

That's exactly what I did without success. As I posted, the homepage is set to about:blank.
Hmmm...maybe try reset to default and try again?

No change. I even rebooted. The home screen setting shows about:blank but the browser still goes to Google.
I'm on Serendipity 6.3 too. Just changed my homepage url successfully...but had to close the browser in task manager for the new url to "take." You may have some other issue.

I tried that as well. No joy. Oh well, I'll keep digging. Thanks for your suggestions.
I tried to download facebook ( it might have been a facebook widget) but it told me my phone is not compatible with this app. I couldnt even download it from the market
Is there a way to fool the market that I have a phone and not a nook tablet?
I download facebook app to phone then used root explorer and copied from /data/apps to dropbox

That sounds like a great idea. If only I didn't own an iPhone. Lol. Can anyone send me the apk please? Or is there a way to trick the market that I have a cellphone instead of a Nook?
I love the stock browser in CM9 on the Touchpad. The side swipe controls and the way it handles tabs is just awesome. Why this isn't part of Chrome mobile I can't figure out, the controls are perfection in my opinion.
Can I take the .apk and put it on my ICS phone and it work? It's an HTC Amaze, T-Mobile, rooted of course. Anything else I'd need to copy over ? Any chance this works or is this a pipe dream?
Thanks as always XDA world for your thoughts and suggestions.
xScope browser apk it has tabs and swype left to see previous pages. There is also a pro version in market.

Awesome, I'll check it out. I've tried a ton of the browsers, but never heard of this one. Thanks for the heads up.
Stock ICS browser is the same on all devices running ICS.

Well, that's not entirely true. My HTC Amaze has a stock browser with the filename "browser.apk", but it doesn't look or work anything like the stock browser in CM9, it kind of sucks. Most importantly it is missing the awesome side-swipe function buttons from the CM9 version, which I like quite a bit. And like Chrome, it can sync in your desktop bookmarks. Also, Chrome mobile sucks on this phone, very buggy.
I went ahead and tried using the CM9 stock browser in place of the stock browser in the HTC ICS version, it worked well and I can't find any issues.
Here is what I did:
- On the Amaze I renamed "browser.apk" to "!browser.apk!"
- I copied the "browser.apk" file from my Touchpad into \system\apps
- Reboot and done
Works fine as far as I can tell.... but I don't know if this broke something somewhere else that I'm not aware of yet.

Just get Adobe reader from play store. ?
Install QuickOffice
I thought that Google drive supported this type...
I had to get Adobe Reader installed. I disabled Quick office as Google is supposed to get rid of Quick office soon.

Google Drive doesn't support PDF yet, and all features of Quick Office haven't been integrated with Google Drive. I'd rather install QuickOffice over Adobe Reader, as Reader always seems slow to open. I have found a couple PDFs that only opened in Reader, but they weren't anything important. QuickOffice always loads the PDF files quickly. Really though, it's just personal preference on what you use.
