Can anyone tell me how to add apps to the little bar on the bottom of Launcher Pro? Right now I have the default phone, chat, apps, browser, music but I've seen pictures of people who actually have real apps pinned down there. I tried click/holding on the icon and it give me the option to...
"Change Shortcut"
"Change Icon"
"Swipe Gesture Action"
When I click Change Shortcut, my screen goes black for a second and then comes right back to the main desktop and thats it. Am I missing something? I'd like to remove all the generic, ghosted, white icons and pin the real ones down there instead.
Thanks
This question gets asked a lot and I mean a LOT. Use the search function next time.
But to answere, the NookColor version of Android doesn't have a shortcut picker so doing this with any launcher will crash it. There is currently no fix but there is a work around.
If you have launcher pro on your phone you can set it up how you want it for the Nook and then make a backup. Copy the backup to the Nook and restore it there. You will need an SD card for this.
The work around to getting apps on the dock bar for Launcher Pro is too much work for me, haha. I tried Zeam and ADW.Launcher and discovered both will allow you to just drag/drop to the dock bar instead.
Ya I should have searched better, my bad. Just found the answer 10 times over after a bit more reading. I ended up just using ADW instead since this is my only android device so no backup to take from a phone.

I've looked but can seem to find the answer.
(1) I know I can create new folders on my home screens and move icons into it, but don't know how to change the name from "Folder" to like "Multimedia". Is there a way to do it using ADW Launcher or CM6? If so, I havent found it...
(2) Is there a way to create multiple Drawers to hold stuff in ADW or are we stuck with the one launcher screen? Or is this in Launcher Pro, etc?
(3) Anybody know an easy way to create a widget for an application?
I'm just trying to clean up my home screens, which are getting crowded and don't want to move to 6 or 7 homescreens.
you just long press the holder bar at the top to change the name.
only launcher pro has multiple scrolling docks.
no idea how to create a widget.

long press the "holder bar" at the top....what the heck is a holder bar? sorry to sound stupid, but could you explain? Thanks!
Edit: Roger...bump charging right now at 4197mV and 1427mAh
The bar at the top of the folder, to the left of the X.
*crap wrong section, mod plz move, sry all*
Is anyone else seeing this? Its fully rooted, everything works perfect, but Ive tried 4 different launchers now, and all of them crash the home screen (screen goes black after hitting "create/addshortcut", then resets to the home screen) when I create a shortcut.
I can put everything on the desktop other than shortcuts.
I first noticed it with LauncherPro when I was trying to change shortcuts on the toolbar (to get rid of the phone, contacts, etc) and every time I would try to change it, it would crash, but I was able to change the icon.
GDE is so far the only one that allows me to change icons on the tool bar, but still crashes if I try to add anything to the desktop.
I hope its something stupid Im missing, although, I have found ways around it, its jsut something thats botherin me like a pebble in my shoe lol
Well there is something missing on the NOOK that prevents this from happening. No home app will bring it back. I think the missing component is called "picker" or something like that and just like the market and other Gapps, someone will have to figure out how to add it.
Ah ok, as long as its something thats not working as intended. I must of missed it reading along here somewhere. I did find a way around it with Zeam and App organizer
Zeam allows you to drag icons to your tool bar, then you can drag them from the tool bar to the desktop with no crashing.
And app organizer allows Widgets that act as folders to be created, and widgets have no problem being added
Or you can just hold onto the program icon for a few secs and that will alow you to drag it the desktop.

I'm able to drag apps straight from the app drawer to the desktop with Zeam. Perhaps you're talking about something else though.
I found a work around for this. Since I've seen the question brought up every few days, I'll make a wiki article on this as well.
Requirements:
Desktop Visualizer: http://www.appbrain.com/app/desktop-visualizer/jp.co.bii.android.app.dskvzr
Icons for the shortcut you're making [not necessarily required, you can pick an existing app and use that apps icon for the shortcut as well]
Steps:
1. Long press desktop on launcher of choice
2. Add widget
3. Pick the desired widget size from the Desktop Visualizer options
4. Set your icon in Desktop Visualizer
5. Hit the Select Action button in Desktop Visualizer
6. Hit 'Other'
7. The menu you're now at should have the options that would normally be accessible from the shortcuts menu
8. Find the shortcut, finish up in DV, and voila, you're done.
Great tip, thanks ! Used it to toggle WiFi AdHoc/WiFi AP
Proxy Settings are not available
All shortcuts except the Proxy Settings shortcut are available.
Does that mean there is a way to access the WiFi settings directly ? Can only toggle so far.
So I have rooted and autonootererered. I have Zeam launcher up and running. No issues.
However, when I long press and try to add a shortcut, it just jumps back to the screen. Nothing happens. I can however add icons to desktop through app list by long pressing.
Also, I would much prefer Launcher Pro as I already paid for it for my EVO. However, I cannot seem to change the icons (phone icon, etc) Want to use it for widget purposes, but dont want inactive icons such as phone and contacts sitting on the dock...
Is there a workaround for this?
These are known issues. There are multiple options that can be found by searching the forum.
1. open the app drawer press and hold on the app you want an icon on the homescreen. you will be able to drag it to the homescreen
2. edit your launcher pro settings on your phone, back up and restore on your nook. (search the forum, i think someone has a blank backup or something.
Hello,
I bought the Galaxy recently, and changed his rom.
Rom comes with Launchrpro, and I am very satisfied with it.
But I want to stay with the original rom menu (TW). is this possible?
In addition, I want to get the applications menu in folders.is this possible?
Thanks
I don't know which rom you are using but if that rom gives you both option then go to
settings> application> manage application> choose TW> set default (you can clear defaults too)
Hope this works for you.
There are custom roms that offer touchwiz, and you can always install it afterwards too (e.g. From apk found off the forums, or via sgs tools app).
Doc rom kitchen is a great place to start.
The app menu is launcher specific, afaik there aren't any that allow you to arrange your apps into folders, and launcherpro is the only one that lets you hide icons.
Sent from xda premium app on i9000m.
Tnx but I know that I can switch to TW.
I want to stay with Launchrpro and replace just the menu like TW.

What menu are you talking about? (screenies would be nice)
The first picture(left) is the menu I want to go back to.
This second picture menu I have now, in the launcherpro
I wish to keep launcherpro because of the comfortable home screens.
That menu is called app drawer a part of the launcher and what you want I believe not possible with launcherpro. If you want the horizontal scrolling + menu in app drawer I mean. You are better off with another launcher. Like ADW launcher or some modified TW.
As near as I can tell, what you are showing in the first pic is the TWLauncher homescreen, while in the second you are showing the App Drawer in LauncherPro.
It is easy to reproduce a similar homescreen in Launcher Pro. On your main screen, just press the button to open your App Drawer (the thing shown in your second picture). The press and hold the icon for an App you wish to put on your homescreen. Your view will switch to your homescreen, with a garbage can at the bottom. Position the icon where you with it, or drop it into the trash and start again. Once you have everything on the first homescreen that you want, go to the second screen, reopen the App Drawer, and add apps just as you did before.
You can control the number of homescreens you have, and which opens by default, from the Launcher Pro Preferences menu.

As you can see if you look closely BOTH pics are app drawer . Look first pic, grey bar down (home screen has it black) and Home button which doesnt exist in the homescreen since there is the Applications button
To OP look what I wrote you up . Or you could kinda put all yours apps on your homescreen like rschenck said.
Try Go Launcher, free in market. It lets you have the "side swiping" app drawer/menu

Quite right, my bad...been a while since I used the TWLauncher.
OP, are you asking to be able to horizontally scroll through apps, or to have buttons for Phone and other key tasks on the same page as all your apps?
I am still thinking that you can either jury rig a solution using Pro, or as Pagot suggests, try other launchers, there are lots of good ones out there...ADW, Pro, GO, Zume, plenty of others.
For every app I install from Play Store, it also puts an app on the home screen. It is a mess. I'd rather start with a blank slate and copy the icons I want on the home screen (as well as make folders).
I can't seem to figure out how to remove the icon. I found the options to rename the icon or uninstall, but I can't find an option to simply remove the icon.
Appreciate any guidance on this. I know I could switch to Nova or something, but I'd like to stick to the Rog launcher if I can.
Drag the icon to the top of screen - there should be a delete/ "X" in top area of screen (might turn red if dragged to correct area) - should then be able to delete the icon (I am on Nova, but I think stock launcher worked this way).

I actually like the Asus launcher as well. It kinda grew on me. So long press on home screen, preference, then look for this option. "Add icon to home screen". Don't have it checked. You can also lock the home screen as well.
