I can see that some people have problems with updating...The only thing you have to do is to:
1)restore to your stock ROM,if you have flashed your phone in another custom ROM.
2)update via software update in your phone in 1.25.xxx version..
3)do the same thing for the update 1.37.xxx. version
4)and finally update it to froyo
ENJOY!
how can you install Stock 1.25.xxx version ??
should i flash a custom ROM then install 1.25.xxx version if so how ?
cheers.
you could try to restore it if you've done a nandroid backup before installing a rom.
yes i done a backup buts i thinks my backup is 1.37 so will i be able to install this ?
Yes, i think you can. The only downside is that you'll loose root privileges.
i dont care about root and it dosnt work
says bootloader error
I'm updating it right now. And I don't really want to root my Android. I only want to Flash Windows Mobile Phones because they suck.
Hi everybody! I updated mine yesterday to 2.2.1. It works fine and I have an operator free device.

When I installed custom froyo rom I accidentally deleted the original fw but with so many fw available to download I am not sure which one to get as offical eclair...i want to do this to be prepared for next week official asia froyo release...tkd

you dont remember which fw version you had on the phone?
If you didnt backup and dont know i dont think there is a way to find out which was the original firmware.
I had on mine JM6 if i remember correctly but its from germany.
It depends on your region etc. I would just keep using custom roms now or just downgrade to some kind of eclair version and then update officially from there - should not be a problem I think.
But I'm still a noob so dont take what I say for granted.

Have you rooted your phone? If yes, then you need to flash the orginal sbf to get the update installed. But it is probably a minor update patch. Could be the 2.1 update1. Where are you from?
hi
i've rooted my phone and i'm using the original 2.1update-1 from a website
you guided me to ( remember arabic roms )
i'm from saudi arabia

Oh yes. I do remember. As i said, if you want any OTA download to work, you need to flash the original ROM without root.
hi
you know what
i did that to ( installing new original rom and before rooting my phone i've tried
to install the update but no success )
regarding the original rom does this website http://and-developers.com/sbf:milestone has original roms?
if it does so my rom is original
if it's not so you know
many regards
Yes it does. The sbf's mentioned there are all official.
Anyway don't worry about the update. If you have update1, that's it. Froyo will be out anytime now.

Hello All,
I have one noob question!!.. I have a vodafone galaxy tab (Spain) and I had it unlocked (from simlock). My question is that when the official gingerbread comes out and I update, will I loose the unlock?? (as in the case of iOS devices).
pardon me for my ignorance on android os.
thanks in advanceee
Really!!! Noone here has any idea regarding this!!
I am amazed to see no reply..

maybe I need some other forums apart from xda..
I havn't gotten the update yet, however, I'm thinking that if you receive your update on-air from vodafone, then simlock would be reactivated. If you update through kies, there's a good chance that your tab will remain open. Just my opinion. Cheers!
Just to confirm from Italy if kies updated only unlocked tabs and not the ones sold by mobile service providers. Just to know if I should wait for the official release or go the overcome route.

If you flash an official samsung rom it will stay unlocked. I don't know about a vodafone.
For your second question I'll suggest you to flash with the italian rom, that's what I did with my french tab.

I've Have my own with vodafone too (unlocked), And I installed the las overcome ROM with gingerbread... It's amazing...
Looking at kies, it says that our tablet can't be upgraded ^^
thanks orion,
I was just being lazy to carefully follow the instructions to flash it myself (fearing to brick it and then post on the Q&A on a bricked tab!!..).
I will try to read the instructions and do it.. can you point out the exact link (as you get a million hits on the subject with google and it becomes hard to choose the right one)
cheers
You'll have to revert back to stock in order to receive an official OTA update. My tab keeps reminding me to update my software but I'm rooted and can't install it. If I do install...it bricks my tab and I have to start all over again using heimdall. Odin to you...
Tbolt meatclaws-talkatap
i.e.. to sum up.. maybe I shall wait a few days/weeks before going the odin route!!
I know this is a noob question.but i need answer and guidance..

There is no official ICS OTA for the IncredibleS yet!!!!!
As for the noob question, you should SEARCH this forum first because there is plenty of information about reverting back to a stock ROM.
As soon as an ota update for ics is released there will be a stock rooted version of it available to download in the dev section. I promise you.

You are just going to have to wait for an official HTC ICS ROM for the IncS just like the rest of us!!!
If you are tired of custom ROMs with bugs, then you just need to go back to a ROM based on the HTC Sense 3.0/Gingerbread 2.3.5.
Hey everyone,
I was just wondering whether anyone can upload a nandroid backup or RUU (probably doesn't exist) of a stock Australian Voda-Hutch One?
Thanks
I would love an RUU, as of late I havent come across one. I do have a stock ROM nandroid. But I dont have stock recovery, which is what im mostly intersted in finding. How should I upload it?
Glad to see a fellow vodafoner, how's your 4G? :]

Bump, TWRP overwrote my Vodafone Nandroid with ARHD12. I also would like an uploaded backup. :/

just fyi since you guys are on 4.2 roms now, if you have flashed 2.x firmware (eg. 2.24) the touchscreen will not work on your backup (which I presume is 4.1 with a 1.29.x base)
I learned the hard way, by flashing 2.24 firmware on my stock rooted optus rom while waiting for a 4.2 rom to download. Touchscreen didn't work until I flashed 4.2
Well, there won't be a backup to flash back to, even if I did flash the latest firmware, anytime soon!
Thanks for the heads up.
