For school project, I need to build from source on eclair (NOT Froyo) and run on I9000.
Does anyone had repo that builds eclair for Galaxy S? I already had eclair source from android.com and got all environment setup. This version lack of hw drivers, so ng for any demo.
Thanks in advance for any help.
http://opensource.samsung.com/
Kernel sources there and its only 'open source' package available for i9000.
I think you should grab this:
GT-I9000_eclair_update.tar.gz
and this:
GT-I9000_eclair_update.tar.gz, since this is a patch for latest Eclair firmwares.
Those sources are also mirrored on voodoo github:
https://github.com/project-voodoo
If you want to build 'all' from scratch -> like Android for i9000, its probably bad news for ya: its not easy and some people are trying to do it for 2 months+ (Cyanogenmod)

HTC Wildfire - Froyo - 2.6.32 kernel source code
It is the famouse froyo for ours wildfires....
I hope, it's look like froyo.
Relax guys, it's just the kernel's source code.
It's been confirmed that Froyo will come to Wildfire just before Christmas.
Hello Everyone:
I havenĀ“t the knowledge for this:
Samsung released the sources of Froyo JPA (2.2) for i9000b (brazilian Galaxy S) (they put only the things that are different compared to the i9000):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875267
Also, they released the sources of Froyo JPX (2.2.1) that allthe people says that is much better than 2.2, for the international Galaxy S (i9000):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884553
Is it possible to make a 2.2.1 ROM for the i9000b using the sources for the international Galaxy and replacing those things that differs in the i9000b using the sources of 2.2?
I dont know if it is an easy task or is something that need a lot of work
If someone can do it, I will make a donation for him
you can do this yourself. just upgrade to jpa and then untar
tar -xvf firmware.tar
to get the parts (but recommend you use jpy now which is newer than jpx) and then apply only the parts you want.. everything but the modem using himdal.. i did the same for my i9000t .. search for thread on it.
a tutorial for dummies about how to do that please?
I have a Samsung Galaxy I900 which is still on
Firmware 2.1-update 1
Kernel 2.6.29
Build Eclair
I rooted with "Z4Root". I have "ROM Manager" installed.
How do I upgrade to a more recent build (Froyo, Gingerbread)? How does that relate to ROMS such as Fresh and CyanogenMod?
just do some reading, all of this has been answered.... it is to complicated to give you the answers you are looking for without writing a short novel.
Do some research as this is the most basic stuff your asking.
Hi,
I've downloaded the 'official' Samsung Opensource Kernel files (GT-N7000_Kernel.tar.gz) - in an attempt to rebuild the kernel for my Galaxy Note (which has no tun.ko support).
However - there's no kernel config file on the device (e.g. under /proc/config.gz etc.) - and there's a bewildering number of defconfig's for the arch/arm architecture (over 200).
Does anyone know either where I can get the Galaxy Note's actual config (if it's not available under /proc) - or, which defconfig to use for the Note?
Cheers,
-Tacks
Hi !
I have another question, but let's first try to answer the original one. As far as I've understood, you can use the config file arch/arm/configs/c1_rev02_defconfig. Before launching "make", do
Code:
make c1_rev02_defconfig
According to this thread, you have to patch the generated .config file it before using "make" to build everything. However, this was about the SII, anyone knows if this still holds for the GNote ?
So, my other question is : how do you specify the stock kernel version you want. On the Samsung's Open Source Community website, they only offer one kernel source. How can I choose if I want to build the KK9 kernel, or the LB1 version ?
Thank you !
Bump.
How does one build a specific kernel version from the Samsung's sources (e.g. KK9 vs LB1) ?
Thanks !
Hey there,
I want to try myself to build a Froyo AOSP rom, so i'm facing a problem, i need the vendor files.
So, Theres any Vendor source already for Froyo for our device? Or rather, is it possible to use GingerBread vendor from CyanogenMod7 Sources?
Thanks
You could use repo init -u git://github.com/CyanogenMod/android.git -b froyo This should have CM6 vendor.
i want to make a aosp build, and I need the device specific files, android_device_semc_shakira and msm7x27 for our device for froyo
cyannogenmod sources for x8 are only for cm7
Sent from my E15i using Opera
You mean CM AOSP or Google AOSP? ;p
If I were you, I would try with CM7 source.

man,
For our device there is cyanogenmod official sources only for CM7
I had the Cm7 source and i built one time just to see how it works, and i flashed into x8 and blabla.
But there isn't Cyanogenmod official sources for Cm6 froyo.
And there isn't also any Google AOSP sources (i think, that's why i'm opening this thread) for Froyo. So i'm asking if any dev have sources for this, or, rather, sources for CM6 that i can use to build Google AOSP ROM
anyone?
please, i want somebody to give me some "directions"
anything, please
