What he said.
I don't hav a clue what the OP is talking about....

Changing the music someone hears when you put someone on hold.
I think the OP is talking about the music someone hears when you put someone on hold to put up a second incoming phone call. I was wondering about this too, i often have long phone conferences with lots of parties using a central conferencing systems; during these calls i sometimes get second incoming call.
If I puck it up, the conference call gets put on hold, and thus all parties in the conference hear nothing but my "on hold" music (which is noisy as hell).
Can this music be configged somewhere ?

That's usually something that's set up from the carrier side...

Volume hack???

I have been looking but I have yet to see one on here. I'm not all that impressed with the volume of the speaker when I'm watching videos our listening to Pandora. Please help!

You can try this, don't know if it will work or not.

Lvh on the market has louder hacks for everything, from speaker to bluetooth to headphones to in call. If you're too cheap to buy it, his website tells you how to do it manually.
Edit: I'm an ass, that's exactly what he linked too. Lol
It works, but the little speaker can only handle so much before breaking up.

Are the speakers really that loud?

I keep hearing how these speakers are suppose to be so loud but mine don't really seem to get that loud, not sure if something is wrong with mine or others are just over exaggerating, I was trying to show them off to a buddy at work and played a YouTube video and we could barely hear it, so then I played some songs straight out of the internal memory and it wasn't really to much louder, I got the volume turned all way up and beats audio on, maybe there is some other eq somewhere I don't know about? My old evo 4g was almost just as loud

The one I am sending back were not that loud, but they would fade in and out to really loud to barely being able to hear. Also the crackling.
Mine are really loud with no crackling. The first time I got a notification it was startling how loud they were. Games sound amazing.
Won't be able to say for sure until I get mine Monday, but I went to the sprint store and played with the display today. I think the speakers are a touch over hyped. They are definitely louder than any phone I've had personally...but didn't seem like some people make them out to be.
Again, I'll know for sure Monday..

The speakers for me are very loud and clear. It's hard to believe they are on a phone

Mine are extremely loud, my wife and a few coworkers have been taken aback by them. Yesterday my wife texted me while she was upstairs and I was down. After her first text she tested right afterwards telling me to turn my phone down because she could hear it from up there.

For phone speakers they are very loud and clear and people are not exaggerating. You're phone may be alright, you may just have unrealistic expectations for what they can do with tiny speakers in a handset.
My Note II is about as loud but doesn't sound anywhere near as good.

Honestly mine are appropriately loud if that makes sense, well except for when turned down to lowest volume they are STILL kind of loud. It's kind of startling how loud it is, I actually jump sometimes from getting a text or email because it's just abruptly loud. It is something to get used to, but it seems you may have to return yours because it does seem there is something wrong.
A good rule of thumb for max volume on the HTC One speakers is that it should "fill the room" with sound. I can play mine max volume in my room at the other end of the house and hear it perfectly fine while in the kitchen.
I bought one of these when I got my One. I'm use to hearing things this loud so I don't expect much from phone speakers. Ring tones and notifications are crazy loud. Music isn't to crazy on my phone. I usually have my goodie bag of stuff, extra charger, external battery, this speaker, ipad, twinkles, you know the usual.

No unrooted stock
Mines is no sound also, completely stock still.
Oddly enough, mine also didn't have a sound when stock.
Was your phone on silent or vibrate before you rebooted? I swear it disables the start up sound but I could be wrong. It annoyed me so I deleted the sound file anyway.
Also, I wish the max volume could be lowered. The minimum volume is still freaking loud.

After having the phone a couple weeks or so now, and letting the epic feeling wear off. I've realized that while the speakers sound pretty good, HTC "boomsound" is a letdown.
My girlfriends s3 is just as loud but doesn't sound as good. Tonight the power went out at work at we gathered in the break room..a bunch of us starting watching YouTube videos. Granted I could barely load any with Sprints crappy network (and most definitely not hq) but when it did play, some dudes crappy LG was drowning my "boomsound" completely out.
The speakers are loud and do have a better sound than a lot of phones, but they are over rated. I like them, but I'm still slightly disappointed
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
I also found my speakers weren't incredible loud, the quality was amazing for being on a phone, but if i'm in an environment where people are talking, or outside and it's windy at all i have a hard time hearing the phone, but it is consistent, no fading or crackling or anything

Vibrator making noise/rattling

Anyone else noticing that their phones vibrator is making more noise than actual vibration? While holding the phone, it's louder than any other phone I've had when it was sitting on a table and vibrating. Just seems odd to me. Sounds like it's loose or rattling inside
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
Mine is the same. Its hit or miss if I feel it in my pocket. I can hear it buzzing though. Ive been using sound instead of vibrate for the last few days. I cant remember the last time I had to choose a ringer. LOL!
Same here.. On swift key I turned haptic feedback to 20ish
Sent from my HTCONE using xda premium
Maybe you should return your vibrator to wherever you bought it from and they can replace it.

Already called customer service, they won't take it back cause it's been used.

Haha, seriously though, this phone has the most obnoxious vibrate I've ever heard. I used to set my phone on my desk while I work and leave it on vibrate but now the vibrate sound annoys me so much I have to put it on silent or just a ringtone.

Mic fades/distorted

Has anyone else got complaints from the person on the other end of their call that we sound either really far away or distorted? I seem to get it allot and different locations.

Try disabling voice privacy. Settings>Calls>Voice privacy. I'm using an EVO LTE so it might be different or might not

1- Watch that your pinky finger doesn't accidentally move over the microphone while you're holding it.
2- Check this out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2262648
I currently have the team at HTC interested in this. The problem is their noise cancellation may be picking up your voice for just a moment while you switch ears, or move... then for up to 30 seconds, your voice is considered "background noise" and is filtered out mostly.
This frequency cut gives the impression that you're far away or in a tunnel. I'll update the main thread when I hear back definitively what their findings were, and if there will be a fix.
Workaround for now, is talk very consistently (don't alter volumes) and watch your positioning; don't talk to where the back of the phone could pick you up.

What is a headset blocker and why does your music player change songs when it hears noise?

When i plug in headphones, insted of just the headphone icon at top it shows the headset icon with microphone. By doin that i think it enables voice commands therefor when it hears a noise it changes songs. Headset blocker blocks it from going into headset mode

I know there is an option in Google Now to listen for bluetooth mic, plug your headset in and see if it gives an option for that mic.

I have the same exact problem. Wizdroid doesn't work. I can use the HTC headphones or a pair of BOSE headphones (with microphone) that I have. Regardless, if it hears any kind of external noise, it'll start changing songs, or stopping music or dialing phone numbers. It's really annoying. I can't even put it in my pocket and walk around, it'll start dialing phone numbers. I have to keep it steady and not move the wire around in order for them to work properly.

I think I'm just going to switch mine out since it's still under warranty. I have a lot of other problems with the phone too (camera tint, starting to feel some lag, my boomsound isn't as loud as other htc one's, etc.)
Does anyone know if Sprint stores do warranty exchanges? I really don't want to send my phone in to HTC and wait for them to send it back to me.

From past experience, unless you have the insurance you will need to send it in if its past the first 14 days. I had a problem with the camera on my E4G and the would not range it even thought it was under warranty.
