I believe that there's a solution to get your three buttons working. You need those three button combination in order to flash roms via odin/heimdall or through clockworkmod recovery.

Yes follow the method on the link which you have given to get your 3 button recovery/download working FIRST before flashing a new ROM.
I assume you are very familiar with Odin since you know all those terms.
DO NOT flash a ROM without doing the 3-button recovery/download.
I dont understand about this: 5. Start a new command prompt and navigate to the folder / drive where adb is located.
If you haven´t downloaded adb yet, get it here.
I start a new command prompt, but what i must write there? Also i have unzip adb with 2 .dll files.

Download the Android SDK from here:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Get the .zip version.
For easy access extract it to your desktop.
After extracting run command prompt.
type in "cd desktop" followed by "cd android-sdk-windows"
From there, type in "cd tools", and then you can type in "adb reboot download"
You MUST extract it to your desktop in order for all the commands which I've put down to work.
when i type "adb reboot download" then i got error like 'adb' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable programm or batch file.

Well, the home button on my unlocked G1 stopped working about a week or so ago. No big deal, but the problem I now face is that I am unable to install any new roms.
I am able to boot into recovery mode (cyanogen v1.4) using ADB, however once there, I am unable to install a new rom since my home button does not work.
Is there any way around this either using the phone or through my computer (I am using MAC OS 10.5). Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

For the life of me, I cannot seem to get fastboot to work for me on my mac. Maybe it is just me and I am unable to follow directions, but for some reason I cannot get it to work under Mac OS10.5 and I have no Window PC to try it out there.
You could try everything from adb shell. I don't know why fastboot wouldn't work if adb is working as they go hand-in-hand. I don't have the shell commands to flash, but I'm sure they are around here somewhere.
http://developer.htc.com/google-io-device.html
They have the fastboot binary if you wanted to try that instead what you have.

Decided to remove and reinstall adb again. For some reason now, fastboot does work even though I did the exact same things as before.
Thanks for the help evilkorn
Less than an hour after you posted... I'd say it's a pretty fast solution. =p
As stated, got flashboot to work, I now have another problem. When I try to install the rom using flashboot, I get this error;
Dell:tools szuba$ fastboot update jacheroski2.2a.zip
archive does not contain 'android-info.txt'
archive does not contain 'android-product.txt'
error: update package has no android-info.txt or android-product.txt
Dell:tools szuba$
Any way around this?
New solution. Flash amon ra's 1.2.2 recovery, that version had verify with send, instead of home. The link in my sig has the download for the current and past version.
dude you can still boot into recovery. go into terminal emultaor and type su then reboot recovery

One of Amon's recovery versions using the green "call" button to confirm actions (rather than the home button).
Must be my luck... installed Amon's previous recovery img but now my green (send/call) button doesn't seem to be working either.
For some reason, both my green (send/call) and home buttons do not work so both methods do not work for me. The only option that I can think of is to someone create a boot.img, data.img, and system.img from a rom and do a fastboot nandroid backup from those. Now if only I can find away to do that... anyother ideas?
And thanks for the help so far

Yes, the alt+ commands still requires you to verify with the home (or green) key.
Any chance there is away to do it through the console with code? Tried to do a search, but didn't come up with anything in regards to that.
Totally lost for ideas now... but the help is greatly appreciated evilkorn

What i was doing wrong?
Android Commander is bad?
You shouldn't do this with any 3rd Party App because you don't know if the procedures are compatible for the Tattoo...Gain root with the m7 exploit, upload su and flash_image and then flash first a recovery, then you can make a nandroid backup and after this you can flash anything you want - custom recovery saves your life, trust me!

What OS do you have? Linux? If so, you must start adb server with root permisions:
- cd to dir where you have downloaded & extracted android sdk tools, eg „cd ~/bin/android-sdk-linux/tools“
- Type „sudo ./adb kill-server“ and then „sudo ./adb start-server“
- Type „adb devices“ and you should see you phone.
For Windows XP, Vista, Seven... I just don't know mate, maybe some driver problem :-/

Once you see the menu on the phone come back up, navigate to BOOTLOADER and push power, then navigate to RECOVERY using the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select and the phone should boot to the ! screen.
Now on the computer double click the “step2-windows.bat” file and wait for it to finish.
Now you should see a custom recovery screen, using the optical trackpad navigate to Wipe and push on the trackpad to select it. Then navigate to Wipe data/factory reset and select that.
Once that is done, push volume down to go back to the main menu and select Flash zip from sdcard and select the rootedupdate.zip file and wait for it to flash. All done, you have root access and can use any root required app! Enjoy!

Thanks i got it to work anyway, I didn't have Bootloader driver installed. However, this guide is pretty similar to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1208377
With the screenshots help on that link, makes this guide even easier.
Thanks.
i was about to root a friends legend yesterday but also got stucked in step1-windows.bat, i succesfully downgraded to 1.31 and he has 2.1 instead of froyo now. But as i said, couldn´t get any further. Why is all the guides different, some guides you should open the RUU file in the computer, not in this guide. How do i know when to make that step or not
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
lost 2 full evenings with other guides and finally made it with this guide at the 1st try!!
Mistakes i did in the past (maybe that's why i didn't make it):
- SD Goldcard formatted FAT and not FAt32
- Working ADB.exe is in \platform-tools folder and no longer in \tools folder. So I extracted the 'hack for legend' in \platform-tool but in order to enable ADB.exe to load from any folder I added as Windows PATH folder also the \tool
also
- I run CMD with Admin rights in Windows7
- Had to run Visionary couple of times
- had to run point 12 couple of times

The easiest method is flashing a kernel including root associated to your ROM.
The Philz kernel is a good one, and nearly stock kernel with user friendly added CWM.
Can you boot into recovery? Check with adb if you can boot to recovery using
adb reboot recovery command.
Sorry but I'm not familiar with adb can you guide me through.?

The 4.2.2 isnt android HD 10.0 update does not support Sprint as of yet. They mention it in the thread. Not to mention the fact that it is mentioned when you go through the aroma installer and the fact that International is the only option in the aroma installer.

It's almost impossible to brick your phone unless you have S-OFF which I doubt that you do. Don't panic (yet)!
This thread has just about everything you need to get it fix. You rooted your phone so you probably already have adb and HTC Drivers installed on your computer, if not then get them installed.
You'll need to get a copy of TWRP recovery too and place it in the ./platform-tools/ directory. Also place a copy of a ROM.zip of your choice in the same ./platform-tools/ directory.
Now let's try to reinstall the recovery:
1. If you phone is already powered off. Press & hold volume down + power button for a few seconds until you see a menu on the phone screen. Use volume down button to select Fastboot then press power button to select it. Connect phone to usb cable now.
2. On your computer, browse to ./platform-tools, press the Shift key and then right-click on that folder and select "Open command window here"
3. In the command window, type: fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.5.0.0-m7wls.img then hit Enter
4. Still in the same command window, type: fastboot reboot-bootloader then hit Enter. You'll now see the bootloader menu on the phone. Press power button to select Bootloader, then volume-down key to highlight Recovery and press power button again to boot back into Recovery. Your phone should now be in TWRP recovery and you can proceed to reflash a ROM if you sdcard did not get wiped. If your sdcard is empty, continue from Step 5 to sideload a ROM
5. In TWRP recovery, tap Advanced, tap ADB Sideload, the swipe enable it
6. Back in the command windows, type: adb sideload NameOfROM.zip then hit Enter. Wait a few minutes and reboot the phone when prompted. You should be back in business now.
If you need more help, feel free to PM me.

Sprint hasn't released a kernel for 4.2.2 yet, so the newest android revolution won't work on our phones. I highly recommend downloading and using the "Sprint RUU" that's linked in the android development forum, and that will bring everything back to the beginning for you. From there you can re unlock and root, and the flash ViperRom or whatever... and trust me, you're phone isn't bricked.

You don't need to be able to put anything on your device, you download RUU to your computer, plug in your phone, and use Hasoons all in one kit to relock your phone, then run the RUU. After that it will be like factory new and you can reunlock and add whatever rom you want. I had an identical problem, this was the only fix for me.
