[Q] Wired headset mic fix? - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok, I started using the newest Axura, and I love basically everything about it, but I don't like how I have to unplug my headset to take a call, then plug it back in to listen to music. Is there a way to get the headset fix from other ROM's to work on this, or did I just do something wrong? I tried my best with searching, but couldn't find anything but other people having the same (similar?) issue. Thanks guys!

HELP speaker in G1 not working, but works with headphones.

I have been on the forums for a while and I can't figure this problem out. My speaker for ringers and hearing audio in a call work perfectly. The audio speaker doesn't work properly unless I have a headset plugged in, so when I'm in a call I have to were the head set so that else can hear me. I have tried wiping and flashing; this worked for one call the next call back to nothing. I have flashed different ROM's and nothing seems to work. If I posted in the wrong section let me know and tell me where to post.

If you have wiped and tried different roms and the problem still exists sounds like a hardware issue. Call T-Mobile or HTC to get it fixed.
Hi,
My friend is experiencing the same thing.
did you manage to solve this issue?
does speaker phone work?
No, speakerphone does not work
I must add this happened after updating to Donut (official), and wiping didn't help. Before that - it was working fine
so let me get his straight. speaker phone and music does not work but ring tones do?
No, nothing involving the speaker works. No ringtones, no mp3, nothing.
Happened just after upgrading to Donut.
I managed to get it working by plugging and uplugging headphones, but that was temporary and now this workaround doesn't work anymore
I do get audio only by headphones. Call audio is working ok
yeah this is a hardware problem. my mic randomly went out a while back i had to send it in they should fix it depending in when it was bought. it going out about the same time as donut is just bad timing.

No sound in speaker (in phonecalls) after using headset

After using a headset, the phone speaker for phonecalls won't work. I can use the loud speaker at the back of the phone, but not the ordinary speaker.
I got the speaker to work one time when taking the headset in and out of the phone (but not since, a week ago). Therefore I don't think the speaker is broken, but I'm not able to get it to work again.
Had the same problem on a Iphone (1.gen), but then I was able to get it to work again after pluging a headset in and out. Tried a lot of times with the SGS, but didn't help.
I tried to update the phone to JPX, didn't help
Just seams like the phone thinks the headset is plugged in even though it's not..
Any idea how to fix this?
When making calls there is button "Headset", try pushing that if it could help.
Thanks for answering. That button gives me the opertunity to connect a blutooth headset. Still no speaker sound..

[Q] Skullcandy 50/50 Earbuds w/ Microphone and Sprint HTC Hero

So, I've searched all over, and I can't find anyone who's had this problem, so I don't know if it's just my set up or what.
I got a set of $50 Skullcandy 50/50's for Christmas from my fiancee, and they're not fully functioning on my Hero. When I plug them in, I get the indicator that shows the headphones with microphone on the top of my screen, but the only thing that works is the sound. I can hang up and switch lines with the button on the microphone, but the volume up/down won't work, and the microphone does not push sound through. When I push the volume up/down buttons on my headset, I can hear clicking on the other end of the call though.
Now keep in mind, I've tried these earbuds on a couple different phones, and they work just as they should. They worked on an iPhone 4 and a Droid Incredible.
Is there something I'm missing, or a fix that someone has found to resolve this? I even went as far has having my phone replaced, and it does the same thing.
Thanks in advance.
Also, I'm using the stock Sprint ROM 2.32.
I have the same issue with AOSP 9.9.2 and plantronics headphones with mic. If i figure anything out ill let you know.
I have the same problem with some scosche headphones. They change the volume skip tracks, answer and hangup, and I can hear people on the other end. Problem is they cant hear me. Mic won't function. And it only happens on the hero.
As far as I can tell, the hero is just finicky and doesn't like certain headphones/mics. doesn't matter what rom or kernel you use.
I just gave up on it.
Yeah, it's kind of irritating because I spent so much money on them. I'll just wait it out until I get a new phone. I just can't figure out how it won't work on this phone, but it shows like it should. It's just blowing my mind right now.
I have 3 different pairs of skullcandy headphones 2 pair of the smokin buds and a pair of lowriders and I havent had that problem with any of them on my hero...I have an Alltel hero and I switch Roms 2-3 times a week. The only thing i can think of suggesting right now is to plug in the headset with the phone off and power it up with them still connected.
Found something that may help..but I cant post links so go to your webbrowser and type in code.google.com/p/toggleheadset/ and download the widget. Hope this helps.
I have the smokin buds to and I love them they work well with my hero
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
So why will the Smokin' Buds headset work, but not the 50/50's? What's the difference?
thank you!

The widget didn't help :-(
Turning off the device and turning it back on with the headphones should work. Try it out. It actually work for me.
Weird, I have never had an issue like that and I have been through every ROM you can name.

[Q] speaker-mode microphone while phone connected to car aux

Hi!
I have a new car stereo with an aux port. I wanted to connect my phone to it, but I discovered the following issue: When I'm in a call, the sound is excellent through the car speakers, but the other side can hardly hear me, because the microphone works as in a regular mode (has to be next to my mouth). And when I press on the speaker button, the sound comes out of the phone and not the speakers (which is pretty crappy).
I used stock until recently, and tried it out with cyanogenmod 7 with no success. Is there a way to make it work? I don't mind using another rom instead.
Thanks,
Ophir
Nobody encountered this?
I have encountered this!
To my knowledge (though I haven't searched around THAT much) there is no way around this... sometimes when I have the caller come through my speakers, they will get feedback from themselves into the phone from their speech. I always just unplug my phone from the AUX port. Total pain in the butt.
If you find a solution, please share it!

I had this happen. It was a hardware problem. I had to get the phone replaced. I did a lot of running and listening to music, so I don't know if the jiggling around in my pocket with the headset plugged in caused it. I use bluetooth headphones when I run now. I still use the physical connection in my car and haven't had any problems on the new phone.
