i am having a very annoying problem with my phone, i have just done a clean install of darkys 5.6 rom and every so often the phone will enter flight mode, the same thing happened in doc's rom. i have tried flashing other roms but still flight mode will activate,
is there any way to force disable flight mode or should i just send my phone back for repairs
please help
Can you check if your IMEI is still valid and correct? Compare it with IMEI sticker on the box your phone came with..

Dear all,
I am getting reboot if I turn flight mode on and then off. This is happening every time.
I first created replies in CM6 and Froyo topics, but I've already tried CM7 and got the same behavior - so, issue seems to be in bootloader or hardware.
Could you please advice what could be the reason and how to fix it?
I'm attaching a logcat. Thank you in advance.

Same problem here
BTW, could you please advice in which case battery will be drained more:
a. If I switch the phone to flight mode, leave phone for 6-7 hours and then reboot it.
b. If I do not enable flight mode and leave phone for 6-7 hours
I think that the battery life will be better with the Airplane Mode on (because the phone doesn't search for signal - somebody please correct me if I'm wrong!). Par example, a few weeks ago, I was at my grandparents, at countryside, where there is no Orange signal at all. I switched my phone to Airplane mode and with music (~3hours), some Doodle Jump (~1h) and some photos I got ~two days (my phone's battery usually lasts ~25-30 hours when on normal use, with Airplane Mode off).
same problem =(
can anyone help me?
edit:
Im using CM7 RC4.1
telus canada sbf
this problem only happens using the "Claro" chip, other service provider chips works fine.
this also happens on any custom rom Ive tried, cm7, miui and sm.
Out of nowhere when i rebooted my phone i got a messege on my phone saying "The SIM card was recently removed, sign into your account to verify identiy" I try loging in but it says its wrong. I cant do anything with the phone when its like this. I found a work around with a custom lockscreen if i turn on airplane mode as soon as it turns on. but its extremly annyoying not being able to use the home button!!! So if anyone has a fix please tell me D:. Im rooted and safestraped on a deoxed version of the stock rom (well i think it is) I just got the phone last night, i started having thease issues later this morning though.
Its a known issue with the RAZR and the Droid 4, the only solution is to hard reset the device.
If anyone is curious I actually found a temp fix for this!! What you do is you restart your phone, as soon as it turns on, quickly turn airplane mode on. Your phone works perfectly now...its just useless. SO TO FIX THAT. You must then go to wireless settings and turn on wifi. Our main goal is to remove your email from accounts, in my case, it was my verizon yahoo email. I think its whatever email shows up for you to verify. If you try removing it over wifi though it will have a server error.
So since you can at least go in the market now (or google play now or whatever lol) you should download an app called LockMenu (free version) that will replace your lockscreen and it has a slider to go directly to your home launcher, once that works fine you can turn airplane mode off. (Your home button and notification bar dont work right now btw) In any case now that your phones data is on again you can now just go to accounts and remove the cursed email.
Now just reboot, and you shouldn't have the error!
Hallelujah
I signed up for an account just to say Thank You to Artic.Light!! I was customizing my phone and while setting up my gmail account activity feed my phone froze up. Upon reboot I received the "SIM card removed" message and was completely f-ing devastated. My GF is 9 months preggers and was out and about in heavy rain so communication was critical. I was freaking out and scrambling for like a half hour looking online for someone who cracked the code. After finally finding and following Artic.Light's instructions my phone is back up and running fine and I could not be happier!! Mega Huge Thanx!!!!
FIX
I found a fix for this. Do what the guy said and put the phone in airplane mode. Reboot the phone and turn it back on. Airplane mode should still be on when the phone comes back on. Simply go to the dial pad. call someone, it will give you a message about airplane mode being turned off, just ignore it and complete the phone call. Stay connected in the phone call for about 2 minutes to allow the sim card to refresh. and thats it.

Nick, did your solution continue to work after fixing it and then powering off? Unfortunately, it did not for me. I'd been using the power off in airplane mode method, then after powering on, make a call. I typically just call me voice mail and hang up after a few seconds. Your suggestion gave me hope but after leaving the call open (with my work phone) for several minutes (and trying it a couple times, it reverted back to the same issue.
Does anyone know why they don't just fix the bug?

SIM Removed
You just need to mention the e-mail account password I tried and it works perfectly.
I have this weird problem for almost a half year now but now it is getting realy annoying.
If I reboot the phone and enter my pin I don't have signal. The bars shows a X.
But If I enter airplane mode on and off and re-enter my pin, the signal comes back.
It only happens when I reboot or shutdown my phone.
This problem is on every custom rom. ARHD, Insertcoin etc. etc.

This will most likely be down to your firmware or kernel. Installing custom roms will have no effect as they do not include firmware or kernel.. can you post a fastboot getvar all minus imei and serial number

Hello XDA,
I have an LG G2 on Verizon that is showing the cell radio being off. I am not sure how to get it back "on". Antennae wires are on perfect, just not showing any cell signal on the signal bar whatsoever.....phone was give to me from a friend and I assumed I could just fix it! When I go to make a call it says " Airplane Mode on" and when I select to shut if off, it not being on in the first place, nothing happens. I have tried to use Toggle Cell and Cell Radio Shutoff and neither works, the Cell Radio Shutoff actually stops in error.
HEEEEELLLPPP!!!!!!
Bought a phone off ebay and have the same problem. Have you found a solution yet? Mine reads the sim card, but no reception to make a call or connect to data. I'm thinking its a hardware issue or the efs got jacked up.
I have this same problem on att note 3. I have not found a solution yet. No pattern, just the phone may, or may not boot with radios on. Grrrr
would be willing to bet that someone flashed a ROM that is not compatible with the radio - they need to match. TOT it back to factory stock and try it.
So. I've gotten service back.
What makes it work is to make sure airplane mode is off and turn off the phone from 5 - 100 minutes.
With one ROM, firekat, I was able to boot a few times with radios on if I left the phone off for 4 minutes. This new ROM seems to take longer. I ended up leaving it off over night and it "works" now :/ would like a better fix.
98% of the time when I boot up airplane mode is on and the radios can't be switched.

Actually. It works if you make sure airplane mode is on, I turn it off and on with tasker and secure settings. Leave the phone off for 10 minutes. Boot it up. Airplane mode should still be on, turn it off, and voila. Service.

I'm on a stock, rooted build of 5.1.1 for T-Mobile running the latest leankernel (2.10.6). I've noticed that every now and then, upon rebooting, my phone will say it doesn't have a SIM card. To fix this, I'll need to reinsert the SIM and it will be fine until the next occurrence.
I've had this issue on 5.0.1 and 5.1 as well. Always a stock, rooted build with leankernel.
Does anyone else have this issue?
Either your SIM card is going out or the phone is borked.
I've noticed it happens more often when the phone is in Airplane mode after the reboot. So, it will be in airplane mode when this issue is present.
I have been able to reliably reproduce the issue. If my phone is in airplane mode and I reboot, then I get "NO SIM DETECTED". However, if I put my phone out of airplane mode, then the sim is detected and its all good--then I can put it back into airplane mode with no issue.
I've had this problem 2 times before. One was airplane mode (like the folks above). One other time, the phone was just taking forever to initialize after getting the home screen loaded. I was starting to freak out, but then 5 minutes later I got a cellular signal.
If this is persistent and on-going, then I think you should contact Support. Other folks had no choice but to get a new device.
